Sputimatra

Hey Bloggers, this sounds like a fun event this Saturday, and I also plan to put a few pieces of artwork in this show. So if you happen to be in the New York City area and could be looking for some great art, music, good food and holistic healing, this event looks like it could be happening. Ohm Shanti. Rock n Roll.

The Art of Living invites you to Sputimatra, a celebration of live music, visual and performance art, spoken word, yoga and meditation, Saturday, December 15th at the Art of Living Center. The evening will begin at 6:30pm with yoga lead by Narciso Cruz and will feature:

Music by:

Percussionist Jim Pugliese, formerly of the Philip Glass Orchestra,will perform a traditional Mbira piece, Butterthief, Kailin Garrity

Performance Art by:

Stephanie Nelson, of the Metropolitan Opera House, will perform an original piece Transition, SteFon the Great from Groove Hoops, Deniz Dinler

Spoken Word Performances by: Elizabeth Rothschild, Christian Rodriquez, Allan Lazare

Visual Art by: Antonio Zito, Karina Perez Aragon, Karen McDermott, David Rapoport, Vincent Castiglia, Ryu Kodama, Ryan and Trevor Oakes, Hank Yaghooti

Special performances by the students of the Y.E.S. program.

DJ Lawrence Wang will spin between performances.

The Art of Living Center is located at 127 W. 25th Street, 3rd floor in Manhattan. There is a suggested donation of $5, but students are welcomed to attend for free.
