Michael Jackson

And with the news of the day that seems as if it is prempting all other news. Michael Jackson, the king of pop, has passed away from cardiac arrest, and according to TMZ.com, as yet another victim of hollywood and psychiatry, painkillers, morphine and demerol. And I found myself posting this following post on this blog a while ago:

Hey Bloggers, and somehow I came across this video while youtubeing on YouTube the other day in search of youtubeness and that "Claudine" movie from the sixties, that lead me to "Sparkle" that other classic movie from I think the 80's that then led me somehow to Donny Hathaway,a composer who has songs in these films. And his songs seem as if they can bring the holy ghost to one with their gospel overtones. And it is really cool to me the idea that one can watch whole films and television shows on YouTube for if nothing else to do, seemingly hours at a time, endless. And so in my search for this Donny Hathaway, Giving Up (Live At The Astrodome) video that came up. it was somehow written that Donny Hathaway was another one of those entertainers who died a tragic death and whose life was cut short, possibly as the result of Hollywood production companies, psychiatry and its psychotropic medications of bug spray chemical lobotomies mainly. And this entertainer seems to have passed along the lines of so many countless entertainers and classic legends as Marilyn, Anna, Keith, Kurt, Elvis and other entertainers of hollywood who could have possibly become victims of hollywood, the mental death system, psychiatry and contracts. And Psychiatry Kills. Abolish involuntary forced psychiatric treatment. No one is free while others are oppressed. And I do not believe in mental illness. I have always thought of it as problems in living. And those EDP emotionally disturbed people are everyday people to me. And I have always thought of psych cia tricks as legalized drug dealers, mass murderers in white coats, an industry bigger than the war industry originating in Nazi Germany whose origin is of eugenics and genocide. And for all things alternatives to psychiatry, Mind Freedom is a good website to visit for human rights in the mental health system. And what, if anything does this have to to do with a No Police State. Have a great entertainment day.

The Lord's Prayer

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto the dust shalt thou return. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave whither thou goest. So man lieth down, and riseth not, till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. For in death, there is no remembrance of thee; in the grave who shall give thee thanks?, What man is he that liveth and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?
And these are all passages and verses from the Layman's Bible Encyclopedia on the topic of death that I find around me. And sometimes it seems as if the world is spinning out of control and that Poodwaddle World Clock with its statistics of life, birth, death, population, illness, crime, accidents and environment is very much a part of humanity and this world. And demons and spirits are all around us on this planet of earth. And so there was another tragic airplane accident miles from Brazil where jet debris was found in the Atlantic ocean that made headlines the other week. And if I recall, it is another tragedy of life that has happened in times past. Who knows the hour or their death? Has anyone ever spoken to the dead? And I found myself posting an entry about another Brazil plane crash a while ago on this blog before as follows:

Reading the news on the Yahoo homepage and around the world today is awful, God awful, whoever God may be, on any given day these days. Amongst the many cacophony and anomaly of disasters that take place daily that are too many for me to follow, man made and natural, there lies yesterdays disaster. A Brazilian airliner crashes and all of the passengers have lost their lives and the length of their days has been shortened. The statue of Christ the Redeemer is located in Brazil, and it is beautiful. Unfortunately plane crashes happen every so often much like many other man made disasters in this world. This news makes me want to pray for the latest tragedy and the possible profit before people motive and misfortune that has become the result and it makes me wonder about how if you can use the word precious, human life is and how ones life can end without notice and that all humans are prone to accidents and are at risk of losing their lives at any given moment whether by war, plague, famine, wild beasts or disease. One can never know when their number is up or who can predict the day of ones death, who is exempt from death and who knows what to morrow will bring. Time and chance happens to us all. Humanity, much like the beasts of the fields and the birds of the air is subject to the death lottery in life. And death is a part of life. Brazil has declared a national day of mourning as a result of its worst plane disaster in history. And Lord willing, I also think of the Lords Prayer. If one believes.

Our Father, which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
in earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.

An Oliva NYC Nite

And so I found myself at that Oliva Restaurant & Bar the other night in search of a band that seems to have transformed itself into another band performing an episode from some sort of band drama there that night and the hosting of an illusion of some sort. And what a confusing Oliva Restaurant and Bar live music East Village night scenario it was there indeed on the New York City music scene of bands who can sometimes seem as if they are other bands. And so I found myself in Times Square yesterday watching The Underground Horns and The Naked Cowboy performing at Duffy Square. And their performances so New York City rocked that I thought to post this video of them. Have a great New York City music day.

A Brooklyn Celebration

And even though it sometimes seems as if the world can be going to hell in a handbasket and the world is falling down all around me, I still find myself blah blogging for some reason. And then every so often I find myself posting blog entries about events because, hey, it's less writing sometimes. And still I sometimes ask myself, how do those other bloggers out there bloggerlandville do it? How does one maintain and attempt to maintain more than one blog with content whenever possible. Is there an internet guru to answer this question. And so again, I find myself posting another one of those events in that city of New York that seemingly never sleeps, as follows:

Celebrate Brooklyn: Yes, it seems to be that time of year again for this really cool annual summer concert series of music, dance, word and film festival out there in Prospect Park, Park Slope Brooklyn at the Prospect Park bandshell that makes for good picnics on that grassy lawn. And some of those performers for this years festival include: David Byrne, Goran Bregovic and his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, David Rudder, Samantha Thornhill, Ethel, Gutbucket, Le Nave de los Monstruos, Femi Kuti and Positive Force, Melvin Gibbs’ Elevated Entity, Blonde Redhead, Phosphorescent, Rebel Diaz, Cucu Diamantes, Los Amigos Invisibles, Aterciopelados, Streb, They Might Be Giants, Claudia Marshall, Kronos Quartet, Luminescent Orchestrii, Robert Cray, The Sweet Divines, King Sunny Ade, Mandingo Ambassadors, Abena Koomson, Sing Sing, Yasser Darwish, Jackson Browne, Stephen Petronio Company, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Holmes Brothers, Kailash Kher, Electro Morocco, Burning Spear, Naomi Shelton and The Gospel Queens, John Scofield, Soulive, Christian Scott, Dumpstaphunk, Grace Potter, The Nocturnals, Deer Tick, The London Souls, TV On The Radio, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal, Animal Collective and more. And this festival Prospect Park Rocks.

And then there's going to be a house party:

It's time to party. Dance till you can't dance no more. Underground Horns will be playing at the EastRev underground loft party, June 27th, at The Lake in Bushwick Brooklyn with Karuhata, Alex Genin, Marionette Roulette, DJ Emma Sound Sista, DJ Joro Boro, Big Sister and more. And I thought to post this flyer of their event above because it looks way cool to me with it's colors and all. And this event Bushwick Rocks.

Oh, and then there's also Make Music New York June 21st. And this entry I just copy from my Myspace page:

An Interesting Email

Hey Bloggers, and this is one of those emails I received from a friend as one of those group emails that I thought was kind of funny so I thought to post it on this blog as follows. And this is one of those emails that could require a sense of humor. And so I thought to post this passage also because hey, it's less writing sometimes in an attempt to maintain content for this blog and my other blog whenever possible:

My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE: "If you two are going to kill each other, do it outside - I just finished cleaning!"
My mother taught me RELIGION: "You better pray that stain will come out of the carpet."
My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL: "If you don't behave, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
My mother taught me LOGIC: "Because I said so, that's why."
My mother taught me IRONY: "Keep crying and I'll give you something to cry about."
My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS: "Shut your mouth and eat your supper!"
My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM: “Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck!"
My mother taught me about STAMINA: "You'll sit there 'till all your spinach is finished."
My mother taught me about WEATHER: "It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."
My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY: "If I've told you once, I've told you a million times - Don't Exaggerate!!!"
My mother taught me THE CIRCLE OF LIFE: "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."
My mother taught me about BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION: "Stop acting like your father!"
My mother taught me about ENVY: "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do!"

Have a great seemingly funny passage day.

War

3 dead, 3 hurt in Ga. shooting; professor sought, 2 killed, 6 hurt in Ariz graduation party shooting killed in Michigan community college shooting, 4 shot, 1 dead at Korean retreat center in Calif.,Student shoots 3 in Greek college, kills himself., Ala. man kills estranged wife, 3 others, himself, Police: 5 children, father die in murder-suicide, Massacre kills 12 at immigration center in NY, Police: NC nursing home shooting kills at least 6, Man kills 4 at gathering in Miami, then kills self, Teen gunman dead after killing 15 at German school, Eleven killed in Alabama shooting spree, Church shooting suspect left 'Last Day Will' card, LA man upset over job kills wife, 5 kids, himself, Infant, 5 others shot near Mardi Gras parade route.
The war is not meant to be won. It is meant to be continuous. And I think that is one of those quotes from that George Orwell nineteen eighty four novel that seems to be all about totalitarianism or some other isms all the time in life here on planet earth. And those above articles are all Yahoo News stories that have been sitting around in my email inbox for a month or so now that have either been not found or expired. And I am not sure what all of those articles that I posted in this entry above may mean, though they all seem to have one thing in common. The fact that another person has lost their life to gun violence, yesterday, today and tomorrow with no end in sight, for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. And it is enough to have one not want to leave home for fear of never making it back. And sometimes one does not even have to leave home. A mans enemies are those of his own household. And brother is against brother, and nation is against nation, and king is against king. And guns are the worst invention ever. The idea that if one has a gun, it can be used to take another human beings life. If only guns could be abolished from every human being on the face of planet earth and the image of guns banished from every form of marketing, media and advertising. And it is a vicious cycle of a death industry of some sort of beast that feeds upon itself. And it is Kali Yuga. Where is the world headed. Is another world possible. And what does this have to do with a No Police State. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Summertime

And so it must be rolling up again at the end of spring and the beginning of summer again this year as that Gregorian calender on the wall and the weather outside here in that country of North America could say so. And I also know it is summertime coming up because this past weeks edition of the Village Voices Summer Arts Guide 2009 says so. And every so often I find myself blah blogging about events of this blog because hey, it's less writing sometimes. And some of those on the music scene and be seen music events and beyond that they have listed going on this summer seems to be that annual River To River Festival in that City of New York that's happening with it's opening date of Memorial Day, May 31st, that's video, photo, festivals, music and more with performers that include Bang on A Can Marathon, Conor Oberst, Arlo Guthrie, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, New York City Opera, Brian Stokes, Mitchell, Zvi Dance, Luminescent Orchestrii, Emmet Cohen Trio, A Castle Clinton Tribute to Woodstock - Richie Havens, King Britt Sun Ra Lectric:Saturn Never Sleeps, Miles Davie Electric Funk And Beyond with Badal Roy, Michael Henderson, Kenny Wessell , Karsh Kale and Timeline, Junior Mance and more as their list of performing artists goes on.

And then there's the

Vision 14 Festival from Arts for Art, that who's on the jazz scene festival that seems to happen yearly. And this festival is happening this summer also at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in that City of New York with performers Marshall Allen and the Sun Ra Arkestra, Fred Anderson, Billy Bang, Rob Brown, Roy Campbell, Ernest Dawkins, Douglas Ewart, Charles Gayle, Peter Brotzmann Full Blast Trio, Ras Moshe, William Hooker, Jason Kao Hwang, Kidd Jordan, Joe McPhee, Milford Graves, Joe Morris, Sunny Mujrray, Zim Ngqawana, William Parker, Michelle Rosewoman, Matthew Ship, Lisa Sokolov and Butch Morris.

And there must be lots and lots of more seemingly endless events, happenings and beyond going on in this town because as far as I know, it's that city of New York, that city that never sleeps. Or does it. Have a great event day.

A Grate Performance

And so I found myself at Times Square this past Memorial Day weekend listening to their "Grate Performers - Best of the Buskers" entertainment series of The Underground Horns, The Colin Huggins Show, Xylopholks, NYC Transformerz, some serious break dancers with a gymnastic ability worthy of the Olympics themselves and other buskers who were busking away and entertaining indeed. And what a theater district, street fair and festival that was to behold indeed in all of its neon lights and glory. And that entertainment series of musicians, magicians, dancers, singers and other performance artists is coming and is here this summer to the new Father Duffy Square, 46th and Broadway at the Crossroads of the World in the Great White Way of that city of New York. And Times Square is going green, it's the new thing with its Green Light for Midtown program and will be closed to vehicle traffic, seemingly a first in history as far as I can remember in my New York Days. And the Naked Cowboy was and seemingly is there in all of his Naked Cowboy, boots and guitar glory. And a fixture he can be as synonymous with the name of Times Square itself these days and times. And lo and behold what a sight to behold, the sight of seemingly an oasis beach complete with lounge chairs and palm trees, all in the middle of the street of Broadway between Times Square and Herald Square with its car free pedestrian walkway plaza. And that pedestrian plazas will be having events and concerts throughout the summer. And so I thought to post that photo and video above of that busking above ground and under ground band The Underground Horns on that Memorial Day and at the Times Square Promenade. And that music, hot dogs and free bar b que ribs rocked that day of a memorial. Have a great Times Square day.
