The Bank

And in case you have been stuck in the stone age or hiding out underneath one of those rocks, you may have heard by now that on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 183. And Occupy Wall Street and those global revolutions of a movement Occupy Together are still moving fast. And if I must web 2.0 social media user generated content say, that "we're just renting this place out" YouTube video that finds itself posted above with all of its furniture being camped out in a bank is just funny, I think. And the mortgage meltdown continues. And somehow I came across this Fight BAC: Foreclose on Bank of America Facebook event invite the other day throughout my travels in internetland that reads something like:
"Bank of America (BAC) gambled with Americans’ homes and lost, but America has been the one to pay the price. Now BAC is trying to stave off the bankruptcy it deserves by kicking millions of Americans out of our homes.
We're not going to let them. On March 15, Americans will move into BAC branches across the country and take back what’s rightfully ours: HOME. Bring a chair, a bed, a potted plant. Get ready to move in.
BAC has been foreclosing on America for years. But SPRING IS COMING, and America is ready to FIGHT BAC!
And that other US police arrest occupy protesters YouTube Video that also finds itself posted above with a description that reads something like:
"An estimated six to ten demonstrators including photographers were pushed shoved and arrested on Thursday in front of a downtown Manhattan Bank of America branch.",
well it's just not so funny, though that furniture on the street to illustrate that mortgage meltdown idea is kind of funny and ingenious, I think. And the mortgage meltdown continues. And what if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State. Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

An Occupy Wall Street Quote

And on this day finds itself another one of those Sundays that has rolled around. The day of the sun, the day of rest. Or is that Saturday, the Sabbath. And yet I find myself blah blogging away for some reason or another. The only thing constant is change and some stories do not end as you expect. And unless you have been stuck in the stone age or under one of those rocks the past few months, one must have heard of Occupy Wall Street by now, that global revolution of a movement. And Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still moving fast. And in my travels throughout internetland on this day I came across one of those George Orwell quotes for this movement, and 2011, 12 = 1984, and also a Martin Niemoller quote that finds itself quoted for this Occupy Wall Street movement on this Occupy Wall Street day whose Martin Niemoller sermons quote title that seems to be called "First They Came", reads something like as follows:

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I was Protestant.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Als die Nazis die Kommunisten holten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Kommunist.

Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Sozialdemokrat.

Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,
habe ich nicht protestiert;
ich war ja kein Gewerkschafter.

Als sie die Juden holten,
habe ich geschwiegen;
ich war ja kein Jude.

Als sie mich holten,
gab es keinen mehr, der protestierte.
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me -
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Other translations or variants:

In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
And then . . . they came for me . . . And by that time there was no one left to speak up.
Twenty-five years later Niemöller indicated that this was the version he preferred, in a 1971 interview.
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I did not speak out;
As I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I did not speak out;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
As I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
As I was not a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
When the Nazis arrested the Communists,
I said nothing; after all, I was not a Communist.
When they locked up the Social Democrats,
I said nothing; after all, I was not a Social Democrat.
When they arrested the trade unionists,
I said nothing; after all, I was not a trade unionist.
When they arrested me, there was no longer anyone who could protest.
First the Nazis came…
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out —
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out —
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out —
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out —
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me —
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Time Magazine Person of the Year 2011: The Protester

And Time Magazine has their recent issue with their Time Magazine Person of the Year 2011: The Protester article as its cover story that has appeared on this day. And I know Time Magazine has that recent Time Magazine Person of the Year 2011: The Protester issue that has appeared on this day because all of these news articles announcing that Time Magazine person of the year says so. And that description for that Time Magazine Person of the Year 2011 article at their website reads something like as follows.

"Person Of The Year. TIME. The Protester. From The Arab Spring To Athens, From Occupy Wall Street To Moscow."

"A year after a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself ablaze, dissent has spread across the Middle East, reaching Europe and the U.S., reshaping global politics and redefining people power."

And what, if anything does this have to do with a No Police State?

An Occupy Wall Street GA Spokescouncil

And on this web 2.0 social media user generated content day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 80. And Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still moving fast. Or is it? Are they? And it is not so often every so often that I find myself blah blaghing someones facebook post, though this is one of those blaghing times that I find myself reposting that Facebook post, as that post and thread just seems Occupy Wall Street general assembly spokes council interesting to me in bloggerland. And if you happen to be in the neighborhood of that city of New York, as one can read from the text below, there is an occupy wall street general assembly spokes council meeting tonight. And that facebook excerpt of a post that wants to speak for itself reads something like as follows:

seen on facebook, an excerpt... - John Penley - I am going to say what I have been saying for awhile people need to go to Zuccotti especially tonight. If you care about OWSNYC GO and let your voice be heard. This is serious.
...the GA at 7pm? i can be there the last few times have been a mix of frustrating sad and somehow still inspiring because i still support and believe what is happening and being done but it's such a difficult road we have all embarked on...
...Earlier if possible. I believe the Occupiers are going to confront the Spokes Council....
...at zucotti or 60 wall street?...
Confront the Spokes Council? What do you mean confront the Spokes Council?...
...true those GAs can be irritating and overly bureaucratic but we need to be there...if it's money that is dividing people i'm almost of the spirit to say f, blip, blip, k the money let those hoarders have it but let's keep on track, although sadly the people deciding how to spend it are also the ones shaping the direction this movement takes, so we have to stand and keep it in line with original intention...
...Erek you have no idea what has been going on. When was the last time you were at Zuccotti ? The people who have been occupying are tired of decisions being made at a spokescouncil made up of people who never go to Zuccotti anymore....
...The spokescouncil people are going home to warm apartments and then meeting and making decisions for those on the street who have no contact with them. As anyone who has been following me knows I have been begging people to go back to Zuccotti for a long time....
...please if you have not been to Zuccotti or a spokes council in the last two weeks do no comment unless you are going tonight you don't have enough info to make a legitimate comment///
...since the spokes/ga peoole aren't connected to the people on the street any more, only each other from internet discussions and planned meeting indoors, a lot of people are left out of their considerations who are on the street and either can't get back into zucotti because they have large bags / sleeping bags etc, or aren't kept in the loop regarding when and where meetings are going to be held...they tried to get the angry homeless occupiers off their backs when i was there last time by telling them they could get food but only right then (in the middle of the GA) since it was being served a block away from the GA...it really seemed like a dirty trick, since they weren't hungry at all and had probably eaten but the people on the street were angry enough to say "fuck the food, we want to talk about this now"...
...Ok then you should know what is the problem sorry a lot of people are jumping in without having any facts....
...John: Spokescouncils and GAs have NEVER EVER been legitimate organizations. I have never submitted myself to their dictates or their wills. Just as I don't need to stand in the same fu blip, blip, ing park all the time to make a difference. It's all Spectacle, it's not real....

and so on and so on and so on...

And also...

John Penley
At this point there is a total disconnect between the Occupiers, the people going to Zuccotti Park every day and the Spokescouncil which is having meetings in warm spaces but not going to the GA in the park. The Spokescouncil must return to Zuccotti Park or everything will stop.
...Dude no money is going to help people until this is resolved and you have been out of town.
....I need to believe it's possible to reclaim the unity we saw in Sept...
....so sad to hear that ..in Los Angeles they are a bit disconected ..but it is just the fact they have no secure place to gather ...as far as i know , but they are not giving up by any means ..
...The spokescouncil must go all to Zuccotti and have a big GA...
....ll money is shut down until this is resolved...
....No if money is not spent people are getting thrown out of Churches and metro cards stop etc etc if you don't know what is going on you should wait til you get back to comment...
....i agree that if they do not begin to work with the occupiers then we should go to every GA and block their proposals to spend money at every turn...it is a sad solution but it will get their attention and force them to begin to work with the people again who put their asses on the line and in the cold every night...the last GA we went to people wanted to hire trainers for the Medical team to learn urban street survival tactics, which would have been fine and dandy to help the occupiers, except as I brought up, I have not seen any Medics on the street helping for the last couple weeks, so spending nearly 1600 dollars on that seemed kind of silly, why learn how to survive and help people on the streets, when you and your team are all living indoors?...
....at that same GA the people in the park who had been sleeping there for months, and were still hanging out there at night diidn't even recognize the people running the GA so began chanting "who are you? who are you?"...they had not even been sleeping there (or no one recognized them) and somehow still were managing things...
....I hesitate to suggest this but as an absolutely last possible resort, start a new donation line for the park Occupiers?....
....the spokescouncil is composed of representatives from the different working groups who represent their interests at the GA...
....I still do not understand why there has to be a Spokescouncil and when they are representatives they should be on the camp and then they see each other the whole day and you do not need representatives. By the way where are the actions against the 1%?....
....
and so on and so on and so on....

Taken For A Metrocard Ride

The light of the body is the eye. And it is not so often, every so often that I find myself blah blaghing about that seemingly faceless beast of a monster system of the MTA to be found in that city of New York, though this is one of those times where I find myself blah blogging about the NYCMTA. And is Mercury in retrograde or something? Now I'm not trying to be metrocard funny, though I found myself being taken for a New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority subway ride, literally, or something like that, sometime a recent while ago as I was attempting to go my way on that New York City subway ride day, by one of those MTA take your money for those metrocards and not really put that money on your metro card especially if you're not paying attention to it being refilled and buzz you through the gate instead to where you find yourself returning to that metrocard token booth to complain to that pocketed your fare agent an hour and a half later after you see that that money is not on your metro card only to find that pocketed your fare agent attempting to give you your money back that you may or may not want back to where you may find yourself complaining on one of those NYCMTA MTA agent pocketed my fare complaint forms only never to be responded to again, ever, or something like that. Now this is a new one to me in that faceless beast of a Metropolitan Transportation Agency of a going your way system. And could this be one of those reasons why Wall Street is Occupied? And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State?

A Black Friday Buy Nothing Day

It's that time of year again and the holiday season seems to be upon us. And the shop, shop until you drop season seems to also be upon us also. And it's also Occupy Wall Street Day 69 on this Thanksgiving Day of a holiday here in North America according to that Gregorian calendar on the wall. And remember the Indians and eat more tofurky, or something like that. And according to Occupy Wall Street's website tomorrow is also Buy Nothing Day. And their website reads something like as follows:

You’ve been sleeping on the streets for two months pleading peacefully for a new spirit in economics. And just as your camps are raided, your eyes pepper sprayed and your head’s knocked in, another group of people are preparing to camp-out. Only these people aren’t here to support occupy Wall Street, they’re here to secure their spot in line for a Black Friday bargain at Super Target and Macy’s.

Occupy gave the world a new way of thinking about the fat cats and financial pirates on Wall Street. Now lets give them a new way of thinking about the holidays, about our own consumption habits. Lets’ use the coming 20th annual Buy Nothing Day to launch an all-out offensive to unseat the corporate kings on the holiday throne.

This year’s Black Friday will be the first campaign of the holiday season where we set the tone for a new type of holiday culminating with #OCCUPYXMAS. As the global protests of the 99% against corporate greed and casino capitalism continues, lets take the opportunity to hit the empire where it really hurts…the wallet.

On Nov 25/26th we escape the mayhem and unease of the biggest shopping day in North America and put the breaks on rabid consumerism for 24 hours. Flash mobs, consumer fasts, mall sit-ins, community events, credit card-ups, whirly-marts and jams, jams, jams! We don’t camp on the sidewalk for a reduced price tag on a flat screen TV or psycho-killer video game. Instead, we occupy the very paradigm that is fueling our eco, social and political decline.

Historically, Buy Nothing Day has been about fasting from hyper consumerism – a break from the cash register and reflecting on how dependent we really are on conspicuous consumption. On this 20th anniversary of Buy Nothing Day, we take it to the next level, marrying it with the message of #occupy…

We #OCCUPYXMAS.

Shenanigans begin November 25!

Adbusters Buy Nothing Day / #OCCUPYXMAS Page

And that recycle this blog post for Black Friday that found itself posted on this blog some time a while ago, also reads something like as follows:

It's that time of year again, the holiday season is upon us, according to the calendar and advertisements, and it's the most joyous festival time of the year, or is it. And Thanksgiving Day in America is later this week, that nationalistic day to be thankful for something. And remember the Indians, their beads and trinkets, that twenty four dollars and the land of Manna-hatin, and eat more tofurky. No one is free when others are oppressed. And isn't the day after Thanksgiving day Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, or is that the day after Christmas. Well this year the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 23rd, is also Buy Nothing Day and isn't this day celebrated around the world. I am not exactly sure what the story behind this concept is, but I think it has something to do with buying nothing. And Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping will be out there in the streets with shopping events all over New York City all day long. And I imagine there will be a ton of other events in observation of this day. Adbusters will be hitting the streets for a 24 hour consumer fast and there will be a Buy Nothing Day Freegan Feast on this day also. Maybe one can help save the environment and planet earth on this day by consuming less. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Occupy Wall Street Worldwide

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And so today finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 60. And Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still moving fast. And so on this day finds itself with headlines reading with titles like Police arrest 70 Wall Street protesters, New York police evict anti-Wall Street protesters, The NYPD is currently evicting #Occupy from Zuccotti Park, and the list of headlines goes on and on in headline news land. And this is what democracy looks like on this day. And this is what a police state looks like on this day when one turns on the computer, radio, television or walks by the newsstands to read the headline news on this day. 2012, a time for change. And for what reason does this we are the ninety nine percent of a global revolution movement seem as if it wants to all come down to property, who owns the land. Who's right is it to say that the land is for sale anyway. Parens Patraie, father of our country, father of the people. And for what reason does that word patriot have the word riot in it, and what does parens patraie, father of our country mean, as I think this word is what involuntary slavery and servitude is based on, maybe, the idea that the state owns an individual. A man is born free but he is in chains, I read somewhere. And does that internet bible dictionary Wikipedia have an entry for this phrase. And that NYPD raid video: OWS protesters arrested at Zuccotti Park YouTube video that finds itself posted above, well it just seems to NYPD, New York department of polizei raid video: OWS protesters arrested at Zuccotti Park speak for itself. And that other Occupy Wall Street Protesters Cleared From Zuccotti Park YouTube video that finds itself posted above also, well it just seems to Occupy Wall Street Protesters Cleared From Zuccotti Park speak for itself also. You can't evict an idea whose time has come. When justice ends, tyranny begins. No one is free when others are oppressed. We are the 99%. We are the legions. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Occupy Wall Street Worldwide.

"Occupy Art" Show At Theater For The New City

Hey again Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And an Occupy Art Show at Theater for the New City is happening on November 12th in that neighborhood of the Lower East Side now called the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, to be found in that city of New York to be found in that country of North America. And that "Occupy Art" Show at Theater For The New City is happening on a date so far away as I blah blog this post, that I can't even think that far, I think, sometimes, maybe. Though that event seems to be happening amongst a seemingly bazillion other Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together events. And in case you have been stuck in the stone age or under one of those rocks and haven't heard of Occupy Wall Street by now, the description of that movement or revolution reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. This is a peaceful protest and violence will not be tolerated." And also another Occupy Wall Street Facebook event that reads something like "The Occupation Has Begun. Join us at Zuccotti Park (Liberty St & Trinity Place) in NYC beginning on September 17, we want to see 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices". And those Occupy Art photos that I posted above, well they just seem to Occupy Wall Street Occupy Art speak for themselves. Occupy Wall Street Day 28

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And so instead of posting that Ode To Blogging poem that I sometimes find myself posting when that Google page rank update wants to send me in search of a fifth full time job with Wall Street as my occupation, I somehow find myself posting that on this blogging day finds itself Occupy Wall Street Day 28 for that event that has found itself in the headline news lately. And as far as I blagher know, tomorrow, October 15th is supposed to be Global Revolution or is it Global Change, International Day of Action Day. And there are so many events going on tomorrow and beyond as part of this Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together movement, that it almost seems impossible to keep track of them all. And those photos and video that find themselves posted above, well they just seem to occupy wall street speak for themselves. And it seems to be all about occupy wall street worldwide and beyond. Oh, and by the way... seen on facebook - "We have entered the ninth and final Mayan wave/age towards unity consciousness. And it begins on 10/28. " A time for change, an awakening. I am/we are the ninety nine percent. Occupy wall street worldwide. And some of those events to be found tomorrow and in the coming days are as follows:

The Occupation Party . you're invited to the occupation party saturday, october 15, time square, nyc. and that design for that occupy wall street times square invitation Shepard Fairey rocks. o The Awake & Inspired,. This Saturday at 5pm we take: Times Square ...with music, performance and a message that the people of this country - not the banks, not the corporations - hold the true ..

and

John Penly is planning to Occupy Tompkins Square Park tomorrow. And his facebook invite reads something like OCCUPY TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK / 24 HOURS / TOMPKINS SQUARE EVERYWHERE, Tomorrow at 12:00pm - Sunday at 12:00pm, TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK EAST 7TH ST. AND AVE. A LOWER EAST SIDE NEW YORK CITY.

and then there's

that Occupy Wall Street page itself with a seemingly ton of posts amongst them being:

October 15th Global Day Of Action. Hi, we write you from the International Commission of Sol, in Madrid (Spain). We know that you have a lot to do in the USA, as we have here in Spain, but the 15O is coming and we need you to make a milestone in history out of it. It's the great chance we expected to start a real global revolution! This is what we are doing, and could be wonderful if you join us:

Please spread the web page of the call http://15october.net/, the graphic material http://15october.net/spread-it/ and the videos http://15october.net/category/video/. And please send us your videos, banners, posters to contact.takethesquare@gmail.com so that we can compile them and put them in common. Send all of this through your mailing lists, to all your contacts, but also to all your friends.

Explain to everybody that this is not just one mobilization. It's more of "we are reinventing ourselves". Tell the occupiers how the movement is popping all over the world that extend from the streets of the Middle East to Wall Street. Also tell the occupiers that over 650 cities have already confirmed they will do an event on October 15th . You can check in http://map.15october.net/ and if a city plans to do an event invite; tell them to add it to the map. http://map.15october.net/reports/submit Explain to them that 15O is the moment to wake up all of us together and especially tell them that it is in their hands to make it a success. It's not any more about parties, organizations or unions. The call should come from all of the organizations and from the people of the world like you. There is a text that could be very useful to send this last message: "who are you?" http://map.15october.net/page/index/1

It would be great to tell your friends abroad to spread it through their countries. We need one revolution in each single city of the world.

For a further explanation about the mobilization and a more specific plan there is a document written by the international network takethesquare. http://takethesquare.net/2011/09/24/15th-october-whats-the-plan-15oct/

In order to promote and discuss the activities for October 15th, everyone is encouraged to participate and to organize local meetings to plan the details and discuss the preparation of the events for the 15th. There will also be a chat http://webchat.freenode.net/?randomnick=1&channels=15october&prompt=1 , an audio-chat (mumble: Download in http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ Host:tomalaplaza.net Port:64738, see the tutorial in http://takethesquare.net/2011/10/04/mumble-setup-walkthrough/) and a collaborative document pad http://titanpad.com/15october open to everybody, so during the 48 hours people from all the world will be able of talking about the ideas and activities decided in their squares with every other occupation in the world! All the channels will be open for everybody...just participate!

Occupy Wall Street Day 22

And according to those headline news of the day, Occupy Wall Street is still happening. And I know Occupy Wall Street is still happening because all of those photos posted above and seemingly a ton of news articles that finds itself in the headline news says so. And Occupy Wall Street seems to find itself occupying other streets across America as well. And a No Comment Art Show is happening with an Anti-Flag performance at Liberty Square on this day as well. And the description for those Occupy Wall Street events reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. This is a peaceful protest and violence will not be tolerated." And also another Occupy Wall Street event that reads something like "The Occupation Has Begun. Occupy Wall Street Day 13

And in case you haven't heard, that seemingly occupy everything worldwide of an event of Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still happening. And as far as I blagher know, today is Occupy Wall Street Day 13. And I know those Occupy Wall Street events are still happening because a ton of different Occupy Wall Street events that find themselves posted all over facebook and beyond says so. And Occupy Wall Street reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. This is a peaceful protest and violence will not be tolerated." and also like "The Occupation Has Begun. Join us at Zuccotti Park (Liberty St & Trinity Place) in NYC beginning on September 17, we want to see 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. And then there's Nedslist. And I am not exactly blogger sure what Nedslist is, though it seems to be a mailing list that wants to arrive in that email inbox every week or so. And so this weeks Nedslist reads something like:

[Nedslist] 09/28/11: Corrente: Ms ExPat: Don't be afraid to say revolution!‏

Dr. Cornel West was at Zuccotti Park last night, and Ms. ExPat got video of it. Here's her account, but follow the link to her blogpost to see the video.

Don't Be Afraid to Say Revolution!

Wed, 09/28/2011 - 1:55am — MsExPat

"Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will smile from the grave/ And say, we movin' step by step/ Toward what he called a revolution/Don't be afraid to say, Revolution!"

"Cornel West is here", Milcho said, as we were wandering through Zuccotti Park at dusk. The sky was gray and it smelled like rain; people here and there were securing food, medicine, bedding, under plastic tarps. Milcho, Wendy and Amy and I came to Wall Street together tonight. I am corralling everyone I know to come to the Park to see this live and without filters. And you who are reading this, and can get here should come too, for this is history, friends!

We walked over to the meeting area, and sure enough, there was the unmistakable corona of hair, the too-long white shirtcuffs. We followed him up to the meeting area, sat down. And then watched as tonight's General Assembly of Occupy Wall Street unfolded:

It's late, and I'm too tired to write this well, but as the 11th night of Occupy Wall Street closes, I note a couple of new things:

1. Demographics: Changing, indeed. More diverse, different ages. Some union people, college professors doing teach-ins, old lefties having a look-see. Also: the front line of the media has officially landed. Yesterday it was Michael Moore, today Susan Sarandon. Matt Taibbi says he's visiting tomorrow. Moore is coming back tomorrow to film the General Assembly with Laurence O'Donnell for his MSNBC show. I think O'Donnell is a jerk, but if they just sit back and film the process of the meeting, that would be a real breakthrough in changing the MSM narrative, I think. Right now, most of the people I talk to in my daily life still think OWS is a hippie fest.

2. Cops: Now there are two kinds of blue shirts on the scene--the regular patrol cops, and the (kinder, gentler) Community liason cops in royal blue polo shirts. No white shirts. When the community police are around, you know someone is worried about image. What this says to me is that the city's decided that more violence would be really bad for optics.

3. The Organization--continues to dazzle! After West's remarks, the meeting began with reports from Outreach Committees (they've teamed up with an important black radio station in Philadelphia for Occupy Philly, and they're going to support the Verizon worker's union strike), from the Medics who've started a counseling service, from techies who are doing Linux and open source teach-ins, and from the Laundry Committee, who've washed everything. They've even organized morning tours of Wall Street, which they're offering free to passing tourists!

The most interesting report though was from the committee that's drafting Demands. This is the big media sticking point ("But What Do They Want? There's No Unified Message!").

The group is going to use the next few days to talk about demands. And then here's what they'll do: on Friday, they will spread blank sheets of white paper all across the park. Some will have topic headings, some will be all blank. Magic markers will then be distributed, and everyone will write, in large letters, the issues and goals they think are most important. If you agree with someone's poster, you can put a "Check".

Fascinating! It is actually rather Chinese in technique. It reminds me of the student Big Character Posters that appeared in Tienanmen Square.

After the writing exercise, they'll collect all the papers and collate them into a larger online manifesto, which can then be debated/modified/changed online in a Wikipedia-style collaboration.

4. Location, location location: It's becoming clearer that the choice of New York City, as opposed to say, Washington DC, for the launch of this effort, was genius. For what it says is, of course, that this movement is not about the US government. The real enemy is the Financial-Bankster complex. I have not heard or seen any mention of any political candidate or party inside the Park. Forget "post-partisan"--that was so 2008. This is a post-party movement. It is what we Correntians have been waiting for--but not in the form we expected!

5. Obama is dead, dead, dead. Really. These young people were his eager troops. And they've moved on. Way on. The talk on the ground is not about elections anymore. It's about transforming society.

That's it for now. I urge all of you who can to come to Wall Street if you possibly can make it. This is one of those moments when time seems to hover and pause, and focus is laser-sharp. It's a rare moment of collective creativity. Who could have guessed it would bloom now?

And those photos that are posted above, well they just seem to Occupy Wall Street speak for themselves. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State? Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Occupy Wall Street Day 11

Hey yet again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And today is Occupy Wall Street Day 11, I think. And I know that today is Occupy Wall Street Day 11 and that that Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still happening because all of those posts posted all over the internet and beyond and this We are the 99% Solidarity March with #occupywallstreet facebook event and that Press Conference On Police Misconduct Against Occupy Wall St. Protests Facebook event says so. And that description for that facebook event reads like "We the 99% will not be silent and we will not be intimidated. This Saturday thousands more of us will march together as one to show that it is time that the 99% are heard." And the description of that other Facebook event reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. Trade This Stock

And as far as I blogger know from those headline news of the day, the economy seems as if it wants to have one of those everything must go going out of business sales and Wall Street wants to be occupied with the ninety nine percent people. And even in the midst of these headline news, I still find myself blogging about the phrases Online Trading, Online Broker and Stock Trading for some reason or a blogging another. And if you happen to be looking to trade those stocks online, you can trade them at Firstrade. They are a website where you can find online stock trading, mobile trading, mutual funds, stock trading, bonds, CDs, retirement accounts and just about anything when it comes to the stock market and wall street. And so what else is there that I can say about that word money that has not already been said in money blogger time. Well, with the invention of all things internet, one can now trade those stocks and more without ever having to leave home, or at least without ever having to leave one of those computers, as now finding those online brokers and more can be just a website visit away.

Occupy Wall Street Day 8

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And so I was wondering how that Occupy Wall Street Day 8 in that city of New York and that Occupy Together in those cities of Chicago, Cleveland, Michigan, Kansas City, Minnesota, Los Angeles, San Diego, Nebraska and who knows where else are doing. And those descriptions of Occupy Wall Street reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices". And the description of that YouTube video reads something like "Three years after Lehman's collapse, hundreds of protesters gathered to 'Occupy Wall Street', forcing the NYPD to close some streets." And so now with all things internet I guess I have a web 2.0 social media user generated content idea of how Occupy Wall Street Day 8 is going according to that YouTube video that finds itself posted above. And that video seems to Occupy Wall Street speak for itself. Occupy Wall Street worldwide. And what, if anything, does this have to do with a No Police State? Occupy Wall Street Day 5

Hey yet again bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. And Adbusters says that Occupy Wall Street day 5 is still happening. And I know Occupy Wall Street day 5 still happening because these facebook photos, this live blog for occupy wall street and that YouTube video that finds itself posted above says so. And according to some of those event descriptions it is an "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. Occupy Wall Street

Hey Bloggers, or whoever could be reading this blog. Wall Street is closed, I think... as protesters march to Occupy Wall Street. And I know Wall Street is occupied because this facebook event and that CNN Money, Wall Street closed as protesters YouTube video that finds itself embedded disabled by request and not posted above, or is it posted above, says so. And the description of that Facebook event reads something like "All day occupation (possibly longer) of Wall Street to oppose in numbers the corruption, financial treachery, oligarchy, and forced debts imposed on us by an irresponsible and unapproachable Wall Street (world financial center) sister protests may also take place in similar California Financial Centers if enough interest is shown. Trade This Stock

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blog. And if I must blogger say, that economy thing sure has been in the news a lot lately with headlines reading something like America is in debt, the world is going broke, the economy is tanking and everyone seems as if they want to have one of those going out of business everything must go sales and the Federal Reserve and Treasury can't seem to print up enough money fast enough to cover it all, or something like that. And so with that thought in mind, I find myself blogging about the phrases online trading, online brokers and IRA accounts for some reason or another. And if you happen to be looking for these phrases in in the midst of this recession impending depression of an economy, then good for you, I guess, as these trade your way all the way to the bank phrases can still be found in these seemingly gloom and doom economic times with just a website visit away.

The Passport

And so this seems to be yet another one of those recycle this blog posts that I find myself posting on this blog every so often these days...
For what reason is the number of that passport immigration law that prohibits freedom of travel amongst humanity anywhere on planet earth, and that Section 666 Social Security Act, cashless society, national I.D., the number of your name to receive any state services and everything else in between thing, 666? Is this that save no man that he may buy or sell except that he have the mark of the beast thing in the book of Revelations. Is this written in prophecy somewhere. Did George Orwell or Nostradamus predict this? Is that a coincidence or on purpose that this law has the same number of that beast thing. And who or what is the beast, and what is that mark on ones right hand or forehead. What does that mark represent or mean, if anything. And what's up with that UPC bar code photo that I placed in this blog entry. And for what reason do all universal product codes contain this number. What the heck does that mean? Is that the number of the beast, the number of man? And what's that New World Order, Verichip and RFID tag thing all about. Big Brother, Brave New World and technology are here and that's a whole another blog posting. And I have heard so many green card immigration nightmare stories about green card marriages, lotteries and green card everything else in between. Of people leaving a country and not being able to return for whatever reason. And the stories of loss of life while crossing a border, whether by land or sea. And for what reason are there boarders, divisions, restrictions, barriers and territories of land in this world. And for what reason are people not free to travel anywhere in the world without the permission of someone else. Who invented this concept. Is it possible to undo this passport, visa, citizenship, where are your papers to come here law so that everyone can be free to travel anywhere in this world. For what reason does this concept exist. And who is a foreigner. Aren't we all strangers in this land. Is another world possible. No one is free when others are oppressed. It is Sunday today, day of God, a day of rest. Or is that Saturday, the Sabbath, Sabado. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Profit

And so this posts seems as if it has something to do with money, gold. And I have heard it said that power and authority breeds corruption. And I have also heard it said that for the love of money is the root of all evil and while some have coveted after they have pierced themselves through with many arrows and sorrows. And what profit does a man have if he gains the whole world and loses his soul. Or something like that. And if only it were possible to exist in life on planet earth for free without that constant struggle for having to attain that thing called money just to exist. And so this post happens to be about Wicked Profits of which I guess has something to do with making money in a pyramid of capitalist society, maybe. And what does that word capitalism mean anyway? And so what else is there that I can say about this word profit that has not already been said in time, except profit also seems as if it has something to do with the money market, wall street and the stock exchange, and also that film "Money Never Sleeps". And if you happen to be looking for those wicked profits, finding them can be just a website visit away.

10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

Now this is one interesting post I came across on facebook in my facebookaholicness on one of those Sunday day of the sun, day of rest days. So interesting, that I thought to repost it. And though it could read like some novel about entrepreneurship, this is one of those website posts that seems as if it wants to speak for itself, maybe.

10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

Just for fun I recently asked Erin, “Now that the kids are in summer school, don’t you think it’s about time you went out and got yourself a job? I hate seeing you wallow in unemployment for so long.”

She smiled and said, “Wow. I have been unemployed a really long time. That’s weird… I like it!”

Neither of us have had jobs since the ’90s (my only job was in 1992), so we’ve been self-employed for quite a while. In our household it’s a running joke for one of us to say to the other, “Maybe you should get a job, derelict!”

It’s like the scene in The Three Stooges where Moe tells Curly to get a job, and Curly backs away, saying, “No, please… not that! Anything but that!”

It’s funny that when people reach a certain age, such as after graduating college, they assume it’s time to go out and get a job. But like many things the masses do, just because everyone does it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. In fact, if you’re reasonably intelligent, getting a job is one of the worst things you can do to support yourself. There are far better ways to make a living than selling yourself into indentured servitude.

Here are some reasons you should do everything in your power to avoid getting a job:

1. Income for dummies.

Getting a job and trading your time for money may seem like a good idea. There’s only one problem with it. It’s stupid! It’s the stupidest way you can possibly generate income! This is truly income for dummies.

Why is getting a job so dumb? Because you only get paid when you’re working. Don’t you see a problem with that, or have you been so thoroughly brainwashed into thinking it’s reasonable and intelligent to only earn income when you’re working? Have you never considered that it might be better to be paid even when you’re not working? Who taught you that you could only earn income while working? Some other brainwashed employee perhaps?

Don’t you think your life would be much easier if you got paid while you were eating, sleeping, and playing with the kids too? Why not get paid 24/7? Get paid whether you work or not. Don’t your plants grow even when you aren’t tending to them? Why not your bank account?

Who cares how many hours you work? Only a handful of people on this entire planet care how much time you spend at the office. Most of us won’t even notice whether you work 6 hours a week or 60. But if you have something of value to provide that matters to us, a number of us will be happy to pull out our wallets and pay you for it. We don’t care about your time — we only care enough to pay for the value we receive. Do you really care how long it took me to write this article? Would you pay me twice as much if it took me 6 hours vs. only 3?

Non-dummies often start out on the traditional income for dummies path. So don’t feel bad if you’re just now realizing you’ve been suckered. Non-dummies eventually realize that trading time for money is indeed extremely dumb and that there must be a better way. And of course there is a better way. The key is to de-couple your value from your time.

Smart people build systems that generate income 24/7, especially passive income. This can include starting a business, building a web site, becoming an investor, or generating royalty income from creative work. The system delivers the ongoing value to people and generates income from it, and once it’s in motion, it runs continuously whether you tend to it or not. From that moment on, the bulk of your time can be invested in increasing your income (by refining your system or spawning new ones) instead of merely maintaining your income.

This web site is an example of such a system. At the time of this writing, it generates about $9000 a month in income for me (update: $40,000 a month as of 10/31/06), and it isn’t my only income stream either. I write each article just once (fixed time investment), and people can extract value from them year after year. The web server delivers the value, and other systems (most of which I didn’t even build and don’t even understand) collect income and deposit it automatically into my bank account. It’s not perfectly passive, but I love writing and would do it for free anyway. But of course it cost me a lot of money to launch this business, right? Um, yeah, $9 is an awful lot these days (to register the domain name). Everything after that was profit.

Sure it takes some upfront time and effort to design and implement your own income-generating systems. But you don’t have to reinvent the wheel — feel free to use existing systems like ad networks and affiliate programs. Once you get going, you won’t have to work so many hours to support yourself. Wouldn’t it be nice to be out having dinner with your spouse, knowing that while you’re eating, you’re earning money? If you want to keep working long hours because you enjoy it, go right ahead. If you want to sit around doing nothing, feel free. As long as your system continues delivering value to others, you’ll keep getting paid whether you’re working or not.

Your local bookstore is filled with books containing workable systems others have already designed, tested, and debugged. Nobody is born knowing how to start a business or generate investment income, but you can easily learn it. How long it takes you to figure it out is irrelevant because the time is going to pass anyway. You might as well emerge at some future point as the owner of income-generating systems as opposed to a lifelong wage slave. This isn’t all or nothing. If your system only generates a few hundred dollars a month, that’s a significant step in the right direction.

2. Limited experience.

You might think it’s important to get a job to gain experience. But that’s like saying you should play golf to get experience playing golf. You gain experience from living, regardless of whether you have a job or not. A job only gives you experience at that job, but you gain ”experience” doing just about anything, so that’s no real benefit at all. Sit around doing nothing for a couple years, and you can call yourself an experienced meditator, philosopher, or politician.

The problem with getting experience from a job is that you usually just repeat the same limited experience over and over. You learn a lot in the beginning and then stagnate. This forces you to miss other experiences that would be much more valuable. And if your limited skill set ever becomes obsolete, then your experience won’t be worth squat. In fact, ask yourself what the experience you’re gaining right now will be worth in 20-30 years. Will your job even exist then?

Consider this. Which experience would you rather gain? The knowledge of how to do a specific job really well — one that you can only monetize by trading your time for money – or the knowledge of how to enjoy financial abundance for the rest of your life without ever needing a job again? Now I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have the latter experience. That seems a lot more useful in the real world, wouldn’t you say?

3. Lifelong domestication.

Getting a job is like enrolling in a human domestication program. You learn how to be a good pet.

Look around you. Really look. What do you see? Are these the surroundings of a free human being? Or are you living in a cage for unconscious animals? Have you fallen in love with the color beige?

How’s your obedience training coming along? Does your master reward your good behavior? Do you get disciplined if you fail to obey your master’s commands?

Is there any spark of free will left inside you? Or has your conditioning made you a pet for life?

Humans are not meant to be raised in cages. You poor thing…

4. Too many mouths to feed.

Employee income is the most heavily taxed there is. In the USA you can expect that about half your salary will go to taxes. The tax system is designed to disguise how much you’re really giving up because some of those taxes are paid by your employer, and some are deducted from your paycheck. But you can bet that from your employer’s perspective, all of those taxes are considered part of your pay, as well as any other compensation you receive such as benefits. Even the rent for the office space you consume is considered, so you must generate that much more value to cover it. You might feel supported by your corporate environment, but keep in mind that you’re the one paying for it.

Another chunk of your income goes to owners and investors. That’s a lot of mouths to feed.

It isn’t hard to understand why employees pay the most in taxes relative to their income. After all, who has more control over the tax system? Business owners and investors or employees?

You only get paid a fraction of the real value you generate. Your real salary may be more than triple what you’re paid, but most of that money you’ll never see. It goes straight into other people’s pockets.

What a generous person you are!

5. Way too risky.

Many employees believe getting a job is the safest and most secure way to support themselves.

Morons.

Social conditioning is amazing. It’s so good it can even make people believe the exact opposite of the truth.

Does putting yourself in a position where someone else can turn off all your income just by saying two words (“You’re fired”) sound like a safe and secure situation to you? Does having only one income stream honestly sound more secure than having 10?

The idea that a job is the most secure way to generate income is just silly. You can’t have security if you don’t have control, and employees have the least control of anyone. If you’re an employee, then your real job title should be professional gambler.

6. Having an evil bovine master.

When you run into an idiot in the entrepreneurial world, you can turn around and head the other way. When you run into an idiot in the corporate world, you have to turn around and say, “Sorry, boss.”

Did you know that the word boss comes from the Dutch word baas, which historically means master? Another meaning of the word boss is “a cow or bovine.” And in many video games, the boss is the evil dude that you have to kill at the end of a level.

So if your boss is really your evil bovine master, then what does that make you? Nothing but a turd in the herd.

Who’s your daddy?

7. Begging for money.

When you want to increase your income, do you have to sit up and beg your master for more money? Does it feel good to be thrown some extra Scooby Snacks now and then?

Or are you free to decide how much you get paid without needing anyone’s permission but your own?

If you have a business and one customer says “no” to you, you simply say “next.”

8. An inbred social life.

Many people treat their jobs as their primary social outlet. They hang out with the same people working in the same field. Such incestuous relations are social dead ends. An exciting day includes deep conversations about the company’s switch from Sparkletts to Arrowhead, the delay of Microsoft’s latest operating system, and the unexpected delivery of more Bic pens. Consider what it would be like to go outside and talk to strangers. Ooooh… scary! Better stay inside where it’s safe.

If one of your co-slaves gets sold to another master, do you lose a friend? If you work in a male-dominated field, does that mean you never get to talk to women above the rank of receptionist? Why not decide for yourself whom to socialize with instead of letting your master decide for you? Believe it or not, there are locations on this planet where free people congregate. Just be wary of those jobless folk — they’re a crazy bunch!

9. Loss of freedom.

It takes a lot of effort to tame a human being into an employee. The first thing you have to do is break the human’s independent will. A good way to do this is to give them a weighty policy manual filled with nonsensical rules and regulations. This leads the new employee to become more obedient, fearing that s/he could be disciplined at any minute for something incomprehensible. Thus, the employee will likely conclude it’s safest to simply obey the master’s commands without question. Stir in some office politics for good measure, and we’ve got a freshly minted mind slave.

As part of their obedience training, employees must be taught how to dress, talk, move, and so on. We can’t very well have employees thinking for themselves, now can we? That would ruin everything.

God forbid you should put a plant on your desk when it’s against the company policy. Oh no, it’s the end of the world! Cindy has a plant on her desk! Summon the enforcers! Send Cindy back for another round of sterility training!

Free human beings think such rules and regulations are silly of course. The only policy they need is: “Be smart. Be nice. Do what you love. Have fun.”

10. Becoming a coward.

Have you noticed that employed people have an almost endless capacity to whine about problems at their companies? But they don’t really want solutions – they just want to vent and make excuses why it’s all someone else’s fault. It’s as if getting a job somehow drains all the free will out of people and turns them into spineless cowards. If you can’t call your boss a jerk now and then without fear of getting fired, you’re no longer free. You’ve become your master’s property.

When you work around cowards all day long, don’t you think it’s going to rub off on you? Of course it will. It’s only a matter of time before you sacrifice the noblest parts of your humanity on the altar of fear: first courage… then honesty… then honor and integrity… and finally your independent will. You sold your humanity for nothing but an illusion. And now your greatest fear is discovering the truth of what you’ve become.

I don’t care how badly you’ve been beaten down. It is never too late to regain your courage. Never!
