And in the midst of battling big tech social media censorship somewhere in between Facebook and Instagram limiting the amount of political posts that can be seen and tik tok censoring posts that do not follow their narrative, I somehow still find myself being able to blagh on this google blogger somehow after all these years.
And so this post happens to be about a BlacknBlue Productions Tompkins Square Park concert that didn't happen in that alphabet city of New York, a benefit concert for Jesse Malin at Tompkins Square Park, April 27th with Gogol Bordello, Madball, Murphy's Law, The Capturers and more that was cancelled for some reason having to do with the Parks Department and moved to Irving Plaza April 26th with Facebook posts and flyers that read something like as follows:
With a Facebook post by Jesse Malin that says "I’ve been forever grateful for the New York hardcore community that me and many of my friends grew up in. It’s a scene that is always looked out for each other in hard times but this goes above and beyond. I am so touched by this, it means so much. THANK YOU BlacknBlue Productions Gogol Bordello Murphy's Law James Drescher The Capturers War Orphan and Tompkins Square Park Sweet Relief Musicians Fund".
And so what am I supposed to do with all those Tompkins Square Park t shirts that I was planning to vend at this event that got cancelled? Well I found myself on the southwest corner of that Tompkins Square Park park on Avenue A and East 7th street attempting to vend those t shirts on the day of the concert that didn't happen as in those photos and videos that find themselves posted above.
And in case you may have missed this concert that didn't happen at Tompkins Square Park, there are others shows coming up in Tompkins Square Park that I have come across on Facebook that hopefully will not get cancelled such as:

The Jesse Malin benefit show that was put together by Black N Blue Prods had the most amazing line-up, but Parks was afraid that one band on the bill, Gogol Bordello, was going to bring "thousands" of people to the park, so they "denied" the permit based on over-attendance though the show had not yet taken place!
Failing that, they then tried to restrict us to allowing only 200 people to attend, as if anyone putting on an event in a PUBLIC PARK has the authority or ability to restrict or control any number of people in a public park.
The item in the terms and conditions for applying for permits that pertains to attendance, which can only be a GUESS, is a SET UP for violations and denials of permits by the Parks Dept, which also LIES about available dates!
As many persons had taken flights from other cities, states and from overseas to NYC in order to be part of this LOVE FEST and fundraiser for Jesse, smelling that Parks was going to sabotage the April 27 event in the park, show organizers wisely and fortunately got Irving Plaza to host the show there a day earlier, on April 26.
The word from our connections within the Parks Dept and Mayor's office is that we are considered "troublemakers" [THEIR WORDS FOR US!] and that they intend to sabotage or at least put as many blockades in front of EVERY show we want to do from here on.
That is the stuff that lawsuits are made of.
Though they seem to feel that they are "allowing" us to use THEIR parks, these transient bureaucrats forget that, in their current positions, they are merely "custodians" of OUR FUCKING PARK.
LONG after they have moved on to their new jobs, whatever those may be, we will STILL be here....
