I would like to invite you to my Black Lives Matter NYC panel with Mia Anderson, Deb Lee and Paul DeRienzo as speakers as part of this years Left Forum 2015 conference at John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York, Saturday, May 30th, 3:15pm - 5:00pm in Room 1.76 .
Discussions of Black Lives Matter, Justice for Eric Garner and all victims of racist police brutality events that have taken place in and around New York City. Black Lives Matter NYC is inspired by the Ferguson and Occupy Wall Street protests. Black Lives Matter NYC members and documenting artists discuss different ways and ideas to expand scope, perspective and inspiration towards an ongoing series of future events around this theme and time and to continue the discussion in a variety of media and strategies at events. There will be a slide show presentation of Black Lives Matter events that have taken place the past year in NYC.
Left Forum is the largest annual conference of the broad Left in the United States. Each spring thousands of conference participants come together to discuss pressing local, national and global issues; to better understand commonalities and differences, and alternatives to current predicaments; or to share ideas to help build social movements to transform the world.
This year's theme of Left Forum is
