An Atlantic Avenue Extravaganza Dekalb Market Event

And even though on this day finds itself as Occupy Wall Street Day 273 and Occupy Wall Street and Occupy Together are still moving fast, I still find myself blaghing about music, music and more music and events, events and more events. And so an Atlantic Avenue Extravaganza and a Nickodemus MOON PEOPLE release party in Brooklyn are happening in that city of Brooklyn to be found in that state of New York this weekend. And I know this block party and record release party are happening in that city of Brooklyn this weekend because some friends who are playing at these events says so, or something like that. And so that email I received for these events reads something like as follows: Have a great music festival and more day.

We will be playing @ the Atlantic Ave Extravaganza, a block party in downtown Brooklyn, June 16th, 2-4pm. Bring your block party dancing shoes. Hope to see you there. Atlantic Avenue Extravaganza Come 16 June, the new Atlantic Avenue Business Improvement District will be throwing a street party to end all street parties (you know until the Atlantic Antic rolls around in the fall). The Atlantic Avenue Extravaganza runs from 1pm to 5pm and includes special events, performances, demonstrations, tastings, tours, games, and more. Expect a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band on the sidewalk in front of the Atlantic Avenue BID’s office at 340 Atlantic Avenue (between Smith and Hoyt Streets), a sidewalk parade, the official unfurling of the BID banners, and the “Sanitation Dance”, a choreographed piece by the modern dance awareness society in which the new Atlantic Avenue BID sanitation uniforms will be unveiled. Other performers include: the stilt walkers of Circus Amok; the acrobats of LAVA; Bindlestiff Cavalcade of Youth All-Stars; the Balkan sounds of Raya Bass Band; Batala NYC, an all-female percussion band, and Underground Horns, the brass band renowned for its Afro Funk Bhangra New Orleans grooves. Artists from Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition – more commonly known as BWAC – will also participate. Here is a list of local businesses, including food and services (soccer fans, take notice of Upper 90′s large screen featuring live broadcast of the Euro 2012 Championships):
