Black Lives Matter @ Left Forum

And even though on this day finds itself as Memorial Day in that country of North America, I still find myself blogging about Black Lives Matter @ Left Forum 2015, because hey, that event finds itself just a few days away. And I have already blaghed about Memorial Day with that No, I Am Not Going To Honor War Today post on this blog before.  And so Left Forum is having their Left Forum 2015 conference this year at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York, to be found in that City of New York, May 29 - May 31. And Left Forum describes its conference as 100's of panels, workshops, events, plus a festival of films, music, art and comedy with up to 60 panels per session at this year's conference. Left Forum 2015 will be a unique multi-faceted experience. And this years theme for that conference seems to be "No Justice, No Peace: Confronting the Crisis of Capitalism and Democracy". And so back to that Black Lives Matter NYC panel I was blogging about. And this panel will find itself as one of many panels to be presented at this years Left Forum conference, as last year it was Occupy Art Was @ Left Forum that I found myself at, and this year I guess it will be Black Lives Matter NYC panel that I will find myself at. And Occupy Wall Street is still moving fast.  And that Facebook event for that Black Lives Matter NYC  panel reads something like as follows:

Hi everyone,

I would like to invite you to my Black Lives Matter NYC panel with Mia Anderson, Deb Lee and Paul DeRienzo as speakers as part of this years Left Forum 2015 conference at John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York, Saturday, May 30th, 3:15pm - 5:00pm in Room 1.76 .

Discussions of Black Lives Matter, Justice for Eric Garner and all victims of racist police brutality events that have taken place in and around New York City. Black Lives Matter NYC is inspired by the Ferguson and Occupy Wall Street protests. Black Lives Matter NYC members and documenting artists discuss different ways and ideas to expand scope, perspective and inspiration towards an ongoing series of future events around this theme and time and to continue the discussion in a variety of media and strategies at events. There will be a slide show presentation of Black Lives Matter events that have taken place the past year in NYC.

Left Forum is the largest annual conference of the broad Left in the United States. Each spring thousands of conference participants come together to discuss pressing local, national and global issues; to better understand commonalities and differences, and alternatives to current predicaments; or to share ideas to help build social movements to transform the world.
