A Climate Change Hurricane

And in case you have been stuck in the stone age or hiding out beneath one of those rocks and haven't heard, a hurricane named Sandy also known as Frankenstorm had made its way from Cuba and Bahamas to New York and other states on the east coast seaboard leaving damage and devastation behind. New York City has grinded to a halt and is underwater, or partially underwater at the moment from the ocean rushing in and submerging it with flooding. Sandy has turned the New York City area into a surreal cataclysmic apocalyptic scene that reads like something from one of those disaster flick movies The Day After Tomorrow , 2012 or The Perfect Storm to where it has been declared a major disaster area from fires, flooding, transit shutdowns and darkness from power blackouts, cancelling this years NYC Village Halloween Parade, closing the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street, interrupting the elections and all events in between. And this has me to wondering about that Mayan calender ending, climate change and December 21.2012, a time for change thing again. And those postcards from an underwater New York City fake photos of Frankenstorm also known as hurricane Sandy that find themselves posted above makes me wonder if Babylon is fallen, has fallen or neither. The climate has changed. And it is the age of Aquarius, I think..., the milky way, the planetary alignment, the end of the world as we know it, or maybe even HAARP, who knows. And those surreal photos that arise write a story for themselves.

The Parka

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And if you happen to be living or passing through that city of New York, you may have noticed that the weather has gotten cooler with the arrival of fall and that people are starting to wear those jackets to keep warm on subways, trains, buses and beyond ad part of that fall and winter fashion. And so if you happen to be looking for a Canada Goose Solaris Parka, those jackets that can keep you warm even in artic weather, you can find them at Dave's New York which happens to be located in that seemingly fashion capital of the world in that city of New York. And that winter outdoor parka comes in different sizes with a fur hood for when it comes to all things fall and fashion. And what better way to get one of those parkas than with a website visit or subway train ride away.

A Stone Big Band Show

Hey again Bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 395. And Occupy Wall Street, that NYC Protest for World Revolution is still moving fast. And even in the midst of Occupy Wall street and Occupy Together, I still find myself blogging about music, music and music and music, music, and more music events to be found in that city of New York. And so another music event is happening at The Stone, that nightclub to be found in the Lower East side or the East Village for real estate marketing purposes in New York City. And those events to be found on Facebook and beyond read something like as follows:

Welf Dorr Unit at The Stone
October 30th, 8pm, tickets $10

Welf Dorr Unit is a new project that saw the light earlier this year with a well-received performance at Arts for Arts/Evolving Music Series. Welf Dorr on alto sax joins forces with Dave Ross on guitar, Dmitry Ishenko on bass and Joe Hertenstein on drums for a free jazz ride with structure and tinges of funk and rock.

Welf, originally from Munich (Germany), lives in New York since 1995 where he played and recorded with Sonny Simmons, Sabir Mateen and Juini Booth. He is a member of Karl Berger’s Improvisers Orchestra, Kenny Wollesen’s Himalayas and the Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris and works currently mostly with his brass band Underground Horns.

Dave Ross has played with nearly everybody of the downtown music scene and is mostly known for his work with William Hooker.

Bassist Dmitry Ishenko, originally from Russia, played on the very last concerts with Steve Lacy and is a member of the late John Tchicai's "Ascension Unending”.

Fellow German Joe Hertenstein is making a splash on the NY scene since 2007. He leads his trio HNH and has recently released Polylemma and Future Drone featuring Jon Iragabon.

Winter Solstice Again

Okay so here's another one of those posts that found itself posted on this blog some time a while ago in an attempt to maintain content for this blog and my other blagh whenever bloggers block possible. And I know winter solstice is still a ways away, it's just that this blog seems to want something to blog about, I think. And this winter solstice post isn't even including that end of the world or change as we know it 12.21.2012 mayan calendar thing which could be a whole another blog post.

And Winter solstice is fast approaching on the morrow. I know because that Gregorian calendar and all of these winter solstice events that I am seeing advertised says so. And what does the solstice mean anyway as those sol letters seem as if they have something to do with the sun. And I heard someone say the other day that the days get one minute longer or shorter each day leading up to the winter or summer solstice or something. And I think December 21st could be the shortest day of the year I have heard. And it seems to be an astrological event also. And what does that internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this day, let's see... "A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is most inclined toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun's apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstices, the Sun stands still in declination; that is, the apparent movement of the Sun's path north or south comes to a stop before reversing direction. The term solstice can also be used in a broader sense, as the date (day) when this occurs. The solstices, together with the equinoxes, are connected with the seasons. In some cultures they are considered to start or separate the seasons while in others they fall in the middle."

And there will most likely be many of those balls, parties, ceremonies, parades, festivals, observations and other events to be found in that city of New York and beyond on that winter solstice day.  Have a great winter celebration day.

A 2012 Halloween

And even though on this day finds itself another one of those Sundays that has rolled around, that day of the sun, the day of rest, the Sabbath, or is that Saturday? I still find myself blogging away for some reason. And so that holiday of All Saints Day, the spooky witches holiday has rolled around again this year, so much that I find myself posting those Halloween photos above. And that NYC Village Halloween Parade 2012 must be on the way again, and houses are starting to be decked out in Halloween decorations as if to be haunted houses, and are the dead going to awake? And Halloween parties and events are starting to arise, those pop up Halloween stores selling those Halloween costumes are starting to arise, and are ghosts going to appear in the day of the dead, or the day of the devil or something like that. Maybe every day should be Halloween, as then we could be free to walk on earth as who we want to be without thinking of what others think of us, or something like that. Then again in that neighborhood of the East Village to be found in New York City, every day is Halloween, I think. Have a great impending Halloween day and more.

The Identity

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of LifeLock Twitter for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

AmeliaIZEA | skitch.com

I have heard that identity theft is the fastest growing crime on the internet.  Now, with so many things moving on the internet, identity theft, hackers, and phishing are common issues online.  And I am always reading those stories about people who get their email, bank or other accounts hacked on the internet and then have to regain their accounts and identity back somehow and sometimes costing themselves a lot of money in the process of doing so. And so How hack-friendly is your password?  Well if you happen to be looking for some hacker protection, LifeLock can help you.  They can help you avoid ID and credit card fraud with their different kinds of protection plans for credit monitoring, lost wallets and more.  And you can find LifeLock on Twitter also.  And according to those statistics, hackers seem to like households with $100,000 or more, smartphone users and social media users who click on those applications the most.   And from what I have read, those hackers use some pretty fancy methods to hack those passwords.  And so if you happen to be looking for some online banking, personal information and privacy protection, you can find it with just a website visit away.
