A Bushwick Wyckoff Art Crawl 2020

And I have vended those Black Lives Matter necklaces, magnets, key chains and pins for $2 each at Uta's Bushwick Wyckoff Fridays before that scary virus that came from out of nowhere appeared earlier this year. And this time it was her Bushwick Wyckoff Art Crawl that she was having, or had this past weekend in that neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn, to be found in that city of New York. And her description for this event reads something like as follows:

Arts in Action Organization

growing visibility, network and self reliance for artists

SEPT 20, 1pm – 8 pm Wyckoff Ave between Jefferson Street x Willoughby Street, Bushwick NY 11237

Artists, musicians, performers, gather with friends and fans of the arts in the public space in our beloved Bushwick!
Join the art crawl along Wyckoff Ave to see the showcases and installations.

Experience performances and music in the ultra creative BushwickBrooklyn, hottest art community in New York City!
Bushwick artists represent a genuine, cutting edge, real and raw as well sophisticated art community not to be missed while in existence.

Particularly now in the pandemic aftermath and season of continued instability and fear, ART IS ESSENTIAL

Performance art with Hector Canonge, 3pm – 5pm:

and….

Paint a van invites artists to paint a vehicle, a big Ford van for the Church of Good Deeds invites graffiti writers and artists to spell the title of this non profit in creative (graffiti) lettering plus their fun images,

and various panels of the minivan of Fishwithbraids are open to creative work! Some paints provided, however bring your usual spray, markers, and paints

Artist responses to COVID, installations, questions and comments will appear on signs along this crawl, exercising the freedom of speech, instigating discussion.

A Black Lives Matter display with Carla Jean is part of this event, as she has been since 2016

Music Dj sets by Right on Shawn (house), Mikey Microphone (varieties of Techno), Wild Embeddings with acts and music (experimental electronic): 2 set locations: 9 Wyckoff Ave and at 49 Wyckoff Ave, 1pm – 8pm

Organizer: Arts in Action Corporation, a non for profit organization, by artists, for artists. Contact: Uta Brauser, email: artsinactionny@gmail.com

and Crackhead Barney was there doing her performance as well.

And there were more thoughts shared on those “Your Thoughts on Black Lives Matter” banners that were displayed, some of which read:

1. Art is an arsenal. What’s your weapon of choice.

2.We are the majority, not the minority.

3. HUMANIZE BLACKNESS @veee.chi

4. Gentrification, get the f*ck otta our hoods!

5. FEAR OF A BLACK PLANET

6. F*ck The Police!

7. UNITY @ S.R.The_Rebel

8. UN PUEBLO UNIDO (heart) @lauc.art

9. LOVEOVERHATE (with a beautiful drawing of what looks like a bear), @eusantos_artist

10. In order for All lives to matter, Black Lives must Matter. That’s why Black Lives Matter

11.  gentrifiers GTFO the hood

12. All Black Lives Matter! Including LGBTQ. My people, let us lead by example by showing nothing can come against us as long as we have each other! STOP KILLING US! ACAB. We are royalty! We are melanin! We are magic! We are Black! @46Buddha

13. ANGELIQUE. It’s exhausting being hated/hated on our beauty, brains and light. We can never loot as much as “THEY” took from US! F*UCK THE POLICE! Free all my sons! 2020 and our minds are still cages.

And there are no other words I can think of to describe this event except what those photos and videos that find themselves posted above can say and also what some of those poster boards that were displayed at this event said. “Art is Essential”, “pandemic, planedemic, scamdemic, Induced Panic”, panicdemic. “FEARDOM”, “FEAR is the most effective form of CONTROL”, "covid is a political plan. Free yourself." and “Why do we wear masks inside our cars with our own private air” #occupyart  #blacklivesmatter

A May Day Rain Show

Hey again bloggers or whoever could be reading this blagh. And so this post happens to be about vending a DecorForU rain sale of ‪#‎blacklivesmatter‬, ‪#‎occupywallstreet‬, ‪#‎berniesanders‬ ‪#‎nopolicestate‬ and ‪#‎theshadow‬ necklaces, magnets and key chains @ Mayday Space @ MAY DAY CELEBRATION: block party, classes, film & community dinner for when singing that no police state song @ May Day PUNK Show at Tompkins Square gets rained out, cancelled or postponed. And as I had blaghed in that previous blog post about a May Day PUNK Show at Tompkins Square, there was supposed to be a May Day show at Tompkins Square Park in that city of New York yesterday. Well it got rained out and rescheduled for next weekend and I found myself vending those all things Bernie Sanders and more necklaces at May Day Space MAY DAY CELEBRATION: block party, classes, film & community dinner instead, as in those photos that find themselves posted above. And if I must blagher say, Mayday Space is this really cool space in Bushwick Brooklyn that has all things save the world events and more. And how those other May Day outdoor events in the New York City area faired in this May Day rain weather I am not sure, but in case you happen to be interested, this MAY DAY NYC 2016 WEEKEND ROUND-UP list may tell you below:
