Screening of ultra-rare 1968 film 'Spaceways' by Ed English featuring extensive footage of Sun Ra house at 48 east 3rd Street, NYC, plus Arkestra appearance at Carnegie Hall
Also showing: TV concert from Berlin, 1970 - outrageously psychedelic
It has been nearly 15 years since the Sun Day that carried Sun Ra to yet another world, and the waves of effect from the infinitively creative mind of Sun Ra have entered into every genre of music as we, today, are experiencing. Especially we see his more immediate influence in the musics of artists as engraving as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, George Clinton, Laurie Anderson, Fela Kuti and Pink Floyd. Countless rock groups and creative improvisational ambient artists have followed Sun Ra's leads into musical revelations. Sun Ra re-set the peripherals of music's seeming limitations with mesmerizing illuminations. And like the velocity of time travel, Sun Ra's music becomes with every moment more magnificently vital.
On Sunday, August 5th in the Old Office at the Knitting Factory, the Sun Ra Impossible Space Circus will once again perform from original charts original adaptations and interpretations of Sun Ra's music.
Being the 3rd presentation of the Space Circus, in the past having included Sun Ra Arkestra alumni Juini Booth, Vincent Chancey, Terry Adkins and On Ka'a Davis, this promises to be yet another resplendent concert.

Yogaville
As I had mentioned a few posts earlier, it's gym time. Free gym time. And as part of my attempt to do the whole gym route for free, I thought I'd try one of those yoga classes to yoga my city living stress away. And I am not sure how I can sit in one of those classes and chant ohmmmm... to destress and calm down to bliss and nirvana when I really wind up chanting Ohhhmmmm, I owe someone two hundred billion dollars and can't pay them back and the walls are all falling down around me and how is this class going to change that ohmmmm...and relax? And besides, how is it possible to totally be all spiritual and reach a state or nirvana and relax from cares when one can hear construction going on and the sounds of the city right outside the door and on the other side of the wall as it was in this classroom. And so in the midst of yoga posing, one tries to recreate and meditate to a yoga state on this date.

A Full Moon
According to the Gregorian calendar, today is a full moon on planet earth. You can see it when you look at the sky. Doesn't that full moon have some sort of meaning in the universe? Does it mean anything? Isn't a full moon spiritual, mysterious, mythical and magical or something? Could it mean stay away from lunatics, as lunar is the moon. Could it mean beware of werewolves and watch out for the ocean waves and high tides? Is the full moon Dracula's favorite day on the month? Does it mean a new month is here? What do the astrologers and psychics have to say about the full moon and its phases and cycles, and don't witches like using symbols of the moon for some reason? Well, yin and yang, wax and wane, whatever the meaning of the full moon, if there is one, happy full moon day.

The Lives of Others
Das Leben der Anderen. The Lives of Others. That is a German foreign film that is now showing in theaters in New York that I saw the other day. It won an Academy Award for best foreign film and it is one of those films I could watch over and over. The film is political, for it addresses the communist regime, the totaliarism system and the dictatorship in East Germany, then the GDR, before the fall of the Berlin wall. More so, the film is educational to me for I did not know artists and writers were under surveillance by Stasi agents, spies and informants who were sometimes even ones own wife or husband and blacklisted for being subversive under the dictatorship of the state of the Staats Sicherheit, State Security in real life as was depicted in the film. This film reminds me of the book nineteen eighty four all the way ministry, inner and outer party and one aspect of the film is that the people prevail. The music is awesome and that Sonata For A Good Man track rocks. Will another film as interesting as this ever come along. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?
Romance
And what about love and romance. That's a touchy subject for relationships can be tricky sometimes and who wants to be alone without friends, family or loved ones. Disney Kicks The Habit
Wow. I read this article in yesterdays AM New York and Metro newspapers that Disney has kicked the habit of smoking in its films. Disney will discourage smoking in its family oriented films. This is groundbreaking and that's great. Now if only Disney could kick the habit of using the image of guns in its films, progress would be made. And not just Disney, every form of advertising. If only Disney and every other advertiser could ban the images of guns on their posters, commercials, films and television shows then maybe there would be hope for the state of this world. Apparently the Disney committee held some hearings about the effect of movie images on children and that the studio would place anti-smoking public service announcements of DVDs of any future films that feature cigarette smoking. Walt Disney shares your concerns regarding deaths due to cigarette smoking. That's great. Now if only Disney, and not just Disney but other media companies, major Hollywood studios and every advertiser on planet earth could could follow Disney's lead and share their concerns about deaths due to the use of the images of guns in advertising and kick the habit of using the images and depiction of guns in advertising and discourage the use of guns in their advertising campaigns and hold committee hearings about the effect of movie images and guns on children and place anti-gun public service announcements and messages on DVDs and in theaters everywhere, that would be great. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Jazz Comes to the Bowery
And so I wandered outside last night with this digital camera I have to play around with to take photos of my friends band, Funk Monk at this really cool restaurant and lounge called Mannahatta. My friends band gave me a really good excuse to dust off the camera and use it for the night. Digital cameras are awesome and I find technology amazing these days. And so I took the above photo of my friends band just for the purpose of posting it on this blog. They are all jazz and hip hop and have played around the city at Nublu, Knitting Factory, the Williamsburg Jazz Festival, and even the New York City subway as part of the Musicians Under New York Program. And I am also taking my friend gig as an excuse to experiment with YouTubeing. How does one YouTube? Well, I made a video of them there also with this digital camera, low light and all and just posted it on You Tube with trial and error. I can now possibly become a YouTube addict to replace all of my other Internet website addictions I have going on at the moment. And that Mannahatta place is awesome with their new Summer Jazz Series and Funk-N-Flava Jazz Wednesdays. They have an open Jazz Jam session every Tuesday in July if you are in the neighborhood. Jazz, Jazz, Jazz. Play Jazz away the day.
The Bugs
Fire ants? What are fire ants? Ants that are on fire? Well I just asked my friend what are fire ants and he doesn't know either. Well if you happen to be suffering from fire ant infestations, Fire Ants Guide can help you with information about fire ant control. Their website provides helpful information and advice about various ways of getting rid of fire ant infestations. Their guide seems to tell you everything you've always wanted to know about fire ants and how to eliminate them. This is a sponsored post.

It's Time
It's time. It's time to go to the gym for free. If you are a try and do the whole gym route for free with trial membership passes person like me, it's time to go to the gym again. This time it's New York Sports Clubs. I saw them out there on the street yesterday around 14th street and 6th avenue spinning that get your free one week trial membership wheel yesterday and sure enough I spun that wheel and got my free one week membership for all the free treadmills, stationary bikes, racquetball, tennis, track running ,weight lifting, stretching, personal training, exercise classes, mind, body and spirit, sauna and steam room, swimming and gymming I can get. And of course if daily life in New York is a workout already with of all the subway stair climbing, fifth floor walkup to my apartment and carrying those heavy grocery bags exercise routine then maybe you don't want or need that gym fitness exercise routine. And if you do, there is probably someone spinning that New York Sports Clubs wheel in a city near you. Have a great day.
In The End
And so I have finally come to the realization and conclusion that in the end all there is is Google. The sitemeter tells me so, that in the end all there is is Google, or maybe an AOL or Yahoo search every once in a blue moon. But mostly, all there is is Google in the end. Everything Internet seems to all be powered by Google and now that SEO terms gives a whole new meaning to me that I never realized before when I started this blog that no matter how much I try to get visitors to this site by posting on every forum and board that I can think of, artificially inflating the number of visitors to this site on a temporary basis, that in the end when I run out of blogger steam in the blogosphere and those numbers start to disappear from trying to promote this site, that in the end, all it comes down to is Google, who seems to keep this page alive with its search engine on a consistent basis. As long as I write some sort of content for this site and do nothing else as far as promoting this blog, it is Google who is there visiting. And now I truly understand what the hype is all about regarding that SEO search engine optimization thing. And how or if that Google page rank thing relates to that SEO thing I am not sure as all that Alexa is your blog in the top one billion ranking system, link popularity and other site statistic features are still too confusing for me to comprehend. And it's sort of funny to me how I notice that the words Google and Blogger share most of the same letters. How interesting. So if there is nothing else, it seems like in the end, There is always Google.

Gold
Gold. What can I say about Gold? A lot. That song comes to mind, "Money, money, money, money. Money"! or "There's gold in them there hills", or , "When was that California Gold Rush and is there still some gold left to find in the dirt?" Or, what's that verse in the Bible? "For the love of money is the root of all evil, and while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows..." And besides the fact that I always need money in this world there is a lot more I can think of to say about money. If you are looking for gold, you can purchase gold, silver and other precious metals in coin or ingot form at Monex Deposit Company. You can invest in precious metals and have gold when the stock market goes dry or if money runs out or disappears from the economy. Monex Deposit Company is a trusted name in precious metals for more than forty years.
The Good Samaritan
And now reading the latest news, there is flooding in England, half of America is on fire from wildfires, and an earthquake has happened in Japan, enough devastation to make me think the beginning of the end is near or at least global warming is in action. And is that "climate change" term a nice way of saying the world is about to end or transform in some sort of cataclysmic way? Is it now The Day After Tomorrow, the movie? Yesterday a friend taught me a new term to tell anyone who asks me how to blog; "RTFM". Read the freaking manual. I thought that was kind of funny. And the story of the good Samaritan also crossed my mind yesterday. What's that story about? Doesn't it have something to do with if you see someone fallen and stranded by the side of road, do not pass him by, help him. And what is the moral of that story? Who is my brother and my sister? Better is a neighbour and a friend near than a brother afar. There is a parable to be found here somewhere. Compassion. Helping one another, helping the poor, the sick, the lame, the elderly, the home bound, and whoever else in need of help. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink. For thou shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord (whoever the Lord may be..) shall reward thee. Proverbs, if you believe.

I Need A Vacation
As I seem to be writing endlessly this past month, it's summertime. I could use a vacation and I am not exactly sure from what and to where. I was able to experience the world on the travel channel, Globe Trekker TV today for my cyber vacation and I went on a virtual reality vacation without having to leave home and travel through the mass sea of humanity in the surrounding area of this neighborhood. I was able to turn on the television and watch the travel channel and pretend I was travelling to the places I saw on TV. I visited lots of mountains and lakes and stayed in a lot of hostels and hotels and I even visited the Danish Christiana squat in Denmark, their community is freedom and utopia although they are oppressed by the polizei policies there. I saw a lot of the coolest rituals and places today, all through someone else's eyes. Wow, what an adventure I had today from the convenience of home, all for free. There are some good programs on TV despite the majority of television being crap. Now back to reality. Have a great day.

The Lord's Prayer
Reading the news on the Yahoo homepage and around the world today is awful, God awful, whoever God may be, on any given day these days. Amongst the many cacophony and anomaly of disasters that take place daily that are too many for me to follow, man made and natural, there lies yesterdays disaster. A Brazilian airliner crashes and all of the passengers have lost their lives and the length of their days has been shortened. The statue of Christ the Redeemer is located in Brazil, and it is beautiful. Unfortunately plane crashes happen every so often much like many other man made disasters in this world. This news makes me want to pray for the latest tragedy and the possible profit before people motive and misfortune that has become the result and it makes me wonder about how if you can use the word precious, human life is and how ones life can end without notice and that all humans are prone to accidents and are at risk of losing their lives at any given moment whether by war, plague, famine, wild beasts or disease. One can never know when their number is up or who can predict the day of ones death, who is exempt from death and who knows what to morrow will bring. Time and chance happens to us all. Humanity, much like the beasts of the fields and the birds of the air is subject to the death lottery in life. And death is a part of life. Brazil has declared a national day of mourning as a result of its worst plane disaster in history. And Lord willing, I also think of the Lords Prayer. If one believes.
Our Father, which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
in earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Peace on earth

Blog About Her Blog
So I finally found a friend who has a blog and I read it the other day, well not all of it but some of it. I have always wanted to find someone else to talk to as a blogger. Her blog is really cool. I can sit and read it all day. It's mostly a story about her life and her daily routines, much like a public diary and a journal only she isn't attempting blogs to riches as I am yet, and I can't mention her name and she doesn't want me to tell anyone the name of her blog which I don't really understand because what's the point of having a blog if you do not want anyone to read it, or maybe it's that gossip amongst friends factor. Her blogging site is Live Journal and a live journal it is indeed. I find out more about her in her blog than I do in real life. She talks about her job as as artist model, her family, the events she goes to and lots of other stuff and her style of writing is interesting to read. She writes really long novels with each posting and I don't know how she finds time to blog as her life seems so busy. I told her I am trying to blog to riches and she did not even know one can get paid to blog much like most people I tell the blogger story to these days but that doesn't seem to be the case when I turn on this computer and see the blogosphere filled with tons and millions and zillions of other blogger for bucks bloggers. Here is a really cool poem that she has on her site:
The best-laid plans o' mice an' men
Gang aft a-gley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain
For promised joy.
Robert Burns (1759-1796)
Of all the words of mice and men,
the saddest are these:

Subway Musicians
And so I find myself blah blogging about this same topic again. Are my blog topics repeating themselves? The harassment of New York City subway musicians, with or without a permit. And so I heard the same story happened again yesterday and may happen again and again with no end in sight. Again, is the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority becoming the New York City Metropolitan Terrorizer Association? My friends are members of the Music Under New York program. Their music rocks and will get you grooving. Their band plays their music, horns, drums, bucket drummers and shakers at the Times Square 42nd Street subway station weekly and just about every other time they show up to play, they are harassed, threatened, shut down and yesterday, physically ejected from the subway station by New York City transit cops, police policies and polizei. It's almost as if they are on the New York City subway most wanted list for that subway station, for yesterdays reason of the day was "Terror alert" and it seems as if civil liberties are disappearing at the speed of light in the name of security, terrorism and now the latest trend, "Plots". Again, what can one do in this situation except complain. I believe subway musicians are harassed daily more or less in the New York City subway system for noise volume, traffic congestion and various other reasons. Is there a support group for the trauma drama of subway musicians, a subway musicians union? As MUNY itself provides no support for this purpose. And so I did yet another goggle search. There is a really great resource website, City Lore that offers information about the rights of subway musicians (if you really have any), your rights and responsibilities, court decisions in your favor,(which by the way, should courts be boycotted?), that's a whole another blog post, the transit police, transit police fact check, subway station managers, legal assistance, performing on the streets and in the parks, our views, what do you think?, confrontation sheets and other sources. Since when is art a crime and what does this have to do with a No Police State? Have a great day.

Slavery
During times of deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.-George Orwell
Again, no one is free while others are oppressed and being held in bondage. I found myself calling myself a rent paying wage slave a few posts back and now the thought has occurred to me, what is slavery? Of course I can consult the internet bible dictionary, Wikipedia, but to me, what is slavery? What does that word mean? What does it translate to in another language? What is its origin? Okay, so I consulted Wikipedia. It's definition of slavery is: Slavic. Slavery is a social economic system under which certain persons known as slaves are deprived of personal freedom and compelled to perform labour or services. The term also refers to the status or condition of those persons, who are treated as the property of another person or household. Slaves are held against their will from the time of their capture, purchase, or birth, and are deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to receive compensation in return for their labour. As such, slavery is one form of unfree labour. Now that's interesting. So what is slavery to me again. Is it the Egyptians and the pyramids, the Serfs, the people from Africa, Uncle Tom or Jim Crow, or corporate wage slave. Is it upholding, promoting or a victim of capitalism. Is it war or being sold and traded and held captive. Is it a maid, a servant, a cater waiter, the hired help. As catering to the rich and wealth can be built on the backs of slaves. Is it debt. Is it being the property of another person. Is it people who intimidate you and are intimidated. Is it upholding the status quota. Is it uniform. Is it opposite the population of an owner of a population. Is it inherited by birth. What is the meaning of this word and who invented this concept of humanity?
Master and Slave. Lords of the land. Deliverance. Freedom and Liberty for all. Is another world possible? And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Superstitious?
Again I seem to be finding myself running out to things to blah blog about. And I find myself writing about events and a lot of holidays just to come up with ideas of something to write about for this blog. And how do the other bloggers in the blogosphere do it, especially the bloggers with a thousand blogs. Again I can barely maintain one blog, yet alone four or five blogs as I see a lot of others bloggers maintain. And so today the thought of the day is another holiday is here, or a significant date on the calendar has arrived. The day after tomorrow (not the movie), is Friday the 13th. Are you superstitious? Can you see things from beyond and out of the ordinary? If you are superstitious you might want to consider not getting out of bed or leaving home, for isn't the number 13 suppose to be considered bad luck? According to the Secret Language of Birthdays, the most misunderstood card in the Tarot is the 13th card of the Major Arcana, Death, which rarely is to be taken literally but signifies a letting go of the past in order to grow beyond limitations, metamorphically. Those born on the 13th of the month are ruled by the number 4 (1+3=4), and by the planet Uranus which is both erratic and explosive. The number 4 typically represents rebellion, idiosyncratic beliefs and a desire to change the rules. the number 13 is a powerful number which does carry the responsibility of using its power wisely or inviting self destruction. Well that is the number 13, but what about Friday the 13th, what does that mean? Or maybe you would want to leave home this day, but watch out for black cats, broken mirrors, ladders and cracks in the sidewalk. Happy Friday the 13th.

Bastille Day
No one is free while others are oppressed. Did you know that July 14th is Bastille Day? Maybe you do. If you do not know it already, Bastille Day is a national French holiday whose anniversary is celebrated each year with festivities commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris, France in 1789 which marked the beginning of the French Revolution. This prison symbolizes freedom for all. There will be lots of Bastille day events and parties, food and fun here in America also. And if the thought does not scare you, break the silence and remember the psychiatric prisoners. Psychiatry Kills. Mad Pride celebrates the human rights of people considered different by our society. It may be celebrated anytime but is most often observed in the month of July, usually on or around July 14, Bastille Day. 2007 marks the 26th anniversary of psychiatric survivors using Bastille Day to celebrate Mad Pride. The tradition of using Bastille Day as Mad Pride Day was started in New York by the Mental Patients Liberation Alliance and has since spread around the world. When the Bastille was stormed, two prisoners with psychiatric labels being detained there for that reason were freed. Mad Pride celebrations have grown directly out of an historic but little known international social change movement led by psychiatric survivors and mental health consumers that began in about 1970. MindFreedom International is one of the groups in this movement. The name Mad Pride got its start in London when activists there saw a Gay Pride event and got madly inspired. Mad Pride is not only for psychiatric survivors, it is open to all, whether or not you have been labeled by the psychiatric, psych-cia-trick system. Mad Pride is really about Human Pride. Do not allow our very humanity to be done in by a corporate mental health (death) system that has gone out of control. Stigmatize yourself with pride, celebrate mad pride. To find out more about Mad Pride events in your area visit Mind Freedom. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Happy Bastille Day.

More Summer Music Concerts
Information Is Strength. Knowledge Is Power.
I have been an avid reader of The Shadow newspaper forever since the beginning of time as a former squatter and now a rent paying wage slave tenant in the Lower East Side which is now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe. Their paper is great for everything superpolitics and saving the world. And while I am on the topic of writing about summer msic festivals as in the previous post, here is another cool music concert to check out if you are in the neighborhood. The shadow press and other groups have been the organizers of the first annual Squatter Mayday concerts and now the Blackkat concerts. Here is a MySpace email I received from them. Their concerts always rock. Happy summer music festivals again.

SPONSORS SOUGHT FOR CONCERT IN TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK:
The SHADOW, New York's only underground newspaper, has been publishing on the Lower East Side since 1989. Since 2005, we have been producing concerts in Tompkins Square Park celebrating homegrown NYC counter-culture, with bands, artists, speakers and information dissemination. More than just presenting music and talent from our area, we are emphasizing political awareness and community support of residents, local businesses and alternative venues in the face of rising rents and rampant gentrification.
Our next show will take place in Tompkins Square Park on the site of the bandshell on Sunday, July 29, 2007, from 2:00-6:00pm.
Featured bands will include:
> Iconicide
> Hammerbrain
> Reagan Youth
> Disassociate
> Nihilistics
> False Prophets
> The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black
In order for us to continue to produce shows of the highest quality, we are looking for community-based sponsors. We have three levels of suggested sponsorship, all of which are sliding scale, depending on what you can afford (we can work out whatever arrangement works for you):
> $100.00: Your logo and/or business name on our concert posters, leaflets and on our web sites: (http://shadowpress.org) (http://tsplive.org)
> $200.00: Same as the $100.00 level, plus your table in the park during the show from which you can sell or give out items and we'll give you a shout out from the stage
> $300.00: Same as the $200.00 level, plus a free ad in the next issue of the SHADOW
If you cannot sponsor, your donation in any amount would be greatly appreciated – we can accept checks made payable to: "SHADOW Press."
We thank you for your support!

My Garage
Garage storage in New York City? Great, I would love to have a garage to be able to store something. The most I can find in New York City is the fire escape and a closet that's already out of space. If you actually do have a garage and are looking for garage storage, Car Guy Garage carries every single product you can possibly imagine. Their bike rack looks handy as I sometimes find bikes difficult to store. They carry cabinets, workbenches, flooring and many other products for storage and for the garage. Car Guy Garage carries all the items you need to keep your garage storage in great shape. This is a sponsored post.
Summer Music Festivals
The earth is on fire. Ten different states in America are on fire today due to the heatwave, the drought and wildfires, enough to make me think the beginning of the end is near and for some reason I am posting about Summer Music Festivals today. It's summertime and summertime in New York City means lots of free outdoor music festivals. And June and July are not months to miss for fun and sun. There are calendar of events for River To River, Bryant Park , Celebrate Brooklyn, McCarren Park Pool and many other places for free outdoor music. If you happen to be in the neighborhood on July 22 at Central Park SummerStage, The Himalayas will be performing with Brazilian Girls, or is it Brazilian Girls will be performing with Himalayas conducted by Kenny Wollesen and Jonathon Haffner at 3pm. Cat Empire also performs. SummerStage is hipster heaven on this Sunday, when they feature two groove heavy groups and an avant-garde marching band. And if you have not heard yet, Brazilian Girls are this really cool band that has its origins at Nublu, this really cool club in the Lower East Side or East Village it is now called and The Himalayas are this really cool marching band that play at Nublu, Zebulon and other places and can play some serious marching band tunes to get you jumping. Both of these bands should have you jamming for the day. Be there or be square. Happy summer festivals.

God
All this writing about religion in the previous post has brought me to the topic of God. Besides, what better day to write about God than Sunday, Dios the day of worship of God and the day of rest. Do you believe in God, who is your God? That's another tricky question to me as who and what is God? Can you see him? Who are the Gods and by what name do you call them? Lord, Krishna, Jesus Christ, Dalai Lama, Meher Baba, Gandhi, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha, Yahweh, The Holy Spirit, The Father,The Prophet, Money, Gold? All or none of the above? Are you an Atheist and there is no God, deity or idol of worship? And what book do you read to follow your God? The Bible, the Koran, Watchtower, Awake! Sanskrit Hindu Times, Satan's Book of Worship, Wiccaology or Ten Ways To Follow My Idol? Is there a ritual to follow also? Babylon is busy. The religions and faiths of the world are many. What's God's purpose anyway? Is this person or object of worship suppose to save the world and redeem us in life and everlasting life? Is there life thereafter when we leave this universe. Who knows, as I have never talked to anyone who has died and come back to life to tell me. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Stone Hawk
I love pot, I used to squat, smoke pot and like it a lot. But now I got burnout. I could be in need of some rehab. Should drugs be legalized? What would NORML, Narco News and High Times have to say about this? If you are a junkie or a drugaddict, drug rehab may be just the place for you. Stone Hawk is a treatment center. They offer every kind of addiction and treatment service under the sun, because they were once addicted. Stoned Hawk, I mean Stone Hawk center is located just 5 miles from downtown Battle Creek, Michigan nestled in a quiet semi-residential area. The 58,000 sq. ft. building is surrounded by rolling hills and large oak trees. The lake is stocked for fishing and the serenity makes it complete, for an addiction recovery. I am not sure if there is a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, library or computer room there also. And if anyone asks just say we're High on Life. This is a sponsored post.
777, Lo and Behold
Hey Bloggers, Lo and Behold. Today is 777. July 7, 2007. This day must be significant because I see it in the headlines everywhere today with the title "What does this date mean?" The Yahoo homepage says today is a special date for weddings and love and that a record number of couples will wed today because of the date's alleged power. The MSN homepage says today you can watch the Live Earth global concerts for global warming and climate crisis awareness. What does 777 mean? Well, I have a bunch of wild guesses that it means 7, the number of completion, a holy number of God, the opposite of 666 with its dark meaning of Satan and the Antichrist. Astrologers may be having a field day with this number also. According to The Secret Language of Birthdays book, July seventh is the day of imaginative revelations. The zodiac sign Cancer. Revelations is a recurrent theme in the lives of July 7 people. So maybe it could have something to do with the book of Revelations and the end of the world? Those born on the seventh day of this month are ruled by the number 7 and by the planet Neptune, a watery planet. Is water related somehow, maybe as a blessing? The 7th card of the Major Arcana is the Chariot. Not sure what to make of that, maybe Christ in his chariot returns. What does the Wikipedia say, do they have an entry for this, what do the prophets say, do they have a prophecy for this? I must look to somewhere else to find the meaning of this day. Oh, I see something there now. The numbers 07.07.07 read upside down reads LO,LO,LO! Or OLLO, AL-OZ,Allah,OLOZ,0102,Yahweh,Jehova,JHVH, YHVH,YHWH,yoga,12.21.2012,part of the trinity. Lo and Behold. That is one of the secret meanings of the yoga guy pictured above. He depicts the progression of humanity and he is a recurrent theme to be interpreted in many ways that I like to use. Have a great 07/07/07 day.

Bad Hair Day
So do you really want to live that fabulous life I just wrote about in that previous posting? If you are looking to be fashion conscious and trendy when you go out to those hottest places and events on the town, you can wear the fliest outfit there is on planet earth and if you are having a bad hair day, that outfit may just not be happening, maybe. What's a bad hair day? Is it opposite a good hair day? Is it a lots of hair day or a no hair day? Is it a good mood day or a bad mood day? Is it all or none of the above? Long, short, straight, curly, kinky, wavy, frizzy, natural, permed; it's all about the hair or is it all about the hair? Looking through the classifieds in the back of the weekly Village Voice newspaper, half of the ads seem to be related to hair, hair fashions, hair beauticians and hair help. Hair is strength, ones crowning glory, maybe. It can be a touchy subject. Can it sometimes be one of those features of yourself that you would like to swap with someone else? Or maybe not. How does one manage a bad hair day. Can all of the tying, frying and dying, caps, hats, wigs and scarves help a bad hair day? How long can one hide under rocks until the bad hair day situation is remedied, if ever. Do bad hair days really exist at all? What's the answer to this question, if any.

Plastic
Today is July 4th. The fourth of July. It's a day when there will be lots of events, celebrations, parties, barbeque's and outdoor activities going on. Have you ever thought about the amount of plastic that will be disposed of today in all of this activity? Have you taken time to think of where that plastic cup or bag goes when you throw it in the garbage. As most of the parties today will most likely not be contributing to the recycling program. There are countries in Europe that impose a plastic bag tax, PlasTax of .5 cents for every plastic bag you receive to discourage the frivolous use of plastic. Ireland has reduced their consumption of plastic bags by 90 percent as a result. As New York City is contemplating a plastic ban, the plastic pimper corporations are not. America is drowning in plastic. As I have mentioned before, the evils of plastic are many. It is a non biodegradable object fueling the petroleum oil industry. The health hazards of plastic are many. Greenhouse gas emissions have run amok. Drains are being clogged and drain flooding is increasing. The birds of the earth are dying and choking from it and people are suffocating from it. For what reason is not a more natural material and product being created to replace plastic? If you are at a party today, consider the environment. Consider reusing your cup or your bag today. Go Green. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Happy July 4th.

TV and the Radio
I have been internet addicted lately and could still use that anti internet get sleep soon routine. So much that I do not watch much television or listen to much radio. And my eyes are bleary in the process. And for recreation I have wondered about the times that I do find myself watching television or listening to the radio. Is TV and radio full of crap and garbage these days? I no longer need a gym membership to workout for I find myself flipping and turning the dial on these appliances non stop looking for decent, fluent, non commercial radio or decent non commercial television, or even decent television. It's as if the song "57 channels and nothing on" is playing all the time. There seems to be more commercials on these devices than content itself. Sometimes I find public television or listener sponsored radio bearable. Does decent programming and entertainment exist anymore? Whatever decent could mean. I would think it does, somewhere. Maybe I am just getting older... Have a great day.
The Police
It's the Police! No, not the State Police. It's the Police! No, not the No Police State Girl. It's the Police, the band. That really cool rock band that has been around for ages as I can remember. I think of Sting when I think of the Police, as if he could be the leader of that really cool group with really cool songs. The Police have released their latest Police CD that has been in stores since June 5. It is a double disc compilation CD that also includes a vintage The Police poster. The compilation CD must be really cool if it has all of those awesome songs that are on their latest television spot that is included in this post. That television spot is awesome when I looked at it. I can look at it over and over again just to hear the songs and sing to them over and over. There are songs that I recognize in that video from years past like Roxanne! You don't have to put on the red light.., Don't Stand So Close To Me, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, and of course Every Breath You Take, that song rocks. It has been remade and remixed a thousand times by various other artists. It seems to be a classic. The CD contains the songs De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, Spirits In The Material World, So Lonely, and more. Their compilation CD contains 28 classic tracks. It is their special 30th anniversary release and is in stores now. This is a sponsored post.

July 4th
It's July 4th again. Another one of those national American patriotic holidays that is celebrated and observed only in America and nowhere else in the world. And what does the word "Patriotic" mean? That could be a whole another post. It's that time of year again when the image of the American flag is worshiped and honored for whatever the reason may be and more patriotic songs are sung and more pledging of allegiance to the flags are pledged. Didn't the flag waving just end last month with memorial day, the other ultimate patriotic American holiday? And what is being celebrated this time? I can't remember the meaning of July fourth. Doesn't it have something to do with freedom or the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia? I am not sure if anyone is free when others are oppressed and civil liberties are disappearing at the speed of light in the name of "Security and terrorism" and now, the latest trend "Plots". Although the fireworks for this day can be really cool to look at and the rooftop parties can be fun. Again, I should consult Wikipedia, the ultimate internet bible to understand the meaning of this holiday. Happy July 4th, great travels, fireworks, barbecues, beachgoing and picnics.
