A California Video
And there is a video of a California Bay Area shooting in the California Bay Area Rapid Transit, BART subway system in the news on this day. And it is another story that was told yesterday, today and tomorrow with no end in sight of yet another person who has lost their lives to gun violence for no reason at all except for the fact that guns have been invented. Guns are the worst invention of a death industry ever. And I could post this entry over and over in my appeal to end gun violence on planet mother earth. If only guns could be banished from every human being on the face of planet earth. If only guns and the images of guns could be banished from every form of advertising, marketing and media campaigns, news broadcasts,toys, video games, and pop culture. It is a vicious cycle of some sort of beast that feeds upon itself. Is another world possible. And I am only one blogger. And in other thoughts, Yellowstone National Park is trembling from earthquakes. And how are those bees doing, are they still dying? How is that recession impending depression of an economy wanting to go out of business doing. Where is the world headed. Is there hope for the world. Is this all Kali Yuga descending and 2012 on track. What does this all mean. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

I was wanting to find a blog that spoke more to this exact incident but you touch on it in a more generalized way and I would like to comment anyway.
Let me first frame this by identifying myself.
I am a 27 year old white male, originally from the Bay Area (SF/SJ) who now resides in the Kansas City, Ks area.
That being said, I find it incredibly wrong that something like this could happen to anyone, but the fact that it happened to a young black male at the hands of an experienced white police officer only further compounds the issue. The fact that this is not the first time (how often has this type of thing really happened? - Too often!) and won't be the last is insane.
He was complying, so ANY use of force would have been too much. Even if the officer had "Tased" this person, that would have been a hyper aggressive tactic. And one has to wonder why the officer is that way... if the person on the ground had been white would the officer have felt the need to exert such force? How can an experienced officer become so flustered by a situation like this that he cannot discern his taser from his gun? Was the sitaution so intense that it "rattled" him? It certainly does not appear to be that intense.
Of course the officer will claim there was no alterior motive and the police dept and the bureaucrats will attest to that but only God and the officer know the truth. My heart goes out to the daughter left behind. I hope they win all those millions and she goes to a great college, becomes an important person in her community and our society and has the ability to change things. If this were the case then her father would not have died in vain. Perhaps God does have a plan and as attrocious as this tragedy is, it is part of an overall plan for good.
But now let's get to the generalized issue at hand.
Guns, Power, Control.
Throughout our existence on this planet, violence has played a key role in who has power and control over whom. Those capable of exacting violence onto others typically have the upper hand. The vehicle for said violence has adapted over time and continues to do so but the overall concept has not changed. I do not believe it will ever change. Even studies in children that have only ever known a non violent existence have shown that violence is how humans exert dominance over other humans. Much like apes.
But we are not apes.
What CAN be done is that we can take an intelligent and educated approach to HOW the powers that be control the rest of us NOW. In that regard a gun should only be used to effectively combat other guns. There should be a better system of checks before an officer can draw his weapon, while not hindering him from doing so immediately when in need of doing so. A taser is a step in the right in the right direction but it is a baby step and we need to be making strides. There are many effective methods of subduing a person that do not involve firing an electrified barb or metal projectile into their bodies. Unfortunately this type of thinking and training is not typically in a basic officers arsenal (and apparently not a BART officer's) and costs money. Which is the underlying current beneath all injustices in our society...money.
Educate yourselves people. It is the only way to change the things we hate so much. I guarantee you that there are people in power that want vast amounts of the population to stay ignorant, and stay quiet. The longer you do not understand the system around you, the longer you will be ineffective against it and that keeps them in power, with control over you... shooting innocent men and getting away with it. May he rest in peace and may God grant his daughter and loved ones some solace.

imo the cop shot that guy on purpose, for no good reason too. piggy should be arrested and charged with firt degree murder, ive used several handguns and tasers and i can say with certainty i would surely recognize the difference between the two. let the cop rot on death row, imo let him die by firing squad, no amount of money is going to give this family back what they lost. and a little girl is without a father now.
GET REAL PEOPLE! This was 2nd degree murder all the way, but let's not blame the bloody hammer, blame the madman holding it!!!
We need guns as a last resort to protect ourselves from gangs and errant authorities who might take power some day. Mexico is the most violent country in the Western Hemisphere, and because guns are very illegal there, the people live in fear of drug gangsters, kidnappers, and the police, or should I say gangsters and their associates. Citizens must have the right to protect themselves; if every Jew in Germany shot 1 Nazi when they knocked at the door, maybe the holocost wouldn't have happened. People here can live in their fantasy world believing that they are safe, until the day they need help and it doesn't arrive in time. Then they won't live anymore...I guess that's Darwinism at work. The Bible should have been more clear in the statement and said, "The SURVIVING meek shall inherit the earth.
