A Trip

And I received another one of those Todd Eaton emails the other day. And those emails are a protest calendar and seem to be all protest, all the time, and can be great for someone who wishes to become a full time protester, organizer or participant of some sort to change the world to save planet mother earth. And somehow I wound up on this mailing list and I am not sure how. And I usually look at the titles of their emails of which some read this week: "4/6 SUN: Rev. Billy and the Stop Eviction Gospel Choir‏", "NYC Solidarity Without Borders calendar!" and "4/2 WED: stop Amtrak and Greyhound immigrant raids". Now that last email sounds interesting and I thought to repost that it along with a passport posting I blah blogged about a while ago. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? ‏

According to organizers the below action is on Wednesday April 2.

Tell Amtrak and Greyhound to respect immigrant rights. Amtrak and Greyhound: Your Ticket to Deportation. Did you know that you will be inspected by immigration if you travel by Amtrak or Greyhound? Amtrak and Greyhound take immigrants money and sell them out to immigration officials who routinely raid trains and buses traveling from NYC to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and other upstate locations... Without any warning! Come rally to demand Amtrak and Greyhound publicly apologize, give refunds to families that were detained while using their services, warn people that they will face an immigration inspection when using their services. Wednesday April 2, 2008 at Penn Station, moving on to Port Authority, Greyhound Bus Terminal. For more information, visit Families For Freedom.

And the following is a blog entry I posted a while ago about the passport and immigration laws, as the two seem related somehow:

For what reason is the number of that passport immigration law that prohibits freedom of travel amongst humanity anywhere on planet earth, and that Section 666 Social Security Act, cashless society, national I.D., the number of your name to receive any state services and everything else in between thing, 666? Is this that save no man that he may buy or sell except that he have the mark of the beast thing in the book of Revelations. Is this written in prophecy somewhere. Did George Orwell or Nostradamus predict this? Is that a coincidence or on purpose that this social security act law #666 has the same number of that beast thing. And who or what is the beast, and what is that mark on ones right hand or forehead. What does that mark represent or mean, if anything. And what's up with that UPC bar code photo that I placed in this blog entry yet again, twice in the same week. Are people now products to be scanned? And for what reason do all universal product codes contain this number. What the heck does that mean? Is that the number of the beast, the number of man? And what's that New World Order, Verichip and RFID tag thing all about. Big Brother, Brave New World and technology are here and that's a whole another blog posting. And I have heard so many green card immigration nightmare stories about green card marriages, lotteries and green card everything else in between. Of people leaving a country and not being able to return for whatever reason. And the stories of loss of life while crossing a border, whether by land or sea. And for what reason are there boarders, divisions, restrictions, barriers and territories of land in this world. And for what reason are people not free to travel anywhere in the world without the permission of someone else. Who invented this concept. Is it possible to undo this passport, visa, citizenship, where are your papers to come here law so that everyone can be free to travel anywhere in this world. For what reason does this concept exist. And who is a foreigner. Aren't we all strangers in this land. Is another world possible. No one is free when others are oppressed. And now that passage from revelations comes to mind, " And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Revelations 13.
" First they came for the immigrants and I did not speak out because I was not an immigrant. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me." Pastor Martin Niemöller. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

This Day

I have heard that the only thing constant in life is change. And it seems like times are changing indeed, I guess. And this day is Sunday, that day of Dios, day of rest Sabbath day again. or is that Saturday. And is it still one of those Easter Sundays? And I find myself blahging away about random thoughts again that come to mind. What was is the past few days or so. Oh, the bees are dying, and now that bats are dying, and now the frogs seem to be dying and the price of wheat is going up along with a barrel of oil. Is this the beginning of the eco apocalypse? And what about that big pile of plastic garbage that is floating around out there somewhere in the ocean, the Green Pacific Garbage Patch I believe it is called. And then there is that Go Green climate change is it the beginning of the end 2012 Mayan calendar thing. And Google was dark yesterday when I visited their page, it was black, with a message for Earth Hour, Lights Out America, or turn your lights off day in observance of saving planet mother earth or something like that. And this day, week and month time of the year also seems to be tax, I.R.S. and try and get money if possible for your social security act number 666 mark of the beast, season time again. And aren't the Treasury and Federal Reserve printing up a bunch of money to cover the current economy collapse, recession, depression, Euro stronger than the dollar, stock market going down hill, foreclosure crisis or something like that. And then there is that Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 payment packet to mail to the Internal Revenue Service. What's that all about. Is that the save the economy and the world from going downhill or uphill packet or something? And what did; does Caesar have to do with taxes. And for what reason does the word Caesar sound like Czar, or does it? And what is that Roman empire state, that empire state of the imperial emperor king. And who are the slaves and what does that word mean. If only money were free and grew on trees or was not needed at all. If only everything in the world were barter and trade or just free. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

An Outsider Artist

Hey Bloggers, I was reading this weeks edition of the Village Voice newspaper, and as usual one of their full page color ads in their events section catches my eye. And this time it is an ad for the Bridge Art Fair New York 08 with a ton of participating galleries and an opening night reception and homage to the Tunnel Nightclub hosted by Amanda Lepore, Michael Musto, Screamin' Rachel Cain and DJ Scotto with special performance by Amanda Lepore. And I always like going to events and blah blogging about them these days because hey, it's less writing sometimes. At that reminds me, did I make it to that Outsider Art Fair this past year to see some outsider art? And what is outsider art anyway, art that is on the outside, and on the outside of what? Well, I guess I didn't go this past year to the Puck Building where it is usually held, as I don't remember freezing in the middle of January when they are usually held, trying to get there. And I do remember I actually made it to one of them years ago, as they are usually held there every year. And there are usually a ton of great outsider artists with outsider and folk art galleries from around the world to go with them like the American Primitive Gallery, The Ames Gallery. Berenberg Gallery, Bodell Fahey Umbrella Arts, Galerie Bonheur, Galerie Bourbon-Lally, Russell Bowman Art Advisory, Henry Boxer Gallery, Grey Carter Objects of Art, Cavin-Morris Gallery, Creative Growth Art Center, Andrew Edlin Gallery, Fischer Kunsthandel und Edition, Gilley's Gallery, Galerie der Künstler aus Gugging, Carl Hammer Gallery, Marion Harris, Galerie Atelier Herenplaats, Dean Jensen Gallery, Keny Galleries, Inc., Phyllis Kind Gallery, Yukiko Koide Presents, Maxwell Projects, The Pardee Collection, Ricco Maresca Gallery, Rising Fawn Folk Art, JP Ritsch-Fisch Galerie, Luise Ross Gallery, Jennifer Pinto Safian, Judy A Saslow Gallery, Galerie St. Etienne, Tanner Hill Gallery, Wasserwerk.Galerie Lange and Galerie Susanne Zander. And I wonder how that Outsider Art Fair went this past year, as it's been a while since I have seen those shows.

City Time

And I am not exactly sure what City Time is all about, but from that little bit of information I caught on the radio yesterday, it sounds like its big brother George Orwellian time again. And who is big brother anyway, a brother who is big? Is the beast here now? As this sounds like some scary mark of the beast 666 on everyones forehead end of the world Armageddon Apocalypse concept, enough to make me want to blahg about and and repost that passport posting I blogged about a while ago. And that radio segment went on to say something about city workers are planning a rally to protest some new technology that will scan their palms with a biometric palm print scanner or something in order to go to work. And I am starting to see those rfid tags and implanted chips in everyone now, is this some prophecy thing. And I also see everyones civil liberties disappearing at the speed of light in the name of "security" or "technology" or something like that, oh, that has already happened, I think. And I did one of those searches on the Internet about this, and the Office Of Payroll Administration Of The City Of New York was a website that came up. And its website says something Orwellian scary like "what is city time" "How is city time being implanted... I mean implemented", "When will agencies start using citytime", and it sounds really scary, as the Board of Correction,Campaign Finance Board,Conflicts of Interest Board,Department of Consumer Affairs ,Department of City Planning,Department of Design and Construction, Department of Finance, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene,Department of Records and Information Services,Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Department of Small Business Services, Department of Youth and Community Development, Equal Employment Practices Commission, Department for the Aging, Fire Department, Financial Information Services Agency, Kings County Public Administrator, Law Department, Office of the Actuary, Office of Collective Bargaining, Office of Payroll Administration , Police Department - Patrol Borough Staten Island , Staten Island Borough President , Taxi and Limousine Commission and the Teachers' Retirement System are currently using the CityTime production system;, and the next agencies include the Department of Parks, Department of Probation, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Environmental Protection and the Administration of Children's Services. And for some reason I can not read anymore, for the title of these subjects alone are scary. The following is a passport article reposted from a while back ago, as this all seems related somehow:
For what reason is the number of that passport immigration law that prohibits freedom of travel amongst humanity anywhere on planet earth, and that Section 666 Social Security Act, cashless society, national I.D., the number of your name to receive any state services and everything else in between thing, 666? Why Is It

"A man wakes up after sleeping under an advertised blanker on an advertised mattress and pulls off advertised pajamas, bathes in an advertised shower, shaves with an advertised razor, brushes his teeth with advertised tooothpaste, washes with advertised soap, puts on advertised clothes, drinks a cup of advertised coffee, drives to work in an advertised car and then...refuses to advertise, believing it doesn't pay. Later if business is poor,he advertises it for sale. Why Is It?"
Those are the above words I found written in church parish bulletin for their Easter service that I came across yesterday. Please Patronize Our Advertisers. And this advertisement was found right along with a bunch of other Christ Is Risen religious sayings, quotes and advertisements for supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, funeral homes, chapels, New York Single online dating ads, beauty salons, realtors and the like, that they had in their parish bulletin for their schedule of masses. And I thought about that Why Is It advertisement because hey, I am always looking for advertisement for this blog in an attempt to blah blog my way to riches. And why is it? And I think today is still Easter, Easter Monday in the fifty days of Easter, or is it forty. Have a great continuing Easter holiday.

Good Friday

Hey bloggers, gee, I took a look at the date of the last posting I did on this blog and it looks like it was a few days ago. And I try to attempt to blah blog away as much as I can in my blogaholicness, and then there is real life versus the virtual world. And then there is also that other blog I attempted to start last week, yet another one of those No Police State Girl blogs. And I wonder if maybe I should try and think up a different name for those blogs already. And it seems as if it is that page rank thing that sent me there to looking for another blog anyway. And when it seems as if the world is falling down around me, I still find myself blah blogging away. And yesterday in the world on that day, the Gregorian calendar, and the advertisements say this day yesterday, was Good Friday, or maybe God's Friday. I am not exactly sure what Good Friday is all about, maybe Wikipedia has an answer for that, but I gather it is some sort of religious holiday having to do with God and and fasting that leads up to Easter. And it is holy week this week, where praise to God and Jesus and his crucifixion could be given, whoever God may be. And what the heck does Easter have to do with eggs and bunnies anyway. Is that a spring, multiply, reproduce and be fruitful thing. And then there is Passover, isn't that another religious holiday a month away for God. I should watch that Ten Commandments movie again, it is really educational to watch when one is too lazy to read the bible. Have a great holy week.

A Status Quo

The status quo. Did I spell that right? And what heck is a status quo. Isn't that term usually called the status quota or something. And what does that mean? A quota that is a status. A quota that is stat. And what is the state of the status quota, quo, quote. Doesn't that usually have something to do with everything must or should be the same, the cookie cutter approach or something. And I have heard the term used during times past in phrases such as " To meet a quota for the day," what is that all about. Wiki Wikipedia, that Internet bible dictionary, must have an answer for this term I think. I should go and read what they have to say about this now. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Another Game

Baseball. What can I say about baseball to go along with that really big huge photo about baseball that I find myself posting on this blog posting today about baseball. And when I think of baseball for some reason I think of sports and baseball, apple pie, 2.5 kids, a white picket fence, the American flag, the Star Spangled Banner and the American dream, whatever that dream could be. Isn't that one of those all American games, or maybe it isn't. And baseball is one of those games that is usually played in school also I think. And then what about those big league baseball teams, is that what they call them? And then there are those baseball fans. And then there is fantasy baseball. Fantasy baseball you say? What could that be, baseball that is a fantasy, a dream, an illusion. Oh, that's baseball that you can play in the comfort of your own home without ever having to go anywhere or leave home. Fantasy Sports Prophet's Fantasy Baseball software is web based and lets you choose the baseball players for that baseball game you are playing, and you can also choose your own scoring rules and scoring parameters as outlined by your league host. Player rankings based on Predictive Modeling by PhD scientists and Sports Prophet’s fantasy baseball draft software uses Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, and Data Mining techniques to create the most accurate player projections available. Their website also has a full season roster management including updated mid-season projections via artificial intelligence, and you can also find news, rumors about your favorite players and teams and injury reports and major updates. And there is also a $10 off special for using promo code BMC200. Fantasy Sports Prophet's Fantasy Baseball software system is the key tool to winning fantasy baseball leagues.

The Dogs

The dogs. The canines. The barking dogs. Beware of the dogs, bewares of the dogs everywhere all over the world, in every house, nook, corner and cranny. And sometimes I wonder if the world is going to the dogs, the animals, as it seems as if there are more dogs, domesticated dogs, non domesticated and stray dogs everywhere these days, so much that I am starting to wonder if there are more dogs on earth than people. I actually read an article in, was it the am NY or the Metro the other day? And the title of the article was "100,000 dogs to be killed in Indian city", as "The dogs have become a big nuisance and are threatening humans" there. Are dogs now overpopulating the world more than people on planet mother earth these days. And what would those animal activists PETA have to say about this? And then there was another article in The Villager newspaper the other day, something about "A dogfight over a dog run..", that had something to do with people are signing petitions to not include dog runs in neighborhood parks and playgrounds. And then there are those no dog allowed signs that are on just about every other store in New York City that say "No Dogs Allowed". And then there is the usual sighting of what seems like about every other person walking their dog around town so much that it seems like the city is one big dog walk. And where are the cats. And what does this all mean anyway.

Holy Daze

Easter must be getting nearer, and I would forget sometimes if it weren't for the newspapers and advertisements telling me so. For this weeks newspapers are full of ads reading "Join us during Holy Week", "Holy Week and Easter 2008", and the schedules for the Church Palm Sunday, Blessing of Palms and the Holy Eucharist and watch through the night, Good Friday, liturgy of the passion, Holy Saturday, in celebration of our lord's resurrection and children's Easter egg hunt, Saturday anticipated mass, Sunday masses, morning prayer, closing of adoration, stations of the cross, solemn Easter vigil, Good Friday Blues, Peace Now Concert, Easter Day: the day of resurrection, procession with strings, brass, piano, organ, full bands, handbells, children's choir and the list of church events goes on and on. And this Holy Week thing is making me wonder, are churches the most segregated congregated places on planet earth? I just realized that every time I want to go to church, I have to find a church mass, communion and religious worship service for my "Demonination" my nationality. For what reason can't all churches welcome everyone regardless of your race, color or creed. The one place where one goes to find God and be free is not free, it's segregated by nationality and denominations. It's either all Christian, all Protestant, all Jewish, all Episcopalian, all Catholic, all Muslim, all Buddhist or all something else. This Tower of Babel confusion of the languages, cultures and nations thing has got me confused. And what if I want to go to church with someone who is not my nationality? We'd have to look around really hard to find a church that would accept both of our nationalities. I do believe there are some free, liberal, multicultural and diverse churches who welcome everyone such as Interfaith, Unitarian and Universalist churches who approach faith, religion and spirituality in a non traditional, creedless and non dogmatic way and have no creedal requirements imposed on their members. Times Square Church in Manhattan is an example of this. But for the most part, churches have always remained segregated. I am losing faith in the churches for this reason, they seem Saint Hypocritical and Saint Elitist in their God loves you for who you are speeches. Where can I go to find God and not be judged by the color of my skin? Should I just become an Atheist? Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. Happy Easter.

A Bill

And there it was in the Yahoo headlines yesterday. A news article titled "D.C. gun ban's effectiveness questioned". And just the idea that this is even a headline these days is an amazing thing to me, the fact that people are actually questioning gun violence. Apparently the article went on to state that one of the toughest gun laws in the nation took effect in the District of Columbia, essentially outlawing the private ownership of new handguns in a city struggling with violence. Now if only everyone on planet earth would seek to outlaw and banish guns from everyone on the face of planet earth, everyone on planet earth would have a chance of being free from losing ones life for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. If only every state could follow suit to the District of Columbia and their gun bill, maybe every human being could have a chance at being free from fear. Again, I could cut and paste my blog entries over and over in my appeal to banish guns from every human being on the face of planet earth and to end the use of the images of guns in all forms of advertising, marketing, film and television as I have written in blog posts of the past. Does not advertising influence society. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. And yet another person has lost their life to gun violence, and everyday someone loses their lives to acts of gun violence for whatever reason and no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. It is a story that has been told in yesterdays headlines and will be told in tomorrows headlines with no end in sight. It is an industry that feeds on itself, advertisement and sensational nationalism breeds crime which breeds news, which breeds crime, which breeds more advertisement which breeds more crime. Will the cycle of the beast that has it's grip on humanity ever end. Should not guns be abolished from humanity as a whole, from everyone on the face of planet earth. And then there is that constitutional 4th amendment, the right to bear arms that should be abolished or rewritten to abolish guns and replace them with sticks and stones or something. The idea that property, material goods are worth more than life. It seems as if it is that story "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" and the whole world is paying with the loss of human life which seems to be a disposal commodity in the war industry of people against humanity. Are the slaughters of wars debasing the value of human life? Will the beast, who or whatever it is, ever release it's grip on mankind? Are the standards of social behavior declining? Is there a worldwide moral breakdown? Is society collapsing? Where is the world headed, is there hope? And one could turn the page of the newspaper and forget about these stories and daily atrocities of the world, yet they still exist. And I watched that film Bowling For Columbine by Michael Moore the other day. It is an amazing docuentary to me never seen before in the history of time. And on the back cover jacket for this film it says: "Acclaimmed filmaker Michael Moore (Roger & Me) takes aim at America's love affair with guns and violence in this Oscar winning film that "demands attention" (People)! Mixing riveting footage, hilarious animation and candid interviews with everyone from the NRA's Charlton Heston to shock rocker Marilyn Manson, Bowling for Columbine is a "brilliant" (The Hollywood Reporter) tour de force of filmaking."
And I guess I misunderstood and did not read this article all the way through enough. As this article later went on to state, "On Tuesday, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments in a challenge to the city's handgun ban. The case is likely to produce the most important firearms ruling in generations and could undermine other gun control laws nationwide if the court takes an expansive view of the right to bear arms. The central question is whether the Second Amendment guarantees the right of individuals to bear arms, or instead protects the collective right of states to maintain militias".
I am one voice, one blogger. If only it were possible to go back in time before guns existed. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

These Oysters

I am on a seafood diet, when I see food, I eat it. I have heard that joke somewhere before. And then there are oysters. I have heard about them and their beautiful pearls they can contain a lot. And aren't they supposed to be some sort of aphrodisiac or something, though I am not exactly sure how that works. And if you are looking for Gulf oysters, Be Oyster Aware can help you to be aware, be informed, be cautious, be smart, and be sure. And they can also educate you about everything there is to know about the oyster. The have some great oyster recipes on their website also.

An Insurance Quote

Lately all I have been hearing and reading in the news lately is stories about impending economy doom. And even in the midst of a mortgage and foreclosures being at its highest rate ever, delinquent loans, delinquent credit, economy going down hill, recession, impending depression, United States Dollar going down hill, Uncle Sam going broke, Euro going uphill, stock market going even more downhill, the price of oil at its highest ever and the Federal Reserve Treasury can not print up enough money to cover it all fast enough crisis, there is still time for yet even more insurance quotes. As I guess that in the midst of the world falling down around ones self that one would still want to have some sort of security, at least financial security. And if you happen to be looking for Car Insurance, Autonet Insurance Group offers unbeatable commercial van insurance quotes online within the UK. They help you find the best quote for the type of insurance you are looking for. Autonet Insurance group offers business and home insurance quotes and more. If you can not find cheaper insurance with the same level than theirs, they will be happy to give you a refund. ABC No Rio: The Ides of March 2008

Hey Bloggers, if you happen to be in the neighborhood, there is an art opening and performance event that I will have a few pieces of artwork in tomorrow nite at ABC No Rio as part of their "The Ides of March 2008" building wide exhibition. And I remember ABC No Rio for seemingly forever now as one of those radical, alternative squat community spaces in the neighborhood of the Lower East Side that has seemingly survived gentrification, genocide, the sellout and buyout of the squats and still exists to function with their cool and hip events over the years. ABC No Rio has been all art and politics for as long as I can remember.

You are invited to this event. A bit of the heritage of the art scene in the lower east side including many of our friends from the Ridge Street Artists

Show: "Ideas of March"; Collaborative projects
Installation : " Sublime Subprime " by The Ridge Street Artists
Location: ABC No Rio

Show opens Friday, March 14th 7-11 pm: Performances start at 10 pm

Artists will include

Stuart Nicholson,Karni Dorell,Doug Campbell,Jens Veneman,Ursula Clark,Bill Nogosek,Carla Cubit,Bob Powers,Sue Powers,Nancy Kolbert,Fran de Montfalcon,Ed Rosko,Roger Sayre,Vernita n’ Cognita,Amy Shapiro,Maria Castanos,Sheila Linz,Daniel Falghero,Richard Brachman,Metta Haka,Andrzej Bialuski,Heather Driscoll,David Rodgers,Jill Ziccardi,Barbara Listenik,Heather Driscoll,Jennifer C. Protas,Jennifer Bowen,Mark Planisek,Michael Delia,Michelle Hill,Roger Sayre,Peter Barnett,Sam Selvaggio,Suzanne Broughel,Richard Humann

Below is a description of the concept behind the installation Conceptual Idea
Title: Sublime Subprime

In coordination with the recent mortgage crisis and real estate trends, the Sublime Subprime relates the history of a circle artists in New York who were a part of a Lower East Side Gallery, The Ridge Street Gallery. These artists collaborated and took part in exhibitions at the Gallery located at 124 Ridge Street between 1984 and 2000. The gallery eventually became displaced, losing its location to higher rents and gentrification. The individual artist’s history since and during that time will be displayed along with current work mounted on photo and drawn reproductions of the wall of the gallery. The reminiscence of lost space (given the changes in the Lower East Side and throughout NY) will be felt along with a snapshot of their individual histories. The title refers not only to the current mortgage crisis (even though many of these artists were never even able to afford a subprime mortgage) but also to the sublime nature of artists who start a turn around in an urban area only to be ultimately pushed out as subprime members of the community. Artists chose their vocation and/or are called into their line or work through inspiration or a drive to create. The shared nature of this creation of attracts them to urban areas. That their place remains on the fringe of urban society insures two things: one, without proper programs and funding (whether artistic or habitat-related) they will have to leave these urban areas; or the viewed artistic endeavor in such urban areas will become the sole territory of those who have the money to create.

And Now The Wheat Is Dying

Revelation 6:6
Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

That proceeding phrase is a phrase I just posted for "The bees are dying", not even a month ago. And now the wheat is dying so says todays am New York. And so says all of those other news reports that have been in the news lately about the price of wheat is going up become it is becoming scarce, because farmers are requesting corn instead of wheat for alternative fuel, and so the price of bread goes up, or something like that. And now todays am New York says "A new virus is striking wheat". And now the wheat is dying of some deadly disease, much like the bees, were and/or dying of some mysterious disease, and much like the bats who are now dying of some mysterious virus just this past week. Is this all related. Is this the beginning of the eco apocalypse. And what about that housing foreclosure crisis, economy stock market downfall of the United States Dollar versus the Euro, delinquent loans and mortgages, oil at its highest price ever recession, depression story. That's a whole another blog posting. Where is the world headed, if anywhere. Have a great day.

And Now The Bats Are Dying

Oh my goodness. And now the bats are dying. I know because someone just posted the following comment on my other blog in response to a posting I just posted about "The Bees Are Dying". And it must be true because I just looked at all of those news articles on the Internet and there they were: "Why Are Thousands of Bats Dying in NY?", "What's Killing The Bats Of The Northeast?", "Strange Malady Wreaks Havoc on Bat Population", "Bat deaths linked to climate change", "Bats in Northeast Are Mysteriously Dying", "White nose ailment threatens Northeast bats", and the list of articles goes on and on... And that comment on my other blog has me completely tripped out now. And those religious fanaticism, end of the world, beginning of the end, technology suffering planet mother earth, global warming, climate change, prophetic, apocalypse, eco apocalyptic, Armageddon, 2012, anti Christ, Nostradamus, the canary in the coal mine, are the scorpions on their way now thoughts start going through my mind again. And what about that Albert Einstein bee barometer quote: "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man," Does Wikipedia have an answer for this? And what about the birds, the bees, the flowers, the fish, the wildlife, Antarctica, the polar bears, the polar axis, the magnetic field, the whole ecological system. What does this all mean? Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Chris from Philly wrote:

Though I am personally damaged by exposure to cell phones and other sources of EMF, you should know that the connection between bees and cell phones was based on a mistaken reading of a paper that actually had to do with the base stations of home cordless phones. It was also a lousy study, and no one is seriously researching that angle currently.

One theory about the bees says that this die-off is due to the combined stress of everything wrong commercial beekeepers do to maximize profit.

On the other hand, if something specific is responsible for the collapse of the bees immune systems, we can look either to new pesticides (neonicitinoids like imidacloprid), or the toxins engineered into GMO crops, or the genetic engineering process itself (which may nightmarishly leave so-called "naked dna" open to recombination with the dna of other organisms at random).

Also, check out the "White Nose Syndrome" which is killing off bats in Vermont and New York State. As with the bees, something has harmed their immune systems, leaving them vulnerable to what may be a very common and usually harmless fungus/mold. I think these two problems are related, as these bats will eat half their weight in bugs every night, so you can see how rapidly they would bioaccumulate any toxin present in the bugs (or bees).

Hold on tight, we're in for a bumpy ride.

Hey Bloggers, sometimes it seems as if life is falling down around me, especially when I turn on the world news and read the daily atrocities of the day, enough to make me think that these are the last days of something and that it is the beginning of the end of something else in my religious fanaticism thoughts. Newton Creek

Somehow I wound up talking about that Newton Creek oil spill in Greenpoint from decades or centuries ago with a few friends the other day. And this conversation drifted from Buffalo, New York from where the subject of Chernobyl came up, to somehow Newton Creek and Greenpoint. And I guess the two can be related somehow, big accidents and disasters from oil spills and nuclear reactors from former industrial towns that leaves its inhabitants cancer prone from its fallout and effects years later. And I could actually see the oil seeping into the water of this creek when I rode a bike there with a friend sometime ago. The Newton Creek area seems to be a wasteland type of an area in the midst of an empire state of New York City as its backdrop. And I am always hearing and reading stories about this place in the local newspapers. And I can even smell its heavy stench in the air from far away in the next neighborhood over from Greenpoint of what seems like raw sewage when I take the L train to Bedford Avenue and stand on the corner of Bedford and North 7th Street in Williamsburg, across the street from the neighborhood Salvation Army and the now trendy and indie rock hipster main drag capital of the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn that exists in the midst of an Empire State of New York as its backdrop. And it makes me want to walk around wearing a gas mask for the smell sometimes. And then my other friend says something about this oil spill was the biggest oil spill ever, and that this oil spill was bigger than the Exxon oil spill years ago or something like that, though I am not sure if this is correct, and that the cancer rate is higher amongst the population of people that live in Greenpoint. And another friend comments about how she has been watching a bunch of different documentaries about this very same topic, as she lives in that very same neighborhood. And In case you may be interested in watching some of these documentaries, here is one about Brooklyn that is called Toxic Brooklyn. Help save planet mother earth. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

These Events

For some reason I do not see this blog every too often as usual these days, and yet here I go blah bloggng about events of the day again because I see them listed everywhere and also because hey, it's less writing sometimes, especially when I find myself in bloggerland with blogger burnout approaching. And in my attempt to maintain my other blog, that other blog seems as if it wants to confuse me and give me twice as much work sometimes, and it also seems as if it is becoming a replica of this blog. So as I was blah blogging again, what's up with that Frigid New York Festival 2008 February 27th - March 9th, that has been listed everywhere this past month.
