The World Is On Fire

The world is on fire. Climate change is here. It is real and it is catastrophic. And I have blaghed about climate change on this blagh before, though after reading all of these global heatwave articles that have been in the headline news the past few months, those global heat wave, fire, flooding, red tide and blue green algae bloom photos that find themselves posted above, all appeared recently and all of these articles are saying something about all time heat records are being set worldwide across the majority of the northern hemisphere, from Japan, to Africa, to Greece, to Europe, to London, to Britain, to California, to Spain, to India, to the Arctic Circle, to Canada, to Sweden and a host of other places that are passing me by.  And even though the immediate world around me in the New York City area has had a couple of heatwaves the past couple of months, there are images of people losing their homes to fires and flooding elsewhere around the world and places are becoming uninhabitable due to climate change.  Marine life and sea creatures are washing up to shore along the coastline of Florida and Caribbean beaches and it seems as if extreme weather has become the norm. And scientists have warned that the earth is at risk of becoming a hothouse if a tipping point is reached. Globally, this is shaping up to be the fourth-hottest year on record. The only years hotter were the three previous ones. From what I read the the earth is 4.5 billion years old. Is this climate change and global warming natural or is it man made?  Is everything fine and just ignore the scientists?  Is another world possible?

Day of the Earth Again

Some stories do not end as you expect and the only thing constant is change. And so I find myself posting this earth day post again that was posted on this blog some time a while ago. Happy day of the earth.

And on this day finds itself to be Sunday, that day of the sun that has rolled around again in the week of seven days here on planet earth. Sunday, that day of rest, that day of god. Or is that Saturday, the sabbath. And yet I find myself blah blogging again on this blog again for some reason. And so the following is one of those posts that was written on this blog some time a while ago and posted on my other blog last week or that finds itself on this blog again form some reason. As my attempt to maintain more than one blog wants to confuse me sometimes:

And so it must be earth day again this year, I know because all of those headlines on this day says so. And how long has this day been around on the calendar anyway I am wondering, as is this some new invention go to along with the go green it's the new thing global warming climate change concept. And so what can I blah blog about this day that has not already been said. And so I thought to post something that I already could have posted about this day on my other blog, or at least about global warming because hey, it's less writing sometimes when those holidays roll around each year as scheduled:

And it seems as if the world is spinning out of control these days and times when I look around me and turn on the news of the day. So much that I start to wonder about those top ten prophetic signs of the end of the world that I blah blogged about some time ago. And the world is ever changing, and the only thing constant is change. And then there is the mortgage meltdown crisis where half of America seems to be becoming homeless at the moment and homeless shelters, tents, shantytowns and soup kitchens are becoming overcrowded with working class people, and maybe squatting and squats may rise and come to life and everyone can be free and live off the land for free, and then there is the oil crisis, created by some creator and plundering the earth for more oil, and the impending doom of the stock market down jones bear market economy collapse crisis, and the depression recession era, and the United States dollar and Uncle Scam going broke with the European Union, and the ecosystem collapse crisis, and the bees that are dying, the bats that are dying, the fish that are disappearing and whole species of animals dying off crisis, and then the corn is disappearing, the rice is disappearing, and food prices are increasing, and food is disappearing and the weather is extreme, floods are flooding, wildfires are firing and earthquakes are quaking. And then there is global warming, the go green it's the new thing thing and climate change. And there are famines, and wars, and nations against nations, and kings against kings, and guns are the worst invention of an industry ever, and there could be way too many people on planet earth, and the population is projected to double and go straight up in twenty years or something with that j bell curve thing. Is the earth running out of space for humanity yet? And who are those survival plan survivalist people. And technology is ever advancing. And who or what is Sodom and Gomorrah. And could this be the story of the rise and fall of a nation or the world or something, or anything. And is this just the beginning of birth pains? Is the end yet to come, if ever? What days and times are we on planet mother earth living in. What does the future hold, is there hope for the world. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

An Auto Bailout

So what's that thing that has been in the news a lot lately that along with the economy and the Wall Street stock market exchange seemingly going out of business and having one of those everything must go sales, the three big automakers of Ford, general Motors and I forget the other one, is it Chrysler, are asking for bailout of their debt in I guess the latest of companies to succumb to the domino effect of businesses that seem as if they want to go out of business. And I guess they are asking for a bailout to basically make more cars. And isn't the world already chocked on enough cars already. Shouldn't those automakers see this as a sign to stop making cars that seem to be speeding up global warming, climate change and 2012 on track with their carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions. And those auto maker employers who are having sit ins from being layed off as a result of this going out of business sale, can't they just be given severance pay and the automobile industry close down altogether or switch to environmentally clean fuel such as electric, solar or other alternatives fuels sources that are not contributing to the war for oil, oil and more oil. Isn't it possible to just recycle cars and automobiles, as it may look cool to have a bunch of retro looking cars on the road these days from eras of days past ago. Wouldn't it be safer for the environment for those oil guzzling automobiles to just disappear. And those presidential policies in that country of America seem all the same as if the demoncratics seem to be speaking the language of the republicans who seem to speak the language of the state, and the state of what I am not exactly sure. Isn't it possible to help save planet mother earth instead of asking for more money to harm it and the environment. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Plastic Nation

And I was watching this program called "Strange Days On Planet Earth" the other day, well actually the other month ago on Channel 13 and it was very interesting as their programs usually are. And I tried to take notes for this program to post on my blog in my blogaholicness and those notes became something of a garbled gibberish without complete sentences like this: human contaminants along the coast, coral reefs disappearing, the Sonate underground rivers from the Mayas are disappearing. From the human population trash is getting dumped and releasing pollution from a world of concrete and steel. Protect the rivers, save planet mother earth. The stripped bass are sick with lesions, humans are trashing the planet, the coral reefs are turning pale, fish are being found with bacteria, the sea gulls are starving to death. From overpopulation, action creates reaction. Protect the coral reefs, developers are draining mangroves, the ocean is being over fished and the fish are disappearing. Save the fish, save the sea, save the water, save the planet. The ecosystem is all connected with global change. The restaurant industry and cater waiter dispose of tons of fish going down the drain and into the trash on a daily basis. The fish industry is over farming and depleting life in the ocean. There is global warming, the food chain and the ecosystem is out of balance, there is an ecoapocalypse of the bees, frogs, bats, rice and wheat dying. Maybe we should all stop eating fish to save the oceans and environment. And those stripped bass lesions could be the canary in the coal mine as stripped bass do not like warm waters where there is no oxygen creating stress on the body from chemical fertilizers washed into rivers. No oxygen waters become dead zones. Humanity becomes the enemy of the earth from chemical run off in streams from urban areas, water contamination, car auto oil, the Valdez Exxon oil spill from cars. Pollution is plaguing the seas with trash. Sea birds are dying from chemicals, albatross birds are dying from plastic trash and there is a plastic continent twice the size of Texas with a toilet bowl vortex effect somewhere out there in the middle of the ocean,a plastic soup that does not biodegrade or go away. The Albatross bird species are dying and disappearing from the plastic ocean and from plastic pellet food. One person produces 1500 pounds of plastic per year that finds its ways to the rivers, seas and oceans as the tide of the ocean reverses. And then there was that scary topic of plastics ill effects on human beings. Plastic actually leaches into the water and mimics estrogen in animals producing gender benders, reproduction and health problems amongst humanity. There is some poly carbon resin plastic hormone called phthalates, bisphenol A and BPA's that are FDA approved and leach into the water pipes, containers that hold food, baby bottles and the like. And those chemicals get absorbed into our bodies. Now that is enough to make me not want to buy that plastic bottle of mile, water, juice and soda anymore. And what other container is there left then? It is a plastic poly carbon, hormone, time bomb in the genes of humanity and the Japanese do not use this phenol product. And then there is the ocean again,the heat and light causing coral reefs to bleach. lose their pigmentation and turn pale like the skeletons of the rainforest, trapping carbon dioxide gases in the atmosphere,changing the chemistry of the sea water making it acidic to where nothing can live in it, which mimics and imitates the sea water of the blood of humanity as nothing can live in an acidic environment. And then there is that go green its the newest thing slogan of these days that asks one to make smart choices to protect planet mother earth. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Occupy Sandy

And on this day finds itself another one of those Sundays that has rolled around, the day of rest, the day of the sun. The Sabbath, or is that Saturday. And on this day also finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 415. And those global revolutions of a movement Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still moving fast. And so here on the east coast in that country of North America, there is Occupy Sandy Relief to be found as a result of the aftermath that Hurricane Sandy also known as Frankenstorm left behind in New York City. And Occupy Sandy Relief NYC and its volunteers are in need of supplies and donations to help their Sandy Aid Efforts for those who have been affected by this storm. And New York Magazine has published a photo of  Lower Manhattan without power in the wake of Hurricane Sandy for its cover story that also finds itself posted above.  And some information from Occupy Wall Streets website reads as follows:

In the aftermath of the worst climate change disaster in New York City history, organizers from Occupy Wall Street and 350.org have teamed up with to coordinate a people-powered relief effort for New York’s hardest hit neighborhoods. Beginning with the Lower East Side, Red Hook, Astoria and Staten Island, volunteer organizers are using the new site Recovers.org to connect offers of help with places of need.
The group has already launched a relief hub in Red Hook, in partnership with the Red Hook Initiative, to help coordinate donations of food and supplies and to cook meals for the over 5,000 residents of the Red Hook Houses housing project that are without electricity in the flooded neighborhood. An afternoon relief caravan will head out to the Rockaways, one of the hardest-hit areas of the city. This evening, members of the OWS Puppet Guild will be putting on free puppet shows for children in the Sunset Park and Red Hook neighborhoods.

“There is only one force more powerful than a storm like this, and that’s the power of people coming together to help their communities. We’ve been able to put together an amazing network of people in a short time who are providing the help our neighbors need, and building stronger, more resilient communities in the process through mutual aid. Thanks to climate change, this storm is unfortunately only the beginning of an increasing trend of natural disasters hitting large urban areas. We hope that we can provide a blueprint for how to generate a rapid response in the face of such emergencies. All power to the people,"

Climate Change Is Real

And if must blogger say, I have written, or typed about the topic of the weather and climate change on this blog before. And in the midst of reading about gun violence, those St. Louis protests over police violence and other headline news of the day, I have also found myself reading about the weather gone wacky again with extreme weather and unprecedented record breaking weather events seemingly becoming the norm starting with that massive ice shelf that broke off of Antarctica a while ago like a scene from straight out of the movie The Day After Tomorrow, and all of these earthquakes, wildfires and hurricanes in that country of North America and planet earth this past month, between Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, Mexico, California, .Oregon, Montana, Idaho and the Caribbean Islands all being affected by natural disasters of earthquakes and wildfires or from being underwater from hurricanes and tropical storms with names like Harvey, Irma, Jose, Maria and beyond this past month, and it all has me wondering all of these theories of if Jesus Christ wants to return again or if Revelations XII  is here or about to be here or something, or if the earths magnetic poles have shifted or if that planet Nibiru is headed towards or passing by planet earth, or if it is the beginning of armageddon and the apocalypse and the first five minutes of that movie The Day After Tomorrow, with I think all of these weather disasters seemingly having started after that great American solar eclipse, the first solar eclipse in 99 years, and every eye shall see him... and not to mention those 7 Theories About The World Ending On September 23, 2017 According To Astrology, Planet X Predictions, And The Bible or simply is the world ending or about to end or if the end is near as it always has been since the beginning of time I think. There are no words I can blogger think of to describe this all except to say Mother Earth is upset and climate change is real.

A Climate Change Hurricane

And in case you have been stuck in the stone age or hiding out beneath one of those rocks and haven't heard, a hurricane named Sandy also known as Frankenstorm had made its way from Cuba and Bahamas to New York and other states on the east coast seaboard leaving damage and devastation behind. New York City has grinded to a halt and is underwater, or partially underwater at the moment from the ocean rushing in and submerging it with flooding. Sandy has turned the New York City area into a surreal cataclysmic apocalyptic scene that reads like something from one of those disaster flick movies The Day After Tomorrow , 2012 or The Perfect Storm to where it has been declared a major disaster area from fires, flooding, transit shutdowns and darkness from power blackouts, cancelling this years NYC Village Halloween Parade, closing the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street, interrupting the elections and all events in between. And this has me to wondering about that Mayan calender ending, climate change and December 21.2012, a time for change thing again. And those postcards from an underwater New York City fake photos of Frankenstorm also known as hurricane Sandy that find themselves posted above makes me wonder if Babylon is fallen, has fallen or neither. The climate has changed. And it is the age of Aquarius, I think..., the milky way, the planetary alignment, the end of the world as we know it, or maybe even HAARP, who knows. And those surreal photos that arise write a story for themselves.

Green Energy

Yes I am all about green energy these days. Because of global warming and climate change, green is the thing. And I am not exactly sure what the following press release is about and how gasoline can be green because when I think of gasoline I see red. Maybe it's a bio diesel fuel or something. I hope this is helping to save planet Mother Earth and is not a profit before people, petroleum related, take all of the oil you can find out of the earth at whatever cost company, and if it says Green, then I guess its the thing.

BRITISH GAS LAUNCHES GREENEST ENERGY TARIFF

9 August 2007: British Gas has announced it is launching two new green energy tariffs, Zero Carbon, which will be the greenest tariff available on the domestic market and Future Energy. British Gas has launched the tariffs, in response to the increasing demand for green energy products.

Householders signing up to the Zero Carbon tariff will:
• reduce their household energy carbon emissions to zero through Kyoto compliant offset schemes which will meet the new Defra requirements
• help fund a direct increase in investment in renewable energy generated in the UK
• contribute to the new British Gas green fund which will:
o invest in developing new renewable technologies such as wave power
o oversee a programme to help schools in the UK reduce their CO2 emissions

Gearóid Lane, Managing Director British Gas New Energy said,”Our new tariff responds to consumer demand for truly green energy solutions. It is essential that customers have confidence in green energy tariffs and that their credibility is not damaged by tariffs that claim to be green but in reality do not deliver any incremental environmental benefits. Green tariffs are moving from niche to mainstream products and we’re leading the industry by offering a tariff that will do more for the environment than any other product currently available.”

Under the government’s Renewables Obligation (RO), electricity suppliers in the UK are already required to produce an increasing percentage of their electricity through methods such as wind farms which, unlike traditional power plants, produce zero carbon emissions. For 2007/2008 this figure is set at 7.9%.

In a recent report, the National Consumer Council (NCC) raised concerns that some energy suppliers are packaging electricity which is produced under the RO scheme as “green”, yet it delivers no additional environmental benefits. The NCC called on energy suppliers to take steps beyond their legal requirements and offer green energy tariffs that provide genuine additional environmental benefits, in particular CO2 emissions reduction.

British Gas worked with Global Action Plan and The Climate Group’s “We’re in this Together” campaign to develop Zero Carbon which goes further than any other green tariff in meeting these requirements offering consumers the only zero carbon option on the market.

The tariff carries a premium of £84 per year, reflecting the higher cost of producing energy through lower carbon emission schemes.

Virginia Graham, Chair of Global Action Plan, said, “The British Gas Zero Carbon tariff delivers on all three of the essential requirements of a green tariff which are: additionality, transparency and verifiability. As such it is a very welcome new offering in the market. Consumers signing up to the tariff can be confident that they are getting 12 per cent more renewable energy than they would otherwise have got. The carbon emissions from their electricity and gas will also be offset with emissions reductions from projects accredited by the United Nations.”

Zero Carbon is one of the first initiatives launched through the ‘We’re in this Together’ campaign, which was launched in April 07 as an alliance of some of the UK’s biggest brands who are all working to help their customers reduce their impact on the climate.

Dr Steve Howard, CEO of The Climate Group and founder of ‘We’re in this Together’ said, “We’re committed to offering people ways to make a real impact on climate change through Together.com. We’ve worked with British Gas to ensure that Zero Carbon is a genuine step forward in delivering more environmental benefits than any other tariff currently available.”

British Gas’s second green energy tariff, Future Energy, offers an alternative green electricity tariff at a premium of just £20 per year. Customers signing up to this tariff will contribute to a green fund which will provide solar panels and other renewable energy technologies to UK schools. Money from the fund will also be invested in development of future renewable technologies and sources.

Those are part of the words on a SEPTEMBER 9/7 REBELLION flyer that I received this past weekend, when I attempted to vend those DecorForU Black Lives Matter, S#!t Just Got Real, Not My President, Occupy Wall Street, Yoga, No Police State, Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, Washington Square Park, Brooklyn and I Love New York necklaces, magnets, key chains and pins for $2 each next to extinction rebellion's extinction rebellion NYC Rebel Fest Gathering event at Washington Square Park this past weekend.  And the description of their event invite reads like as follows:

And extinction rebellion NYC seems to have extinction rebellion NYC events on what seems like a daily basis in the New York City area to save the environment and save the world.

You can also join their XR community for weekly virtual, playful, regenerative dance parties as well. Everyone’s welcome!

And I am not exactly sure what extinction rebellion is, though I have seen those extinction rebellion flyers around on light poles in the streets of New York City the past year or so, and I could only figure out that the extinction rebellion symbol had something to do with climate change and saving humanity from extinction, from disappearing off the face of the planet, though I think it is Albert Einstein who once said that if the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would have only four years left to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.

And there is also a How Green Is My City Exhibition Tour at Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space - MORUS, that radical history museum in New York City's Lower East Side, September 25th 6pm.
This exhibition is led by the director of Green Maps. The exhibition is brought to you through a special partnership between the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS) and the Green Map System, and also an Opening with Live Virtual Tour: How Green Is My City? September 6th. In the basement level of MoRUS, explore a special temporary exhibit featuring photos, art, and barricades from the recent Black Lives Matter demonstrations. "Plywood Windows of SoHo: Black Lives Matter" is curated by James Hong with photographs by Hong and George Hirose. The partial Marsha P. Johnson mural is done by street artist Captain Eyeliner (instagram: @captain_eyeliner).
