The Beast

Abracadabra! Open sesame! Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Metal, Wood. It is still Halloween today. And this day could be a blessing or a curse, as that is what the word abracadabra means according to that Internet dictionary Wikipedia. "Avracadabra" is derived from the Hebrew, ha-brachah, meaning "the blessing" and dabra, an Aramaic form of the Hebrew word dever, meaning "pestilence". And it is also the origin of the name of that fat bellied demon Abraxas, a Gnostic word for God which was thought to be a spell of great power. His name adds up to exactly 365, whatever that could mean. And it is magic and occult. And for what reason does that triangle photo placed in this blog entry look like half of a pentagram, I am not sure. And today is that scary, supernatural and mystical time of year when the devil, Satan, Christ and the spirits of the dead come to town. When Pan and the Grim Reaper awakes and witchcraft, witches, gargoyles and Gothics come out to play and when one gets to masquerade and play dress up for whoever they want to be. And in a change of topic that comes to mind, I am thinking of that great beast in Revelations, as those California wildfires are still burning and they are reminding me of Armageddon or the apocalypse or something enough to make me think it is the beginning of the end. Or maybe it is just global warming or mother nature. And I also seem to be running out of things to blah blog about these days again. And so those religious thoughts come to mind again as I ask myself, who or what is that beast that is to be found in the Book of Revelations. Who or what is this beast that seems to have its grip on mankind and the world and will not let go in the seemingly endless amount of atrocities that happen on a daily basis in the world these days that are too innumerable to mention with no end in sight. Who or what does the beast represent? Is it that beast that Babylon sits on that I posted about a few postings ago. And when I think of the beast, more thoughts come to mind; Babylon, confusion, the anti Christ, technology, the microprocessor, a cashless society, the Middle East, the European Union, globalism, security, terrorism, nuclear energy, national I.D's, the collapse of morality, trials and tribulations, wars and rumors of wars and Satan ruling the world etc;. Are these some of the top ten prophecy signs of the beginning of the end. And again when I think of the beast I think of gun violence and glory, the worst invention of an industry ever, and all of the things that kill man, man made or nature; wars, famine, disease, plagues, wild beasts, and save no man that he may buy or sell except that he has the mark of the beast upon his forehead, or is that his right hand, for it is the number of a man, 666. Whatever that means. And who are those beasts full of eyes, and those horses that are to be found in Revelations. That could be a whole another blog posting. And much like the verse of Babylon, there is a wealth of information to be interpreted. And so to make this blog posting an even longer posting to read and possibly the longest posting I have posted yet.., I am posting that all to familiar verse to be found in the book of Revelations. If you believe. Watch and be ready. Happy Halloween.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Uptown Saturday Nite

Abracadabra. Today is Halloween. All Saints Day, All Hallows Eve when parties are made and the dead come to life. And a lot of parties there will be today; uptown, downtown and all around town. And what is the difference between uptown and downtown? Is downtown more down and uptown more up? Well if you happen to be looking to paint the town red and are in the Uptown San Marco Shopping District, there will most likely be lots of parties and lots of St. Augustine shopping to be had on this day and throughout the year. St Augustine is an antique shopping district located in the Nation's Oldest City of St. Augustine, Florida along San Marco Avenue. There you can find history, attraction. culture, luxury and romance, beaches and nature, golf and more. Uptown Saturday Night in St. Augustine also has a great end of the month event October 27th and November 24th, in the Uptown San Marco shopping district. San Marco Avenue is a lively street and there you can find Spanish treasures, galleries, antique stores, rare books, Ripley's Museum, the Mission of Nobre de Dios and more. And you can also attend exhibit openings and meet the artists, attend book readings and signings, see live music, meet antique dealers and attend their workshops and a host of other creative events in this festive atmosphere. Aviles Street, the oldest street in America is nearby as well. This is a sponsored post.

Mitch's Picks

Hey Bloggers, and so in my attempt to follow the latest of the WBAI radio drama series, I came across this email from Mitchell Cohen on one of the many yahoo groups that I have subscribed to lately. Mitchell Cohen has this really cool radio program, Steal This Radio that rocks and is full of great listening. The following are some of Mitchell's most recent picks. You can listen live for his latest picks of music, poetry and everything else tonight at 6pm on Tribeca Radio. And Mitchell also has his picks for the WBAI 2007 LSB elections that can be found on Indymedia. WBAI elections are happening now and for once might change the direction of the station! Power to the people. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

STEAL THIS RADIO #23
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2007, 11 a.m., and
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 6 pm

on Tribeca Radio (Listen Live)
Archived/Podcast after Oct. 30.

Much music and poetry in this week's show!

Mitchel Cohen recites his poem, "To Comrades Fallen", for Brad Will and Susan Blake.

Mitchel also gives his picks for the WBAI radio (99.5 FM) listener-member elections to the Local Station Board, and discusses some of the troubles at that listener-sponsored commercial-free Pacifica station.

And, sandwiched by much great music by Manu Chao, Anne Feeney, Dave Rovics, and Phil Ochs, Mitchel reads Henry Miller's insights and reminiscences about the doctrine of cleanliness. Mitchel ends with another one of his poems "Be Sure to Wear A Condom when You're Shooting Up (Stay at Home)". Don't go outside, don't do ANYthing, stay home and watch TV ....

Music:
Manu Chao: "Clandestino, " "Desaparecido, " and Bongo Bong

Anne Feeney: "Let Their Heads Roll," and "Too Much Monkey Business"

Phil Ochs: "I Ain't a-Marchin' Anymore" , and "The War Is Over"

Dave Rovics: "Jenin"

and, opening every show, Mario Savio's impromptu 1964 speech "Unless You're Free the Machine will be Prevented from Working at All," which summed up and immortalized the Berkeley Free Speech Movement and -- along with the Civil Rights organizing in the South -- kicked off the student movements all across the United States.

Mercury In Retrograde

And so I heard someone say the other day, planet Mercury is in retrograde. And I think that means watch out for what you do and what you say as things can get wacky left and right and life can become like that karma thing of Murphy's Law, "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong". I don't know how long mercury has been in retrograde or if what that person said is even correct, as I have not seen any of its affects in the immediate world I have been inhabiting lately. Or maybe I have seen Mercury's effects lately, I am not sure. And what does Mercury being in retrograde mean anyway? Well from what I hear, Mercury is the God of communication and war I think. Doesn't those medical staffs that fly away on the wings of love have something to do with Mercury; those snakes and that all seeing eye that sees all thing. And doesn't Mercury being in retrograde have to do with communication being out of whack? Does everything technology just stop working or go backwards. Well this computer seems to be working great so far today. And what else does Mercury in retrograde have to do with? The planet goes backward or something so everything else in life goes backwards until it decides to go forward again. What ever this retrograde thing may mean, have a great Mercury in retrograding day.

In A Vanity World

Oh boy, it's my plastic self time again. This is a good one. What can I say about plastic surgery except that can I afford it even if I wanted it? Or maybe my insurance could cover it. It's a plastic world sometimes and the world can be vain, very vain. There can be certain features about oneself that one is not fully content with and would like to swap with another person maybe. Or maybe you are fortunately content with yourself. If you happen to feel you could use a different more marketable self just like in the movies, as Hollywood can be based solely on looks sometimes, or maybe for some other reasons, UK Plastic Surgery is there for you. MYA Cosmetic Surgery UK can make yourself amazing. They can help you feel confident about yourelf. They are all cosmetic surgery all the time. This is a sponsored post.

This Blog

And so in my attempt to market this blog and blah blog my way to riches in the pay you to post and blog and make millions and billions online in the bloggerland blogosphere, someone left a comment on my "Sell This Product" posting yesterday that went like, "yer blog sucks and you are an adwhore.". Now that leads me to wondering, what is an ad whore? Is that the same as a marketing whore. Does that Internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have a definition for that. Is that someone who is a whore for marketing, as the word sounds self explanatory. And I do seem to find myself lost in Bloggerland these days, as I am forever trying to figure out how to get rich Internet quick without ever having to leave home. And I do long for that Google page ranking of a thousand so much that I would like to repost this Ode To Blogging. And I am forever reading about that newly learned Internet marketing term "SEO", as in optimize this site for those search engines; so much that I find myself cramming this site with every noun, verb, and place I can think of. And I am still forever trying to figure out ways to market, promote and build links for that link popularity thing for this blog to reach a bazillion readers a day. And I don't think I will be getting rich Internet quick anytime soon with my one blog, as I still find myself blogging for pennies a day. And short of winning the lottery, I realize I cannot quit my day job anytime soon. And I have posted on every forum and quorum I can think of trying to advertise this blog. And short of walking around with a billboard attached too myself and a bullhorn in my hand yelling out my websites name, I am running out of ideas on how to market this blog. Maybe I should try skywriting in the sky with an airplane, or maybe I should read that 27 + 1 Tips for Building and Maintaining a Blog Audience again, or look for some more of those endless how to make millions online blogs, tutorials and manuals to read now. And what does the term "riches" mean anyway? Silver, gold and treasures, do you trust in them. And what if they perish. What profit do you have if you gain the whole world and lose your own soul. That could be a whole another blog posting. And what about that verse; "For the love of money is the root of all evil: while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows". And how do bloggers get thousands and millions and billions of page views a day? I still have yet to figure that one out. Is there a magic trick to all of this? This blogging in a web 2.0 world, user generated content thing has got me going. Have a great day

Ballad For A Radio Drama

And the ballots are in. Or at least arriving in the mail now. I have been following this Pacifica Foundation WBAI Local Station Board 2007 elections radio drama for a while now. WBAI 99.5 Pacifica Radio is a listener sponsored, community, non commercial radio station in the New York City area that supports free speech and gives an alternative voice to the people. And from hearing all of the drama rama stories, their administration seems to reflect and mirror a microcosm of a current administration as Pacifica network seems to have a history of turmoil and division amongst its members that goes way back in time with its listener sponsored board and its behind the scenes or not so behind the scenes stories on how its radio station functions. And it is seemingly a continuation of a story told many times, many ways, many years ago. And now the candidate election endorsements and recommendations are being posted on all of these yahoo groups and social web 2.0 software that I have subscribed to and have been reading and watching lately in an attempt to follow this radio drama online. And the discussions and emails are so many that ones inbox can fill up quickly so much that it sometimes becomes seemingly impossible to follow them all. So the following are some email excerpts that I received today from that New Pacifica Yahoo Group and some of the many tons of email groups that are to be found in the ongoing WBAI radio drama. If you happen to be interested in following this drama also, you can visit Pacifica Foundation to learn more. Is it possible to help save WBAI and the world? What would be left without the voice of WBAI. Power To The People. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Hello All,

If you haven't already received it, you soon will receive your ballot for the WBAI Local Station Board (LSB) 2007 election. Please don't lose your ballot -- vote!

I'm endorsing --

And...

All of the above-named candidates are sincerely committed to helping to right the station by hiring station management that will strengthen & revitalize programming, restore the listener-base and rebuild financial stability.

And...

This is a critical election for WBAI. I believe it is absolutely essential that "So and so" candidates take a majority of the seats on the Local Board if WBAI is to survive, and perhaps even Pacifica itself. As I wrote to you a few weeks ago, WBAI is bankrupt. It is paying its bills by borrowing money from the Pacifica National Office which is borrowing the money from other Pacifica stations. This whole house of cards could come down if the problems at WBAI are not solved quickly

And...

and that is one of the causes of the current bankruptcy. Other causes are overall mis-management, waste, poor staff morale, not enough good programming, and competition from other alternative media sources, both on the radio and on the internet

And...

Again, please vote -- Every vote matters. With "ranked choice" voting just one vote can determine who wins the last seat on the board.

Thanks, and best regards,

And...

Dear WBAI Listener-Member,

The ballots flutter in like moths to the flame of our electoral
candle .... They began arriving yesterday. If you'd paid $25 or more
to WBAI in the past year, you should receive your ballot any day now. If you don't receive it within a week, please call the Local Election Supervisor Dale Ratner.

This year, the elections are VERY important toward the future of
WBAI, and whether the station will continue to exist and be
strengthened, or whether it will be bankrupted by a bunch of "So and so" in the mis-named "So and so" faction who are doing the dirty work of the "So and so" in Washington, whether they are aware of it or not.

And...

I am recommending that we all vote for the following "So and so" candidates for the WBAI Local Station Board, and in the following order (the order is very important in this election):

And...

Hi all. I do a weekly show on WBAI, Thursday evenings... Aside from the fact that we need more programming that more people want to listen to,... and I've been doing my show since 1995 - and I barely know anything about the candidates who are running for LSB. How can we expect the listeners to know? How can we run a station well where it's so easy to game the voting system?

And...

Thanks for speaking this aloud. I agree with most of what you're saying though I am not completely in agreement with you on the topic of national programming..... But I agree with you all down the line in regard to "So and so". The way the LSB currently operates warrants its swift abolition. It seems to operate as the long arm of everything corrupt at WBAI and Pacifica.

And the list goes on and on.

Op Ed

I've been watching and reading about those California wildfires in the news this past week and it is enough to give me visions of Armageddon and make me think that it is the beginning of the end. And I came across this website OpEdNews with this interesting op ed news article written by Mary MacElveen yesterday. And I wanted to comment on it but it seems to be commentary itself. And it seems to be about compassion and humanity. This text stayed with me afterwards so much after reading it that I thought to repost it as follows.

It never surprises me when I see posters on AOL lash out at victims who have lost everything in the California wildfires as they did with Katrina victims. In reading some of these comments one ugly person has the gall to say, “Who friggin cares” and goes onto say, “Enough already!” I just don’t get this mindset. Doesn’t he realize that was someone’s home which included all of their worldly assets? Those assets included items such as family mementos’ which are now lost forever. Yes, I realize they are things, but often things tie us to one another. At family gatherings some will often use these mementos’ to reminisce of past events that were shared collectively. Lost in many of those homes are china sets passed down from generation to generation and as we come up on Thanksgiving, absent will be these sets of china. Native-Americans are known for their custom of oral histories in which family members would gather round to tell of one’s family history so that the next generation knows where they come from. Can using anyone of these items destroyed by fire take away from such a custom? One poster showed absolutely no compassion when he posted, “Katrina improved that trashy city. These people in southen cal are good upstanding hard working people. Its time to help them out America.” I will not even correct his spelling mistakes, but let them stand as is. Having written two columns called “The Voices of Katrina”, those affected by Katrina were also hard working citizens. New Orleans was never a “trashy city” but one that is filled with so much history and culture. This same poster shows his true ugly racist colors when he stated, “I feel bad for the white people that have lost their homes.” He is coming from the depths of hate. Then your typical Republican VS Democrat debate comes in as well as any comments that may come from Rev. Pat Robertson as people’s possessions go up in flames. Please get a grip since those affected by these fires are all of us. As you sit and try to divide, they are clinging together for comfort and giving each other aid when they may have lost everything. In reading all of these diatribes, one person who lives in California had this to add, "I can't believe ignorant people are posting and bashing Californians, don’t you fools know that wildfires do not discriminate? Rich neighborhoods, average neighborhoods, and poor neighbors from Santa Barbara to San Diego are being burned to the ground. I'll say it again, the fire does not discriminate. I'm a native Californian, born and raised in So Cal all my life. Wildfires are fairly common down here, but these ones are bad-- the worst I've ever seen. Everyone in So Cal is effected one way or another-- whether it be by the flames or smoke. I go to college in Orange County and our classes are cancelled because of it. This is bad...and the only thing that can help is a shift in the weather." I could identify with his frustration having read what the ugly people did write. So, below was my response back to him. I first want to say that ignorance seems to rule the day even in these horrific events. I would like to know where people's compassion is as they lose everything they have worked for. Wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes do not discriminate. They are a force of nature. Those who are bashing Californians are sitting safely in their own homes at their own computers and not realizing that can be taken away from them in an instant. I read similar rants directed at the people of New Orleans and the surrounding areas during Katrina. Many of these ugly people belong to a new generation of heartless people who only care to strike out in ignorance. Those of America's 'Greatest Generation' would have rolled up their sleeves seeing how they could help out. I long for the days when America can be restored to that mindset.
There is an age old saying, “Walk a mile in my shoe” and those who can sit and judge those affected by these fires and Katrina in a negative tone, one must ask this; have you walked a mile in their shoes? Do you know what it is like to lose everything in an instant only to have your misery bashed by others? I think that some Americans need to grow up and seek the advice of those who are still apart of America’s ‘Greatest Generation’. This group of people were the can do Americans and would not have reacted in such a juvenile and hateful manner. To the people of California, my prayers and sympathies go out to you all as they did with those who suffered through Katrina. Seek comfort in those that come to your aid and dismiss the rest who have no heart.

Till's Gig

I've been meaning to blah blog about Till's gig lately for quite some time now. He's been sending out those email invites for his latest gig for a while. And he's been calling those events "Eazy" or "Eazy does it". Till plays some good music, mostly jazz, as I have always known him as a sax man though now it seems as if he is playing, how does he describe it on his MySpace page; Psychedelic / Electronica / Trip Hop. And this time around he seems to be calling himself Senor Bonobo. I am not exactly sure what that name is all about, maybe it has something to do with me calling myself No Police State Girl sometimes, who knows. There seems to be photos of apes all over his page and I guess that's what a Bonobo is. And he describes Senor Bonobo as something like "Bonobos are supposed to live a more peaceful lifestyle in part because of their habitat, which has more nutritional vegetation, allowing less hunting, less competition, and a social outlet of eating. Bonobos, at least in captivity, are generally held to have superior intelligence to Common Chimpanzees and so on and so on and so on..." I made it to one of his parties and it was at this really cool loft in Queens with this view of Manhattan that was awesome. Till B's music rocks and his event for this week is as follows. Have a great rock n' roll day.

Babylon The Great

For some reason, Babylon the great whore came to my mind in that last posting I posted. And that leads me to thinking. Is Babylon the Great harlot and mother of all whores to be found in Revelations the Statue of Liberty? Does she represent the Statue of Liberty and the City of New York, the great Empire State, to be found in America. Sometimes I wonder. I sometimes wonder with the similarities that are to be found between the two. As the two are great cities that sit on top of many waters with seven heads and ten horns on their head sitting on top of a great beast on seven mountains over many waters, nations and tongues holding gold cups in their hands on top of a great beast that turns against itself and burns her with fire and the great merchants of the earth who had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness and who brought all of her great merchandise, the merchandise of gold and silver and fine linen etc stand a far off for the fear of her burning etc;. There's a whole lot of figurative speech and a wealth of meaning to be found in this passage and verse. What do these two great women represent? What doe this passage mean and what does it represent. Mystery, Babylon The Great to be found in prophecy if you believe. Babylon arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, Ancient Babylon, The Tower of Babel, Baal, Babylonia, the great empire, that great city in the Middle East or somewhere on planet earth. Who is that great city. Confusion, trials and tribulations. Is she falling. And who and what is God. Is there a God? And what is that Mene Mene Tekel code and the handwriting on the wall I just came across. Is that a whole another blog posting? I could blah blog about this all day long and so I guess to sum it up, I am reposting that all too familiar verse from the book of Revelations as follows:

The Judgment of the Great Harlot

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: and upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, Dan. which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

The Fall of Babylon

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, Ps. 137.8 · Jer. 50.29 and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, Is. 47.8, 9 death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: the merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; and the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Revelations 17-18.

Watch and be ready. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

This World

Sometimes I wonder if it is the beginning of the end when I read or listen to the news of these days and times. Planet mother earth is on fire. Wildfires are sweeping across California, this has been the driest summer on record, farmers are experiencing droughts in record numbers, the bees are dying, global warming, global distress and the list goes on and on. There are horrible atrocities that happen daily in this world that are too innumerable to mention in one blog posting. And there was another pedestrian and bicyclist who lost their life as a result of cars. And there was another person who lost their lives as a result of guns. And so I find myself blogging about gun violence, as it seems as if every other story in the headlines these days is related to gun violence with no end in sight. Another person loses their life to gun violence for no reason at all except for that fact that guns have been invented. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. It seems to be that cycle of crime that feeds the media that promotes more crime. And the whole world is paying. I could cut and paste this same blog entry over in over in my appeal to end gun violence, to end the war of man against man and nation against nation and king against king, to banish guns from every human being on the face of the planet earth. To banish the images of guns from every form of advertising on planet earth. Will the beast ever release its grip on mankind. And who is the beast. Where is the world headed. Is there hope. Who is that great harlot Babylon the great whore in Revelations? She comes to my mind right now for some reason. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Death and Life

And so I guess Billy Warhol answered that question I had yesterday about what is a dictatorship with the comment they left on the posting. Their comment was interesting and I thought to repost part of it. Their website is interesting and here is what they wrote: " I always thought a Dictator didn't allow any Opposition to his/her Beliefs or Rules. They tend to squelch Independent thought or Freedom to Think with yer own Mind. And they also will use Force (Military or Police or even Snoopy Neighbours) to make sure everybody tows the Party line....I think it best describes what it's actually like Living under a Dictator. Some of the Words like Fear + Brutality + Death seem to be hallmarks of Dictatorship rule." And so that leads me to think again that I have heard it said somewhere that death and life are in the power of the tongue. And one website I just searched up interprets this as, "Every single one of us has a certain amount of power residing in our mouth and in our tongues with the words that we can release to other people. This power can either be used to bring life or death to the person that we are speaking to. You can either choose to learn how to speak and release positive words of love, encouragement and edification to other people in your own personal dealings with them, or you can choose to release negative words of condemnation, criticism, coldness and harshness. The choice is yours. And this website goes on and on with a ton more of Proverbs speaking about the power of the tongue:

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." and "There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health. The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment." and "Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." and "The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked." and "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness." and A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

And the list of proverbs goes on and on. If you believe. What does this have to do with a dictatorship, I am not exactly sure. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Dictatorship

Billy Warhol from Billion Dollar Baloney left a comment on my blog today. They posted something about dictators in response to a Blog Action Day posting I posted a few days ago. Billion Dollar Baloney is one of those cool blogs that can be found on MyBloLog and they would like to see world peace. It is easy to get lost in My Blog Log Land land because there are millions, billions, trillions and seemingly gazillions of blogs to be found there in the blogosphere. And this comment leads me to wonder; what the heck is a dictatorship? It that a ship of dictators? A shop of dictators? And what is a dictator. A dictionary ator? Again, what does that Internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this word. I would be interested to read how they describe it. In addition to Billion Dollar Baloney's comment today, I have heard this word used often throughout time and most recently at meetings with groups of people in attendance. And there are sometimes committees and hearings and the like involved at these meetings. And for what reason is this a popular word to be found in group discussions. Is this a political word? And what are politics? Policy tics? I am wondering about this word today. I may go read to see if Wikipedia addresses this word.

All Saints Day

Abracadabra! Halloween is just around the corner and coming soon. So the calendar and advertising says so. It's All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, The Day of the Dead when ghosts and spirits appear. That scary, supernatural and mystical time of year when the the devil, Satan, Christ and the spirits of the dead come to town. When Pan and the Grim Reaper awakes and witchcraft and the witches and gargoyles and gothics come out to play and one when one gets to masquerade and play dress up for whoever they want to be. If only every day of the year could be Halloween then one could look however they want to when they go outside around civilization because hey, it's Halloween. And there will be lots of Halloween events around the city. Two events that come to mind are of course:

The Village Halloween Parade It's that big, major, grand. all out parade that takes place on 6th avenue every year this time of year. There will be hundreds of puppets, different types of music, dancers, artists and thousands of other people in costumes. And then there's the Theater For The New City Village Halloween Costume Ball that takes place every year this time of year also. I think I even heard stories that they were the original creaters of The Village Halloween Parade. They usually have this really cool painted fishpond upstairs that is painted all Halloween up for every Halloween and their downstairs walls are painted with those really col Halloween murals every year this time of year also. Their event is an all out grand event also with a slew of performers, artists, sculptures and designers. Some of their performers for that night are The Great Paprika Band, Hot Lavendar Swing Band, Penny Arcade, Steve Ben Israel, Epstein and Hassan, Eve Packer, Jonathan Weber, Walter Gurbo, Mark Marcante, Crystal Field, Judy Sky, David Willinger and a ton of other performers. There will be stilt danders, jugglers, fire eaters, theater, vaudeville, burlesque and more. Happy Halloween.

Clayton's Art Show

I have been seeing the reviews in the papers the past few weeks. "Clayton Patterson: The Lower East Side. Kinz, Tillou plus Feigen. 11am-6pm. Free. Patterson has spent the past two decades collecting portraits of everyone from politcians to junkies in his eclectic LES neighborhood. 529 West 20th Streets between 10th and 11th Aves". And I keep wanting to make it over to see Claytons art show. I can imagine his show rocks and that he probably has some cool photos in the show as he has been around the neighborhood The Lower East Side that is now called the East Village for marketing, gentrification and genocide purposes maybe, for seemingly forever, documenting the scene and characters of the neighborhood. I can imagine there may be photos of the squats, squatters, Thompkins Square Park, punk rockers, the homeless and maybe even junkies and everyone else in between as his photos are all over the place. He has the really cool gallery in the Lower East Side that rocks also. Long Live The Lower East Side.

Blog Action Day

According to the website Blog Action Day, yesterday October 15th was Blog Action Day, so this posting can be a bit late in honor of that day. And I noticed postings everywhere yesterday and today in the blogosphere in honor of Blog Action Day. There were postings on Blogger, MyBlogLog and a host of other places. And I noticed the postings though it did not register to me what they were about until today, a day later. Blog Action day is a website that asks bloggers to write about something pertaining to saving the environment and saving the world. They are asking people to observe this day in their blog posts everywhere. They are asking bloggers everywhere to post about the environment in some sort of way relating to the environment for the environment. So in my post I can only mention what has been mentioned a thousand and a million times in recent years with the invention of population to where the earth is on fire and choking from its inhabitants. Planet mother earth is dying. And that J curve bell curve thing says the population of the world will double in twenty years. And there are those terms that I read everywhere these days to save the environment; Go green, green is the thing, sustainability and sustaining the earth from what? Over consumption, over consumerism, over pollution, overoilism, over capitalism, overeverything, Babylon on fire and green alternative energy; lights out america is a great website that addresses this issue. And what about oil? Petroleum oil seems to be destroying the world and planet mother earth. What about other alternative sources of energy, windmills, ocean energy, corn fuel and the like. And what about those unusual weather patterns the earth has been undergoing as a result of global warming? Is the world becoming like the film The Day After Tomorrow? This winter was the warmest worldwide since record keeping began in 1880. And what about over mining and violating the earths natural resources and deforesting the planets natural trees. The earth is being pillaged and plundered. How can the environment be protected. And now climate change, global warming and the greenhouse effect is the topic of the day every day these days in the news. The polar bears are floating on ice and the Antarctica ice caps are disappearing. And what abut that 12.21.2012 Mayan calendar theory, is this all related? This has something do with the earth reversing its axis and solar poles and a transformation of the world in 2012 or something, I think. A poem and a sentence of a song comes to mind when I think of planet earth.

The Earth is out mother, the ground we walk is sacred
People unite, all people unite

and

The river she is flowing, flowing and growing
The river she is flowing, down to the sea
Father carry me, your child I'll always be
Mother carry me, down to the sea

Help save planet mother earth. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

The CMJ Music Marathon Rocks

And while I am on the topic of music, according to lots of newspaper listings, The CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival is happening this week October 16-20th. And that also leads me to wonder, what exactly does the letters CMJ stand for? C Music something J. There will be music, films and panels at this event. It seems to be all rock, indie rock, all the time and more. There will be music, music and more music and bands, bands and more bands performing in venues around the New York City area such as Union Pool, Bowery Ballroom, Southpaw, Canal Room, The Delancey, The Annex, Arlene's Grocery, The Knitting Factory, The Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Studio B, Mercury Lounge, B.B. Nublu Rocks

And so I went to go see my friends band, Funk Monk, play at Nublu last night. Nublu is this really cool club in the East Village where Brazilian Girls, Kudu, Forro in the Dark, Love Trio, Wax Poetics, Nublu Orchestra conducted by Butch Morris, The Real Live Show, ElodieO, Karina and a host of other bands and musicians have played at. They are an artists collective. And it seems as if I have been going to this place every so often over the years to listen to their music. And this excursion to listen to my friends band presented yet another great opportunity for me to get my camera out of the closet and play with it once again, as it seems as if the only purpose that it serves these days is to collect dust. And I set the alarm clock to stay awake for when they started playing, as club hour in this town seems to start at midnight, when most people are going to sleep, I think. And so I took photos and videos of the band in my latest experiment with this camera. One can see by the photo above and by the Funk Monk at NUBLU Video on my YouTube page, that these are the results. And Welf's really cool electric synthesizer sounds on his horn rocked that night. Nublu Rocks. Long Live The Lower East Side.

Content For This Site

And so I came across this interesting sentence in one of the comments on my MyBlogLog page the other day. "Need some "Filler" for your site when you have nothing to write about?..." And just those few words alone were enough to catch my eye and get me to reading the rest of that blog comment. Am I not alone in the writers blah blog arena in not having anything to write about and thinking up all sorts of things to write about? I sometimes find myself trying to think up enough thoughts to write about to where I find myself reciting the words of dictionaries and encyclopedias over and over and posting the same post over and over. I thought about copying other websites content but I do not think that is ethical, is it? This MyBlogLog comment goes on to say "How about a Free Online Game or Games for your visitors to play?... Send me a Private Message and I will give you all the info on how to add one of our games to your website...." Oh, games? I am not sure about adding lots of games to this blog. Does this website offer written content, as I am already trying to fill up this website with as many games, videos, poems, saying, cartoons, puzzles and anything else I can think of. Is there hope for writers blah bloggers block in the web 2.0 social media internet blogosphere?

Boston

Boston, what can you say about Boston? There must be lots to say about the state of Boston. This state has a lot of history. Isn't that where the Constitution was written? And if you want to find out more about Boston and are interested in Boston tours, the Boston Welcomes You! Visitors Guide and Directory is there to help you plan your next vacation to Boston. There must be lots of tourist attractions and things to see and do in Boston. What I remember best about Boston is that it is known for that infamous Boston Tea Party decades and centuries ago I think. And then there's that Berklee College of Music School that a lot of classically trained musicians have attended. And isn't this state also known as Beantown? Boston Welcomes You is a great guide for all things Boston and for information, hotels, tours, attractions, museums, sightseeing tours and much much more. They have a wonderful list of Five Must Do's While In Boston if you are short on time in your travel vacation and the whale watching with Boston Harbor Cruises sounds really fun. The Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market sounds interesting also. It was the site of several speeches by Samuel Adams, James Otis and others encouraging independence from Great Britain, and is now part of Boston National Historical Park and a well-known stop on the Freedom Trail. Bostons motto is "Sicut Patribus Sit Deus Nobis" or "God Be with Us as He Was with Our Fathers". Now that's interesting. This is a sponsored post.

Love

Someone sent an interesting email to my MySpace page inbox yesterday. And the email had the words "love love love, love is the greatest therapy". Interesting. Now that makes me think about the word love. What is it abut that word. There has been ton of things said about it throughout the beginning of time and there are another ton of quotes, sayings, phrases, poems, stories, scriptures, verses and philosophies that have been said about it since the beginning of time. Love is what makes the world go round. Without love, life can be meaningless, maybe. And many a lyrics have been sung to many a love song, and the song titles about love are endless. And many books and romance novels have been written on the topic, and they are endless. And why is the word love, evol spelled backwards? Is there some secret hidden meaning there? Is there a definition for this word. What is its meaning and how can it be summed up into one sentence, if at all? What do the horoscopes have to say about it. And regarding relationships, that's a whole another blog posting. Loves covers all things and above all things are love. And what about divine and brotherly love. Here is an interesting verse about love, or is it charity, in the bible. Peace and love.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13.

Sabotage

Sabotage? What's a sabotage. That word came across my mind the other day as I was passing the day away. What does that word mean. Is that one of those anarchists terms. And what is anarchy, the rules are there are no rules? And isn't that the title of that way cool Beastie Boys song. I wonder what the lyrics to their "Sabotage" song is. And that song rocks. Isn't that the title? Doesn't it mean to squash something, to quell something, to silence something. And what is being quashed, quelled and silenced. And what is being sabotaged. And for what reason if any at all. Again, what does that Internet Bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this word. Is this word listed in their encyclopedia. I should go and look that word up now to see what they have to say about it. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Party Time

It's the era of gentrification, genocide or just plain change of a different decade and this neighborhood, the East Village, New York City turns into Disneyland at night with it's velvet rope, guest list, cabs, limousines and drunken people everywhere party scene. It seems like it is one of those neighborhoods that doesn't wake up until midnight time when most people are going to sleep. It's almost as if one needs to set their alarm clock just to wake up to party in this town. An what is it like to be a socialite on the social scene. And what about the nightclub scene, whats it like. Does one find themselves going out with friends or alone, meeting other people or not, being the social diva of the night networking away, or the wall flower blending into the wall with the wall paper. And can't it be about posing, posing and lots of more posing to look cool for the scene. And what about those people watching events that can take place during the place of a night of partying. And it can be a great reason to play dressup and put on a fashion show also. And the music can be great. It's Saturday day today at this moment. Saturday nite is near. Happy nite clubbing and partying.

The Confederate Flag

What's the meaning of the confederate flag and for what reason is its image associatied with the division of people, nationalities, scandals and other not so nice thoughts. What do those red white and blue stars in their arrangement of an x or a cross mean. And why does the word confederate have the word fed in it. Is it a flag of the federal government. Is it a flag of the federate states, and who are the feds, the federate states. What does that Internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have to say about this flag. When I think of this flag it for some reason brings to mind images of the south, the southern states of America. For what reason is it a flag of the south and who are the southerners and what is the meaning of the south. And what about the north, east and west states. And doesn't it have something to do with the civil war also, or some war of the 1800's. Does it represent freedom and oppression. And who is free and oppressed. No one is free when others are oppressed. Is that a whole another blog posting? What is the meaning of that flag, and what is its origin. And what does this have to do with a No Police State.

I have always wondered what a bed and breakfast hotel is. They always sound really fun like one can have breakfast while in bed. If you happen to be looking for one, the lake district bed and breakfast is a beautiful place located north west of England. The Lake district offers a selection of bed and breakfasts hotels, cottages and other accommodations in the Lake District with its beautiful National Park and mountain views.
