A May Day Rain Show

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And so this post happens to be about vending a DecorForU rain sale of ‪#‎blacklivesmatter‬, ‪#‎occupywallstreet‬, ‪#‎berniesanders‬ ‪#‎nopolicestate‬ and ‪#‎theshadow‬ necklaces, magnets and key chains @ Mayday Space @ MAY DAY CELEBRATION: block party, classes, film & community dinner for when singing that no police state song @ May Day PUNK Show at Tompkins Square gets rained out, cancelled or postponed. And as I had blaghed in that previous blog post about a May Day PUNK Show at Tompkins Square, there was supposed to be a May Day show at Tompkins Square Park in that city of New York yesterday. Well it got rained out and rescheduled for next weekend and I found myself vending those all things Bernie Sanders and more necklaces at May Day Space MAY DAY CELEBRATION: block party, classes, film & community dinner instead, as in those photos that find themselves posted above. And if I must blagher say, Mayday Space is this really cool space in Bushwick Brooklyn that has all things save the world events and more. And how those other May Day outdoor events in the New York City area faired in this May Day rain weather I am not sure, but in case you happen to be interested, this MAY DAY NYC 2016 WEEKEND ROUND-UP list may tell you below:

A May Day At Union Square Park

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And so I happened to find myself at another May Day event yesterday in New York City as I went to go vend those DecorForU #blacklivesmatter, #notmypresident, #occupywallstreet, #berniesanders, #noplicestate, #yoga, #brooklyn & #unionsquarepark necklaces, magnets, key chains & pins for $2 each at Union Square Park.  And this event happened to be a Fight Together! Strike to Win! May Day NYC 2018 May Day event held by Peoples Power Assemblies and Workers World Party on this day.  And there was also a May Day Bike Bloc Anticapitalist Ride at Union Square Park on this day as well who I think were also giving away free dumpster dived food.  And if it's free then it's for me. And then there was also a host of other street performers and vendors in this historic revolutionary gathering of a park as well. And that Fight Together! Strike to Win! May Day NYC 2018 facebook event invite read something like:

We will be marching alongside Immigrant Worker Justice at 5pm, who will be ending their NYC Freedom Cities May Day + IWJ Tour 2018 ! at Union Square! Support their tour which starts at 2pm! 

Over the past year, we have seen the Trump administration consistently deceive the American people as attacks against migrants and workers only worsen. We have seen rapidly growing numbers of ICE raids, thousands of deaths due to military air strikes throughout the Middle East, and the approval of a $700 billion dollar defense budget. At the same time, we have seen an intensification of resistance—from migrants putting their bodies on the line to stop deportations to huge strikes of teachers demanding better working conditions across the country. We must unite to demand an end to the growing imperialist crisis that burdens the working class, migrants, and people of color—as well as celebrate the growing resistance of our communities!

The organizations that are putting together May Day @ Union Square 2018 are not only resisting Trump but holding the whole corrupt system accountable. We are groups coming together representing Black, Brown, People of Color, Trans, LGBTQGNC, Migrant, Muslim, People with Criminal Convictions, Indigenous communities, and Workers who are uniting to defend our people!

May Day NYC

And so according to that Gregorian calendar on the wall, or table, yesterday was that International Workers Day of May Day in that city of New York and around the world I assume.  And those global revolutions of May Day, Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter are still moving fast, I think.
And according to that Mayday Glitter Graphics website, May Day - Beltane The first of May has long been celebrated with the traditional rite of spring. Dancing around the May pole is a tradition in many different cultures that dates back for centuries. While May Day has its roots in the pagan festival of Beltane, it is still celebrated throughout England and Europe as a celebration of fertility and the coming of the new spring.
And so I found myself passing by the peripheral and outer edges of one of those May Day events at Union Square Park in New York City yesterday, enough to take a few photos with that social media cell phone camera as in those photos that find themselves posted above of that Peoples Power Assemblies, NYC Shut It Down: The Grand Central Crew #blacklivesmatte, International League of Peoples' Struggle - ILPS US, Cosecha NYC and Workers World Party May Day Strike to Defend Migrants, Refugees & All Workers! May Day event. And according to that Facebook event calendar, some of those other May Day events in that city of New York area on this day were #MAYDAY: WE SHUT IT DOWN #maydaynyc, Mayday Anti-Speciesist + Anti-Decolonial Nonhuman Rights Bloc and May 1st NYC: Basta Ya! Stop The Attacks on Immigrants. And what does this have to do with a No Police State. Have a great day after May Day and more.

Tompkins Square MAY DAY!

It was cold and rainy on that next to the last day of April, a few days before MAY DAY 2019. that I found myself attempting to vend those #blacklivesmatter, #notmypresident, #occupywallstreet, #nopolicestate, #berniesanders, #yoga, #squat, #morus, #theshadow, #brooklyn #tompkinssquarepark, #eastvillage #lowereastaide, #manhattan and #iloveny necklaces, magnets, key chains and pins for $1 each on a drum set kit, makeshift vendor table next to Kelley and her really cool Police State cassette tapes she was selling, at another one of The Shadow"s Tompkins Square MAY DAY! concerts at Tompkins Square Park, before Chris came with the merchandise tables for The Shadow and all of the other bands merchandise.  And I have blaghed about May Day before on this blagh many times in times past and could almost just recycle the same post over and over as each holiday year rolls around.  And the rain held off for most of the concert. And Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council  held a May Day in the Park 2019 on this day as well with lots of good food and their Facebook event invite read something like

"Guess who's back! Join radicals and anti-fascists from across the city for a fun, sunny day of free food, talks, games, crafts, sunbathing, zine-reading, face-painting, daydreaming, hand-holding and more as we celebrate May Day, community, radical life and the dream of a world where we can one day enjoy the commons every day! This year we will have childcare accommodations. "

And then there was Food Not Bombs sharing good vegetarian food as well during  the concert hours. And so the bands played music, music and more music, and everyone danced, danced and damced some more until  the concert hours ended and another MayDay concert in the park has come to pass.  And there is to be more Shows in Tompkins Square Park this coming season.  And a host of other May Day events in the New York City area as well.
