End of an Era

I guess it is the end of an era in Rock N Roll. The news reports say Hilly Kristal, the founder of CBGB's punk rock club in New York City on the Bowery has passed away. It is almost as if he could have predicted the date of his passing with the closing of the well known club last year. I am not sure what much I can say about CBGB's that has not already been said about what it embodies and represents in its history as a club for some sort of freedom in music. Only that may he rest in peace and that this marks an end of an era, not only for CBGB's, but for the Bowery and the New York Citiy real estate scene in an era of gentrification. Maybe the legend will live on somehow, though New York may never be the same. A cycle that is ever changing.

Moving?

Moving to another part of the block, town, city, state or country? National Relocation is all real estate all the time. They are a real estate website who can help you find houses for rent and information about buying and selling real estate, contacting real estate agents and property managers. They also have information about mortgage quotes, loans, real estate values, inspections, movers and much more. And as I have been reading in the news lately, the Stock Market is crashing as a result of delinquent loans, mortgages, credit and foreclosures so they may have helpful information about this as well. And you may want to pay back your mortgage as well before the creditors start calling non stop and you find yourself hiding out from the telephone if they have not repossessed the telephone by that point. There are a lot of online tools to use at the National Relocation website when it comes to moving. National Relocation is a great all in one moving company and may help with moving for you.

The Headlines

And the headlines are there again. Another person loses their life to gun violence for whatever reason for no reason at all except that guns have been invented. The story has been told in the head before and the story will be told again in tomorrows headlines with no end in sight. The am New York has an interesting statistic in an article titled "Guns and people"; there are nine guns for every ten people in the United States, a scary statistic. And The Villager has interesting statistics in an article titled ""Lower East Siders blast back against gun violence", New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, told a forum that 30,000 people a year are killed in gun violence nationally. Again, I could cut and paste my other blog entries over and over in my appeal to banish guns from every human being on planet earth, and to banish the images of guns in every form of advertisement on planet earth. Guns are the worst invention of an industry ever. If only it was possible to go back in time before guns existed. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Day of Labour

According to the Gregorian Calendar, tomorrow marks the beginning of Labor Day weekend in America. And at first thought, I would assume this is another American holiday that is observed only in America and no where else in the world. I guess it's meaning is what the advertisers say; back to work, back to school, end of summer, beginning of fall. And the word "Work" comes to my mind as I translate it's different meanings. "Work in Spanish, trabajar which sounds like trouble in English which sounds like travel in English which sounds like travile in French which translates to pain in French which sounds like pan in English which translates to bread in Spanish which is dollar in English which translates to dolores in Spanish which means pain in Spanish again." And so this translation makes me think it is all money, travel and pain again and this verse from the Bible comes to mind. "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows". 1 Timothy 6:10. Workers of the world unite. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Happy Labor day weekend.

My Evening Gown

My evening gown, if I actually had one, can be found at Elegant Mart. They have a really great website to buy Evening Dresses, wedding, graduation, prom, and other formal gowns at great low prices. Their website offers designer gowns and that Ivory and Gold Pageant Dress on their website is really cool. I see elegance, glamour and the fab life when I see the evening gowns and cocktail dresses on their website. And I also see a good opportunity to play dress up. Black Friday, that frenzy shopping holiday, is coming up some time soon at some point and their dresses are fab for a holiday. At Elegant Mart you can shop the elegant life. Transportation?

Transportation Alternatives and Critical Mass. Those are two groups that come to mind as I read this article in yesterdays Metro newspaper, "The high cost of cruising" and unfortunately, according to this article, the high cost of cruising seems to be death from car accidents. The article has some interesting numbers and statistics. "From 1950 to 1970, the U.S. automobile population grew four times faster than the human population. Interesting. And it goes to to say, Cars kill people, During the 20th century, 250 million Americans were maimed of injured in automobile accidents. Every single day in the U.S., an average of 121 people are killed in car accidents. These numbers are incomprehensible to me and I see the increase of cars in New York city over the years as I look around. Streets I once crossed slowly, I now run across. With today's gas guzzling cars contributing to the war with oil and gasoline consumption, ozone depletion and greenhouse gases speeding up the pace of life, more cars and more accidents seem to be a way of life. What can one do if a loved one is lost to an accident, as cars are not the only hazardous mode of transportation. Any mode of transportation can be hazardous with the possibility of accidents. If only speed limits can be reduced on highways and even streets or if only everyone can bike to work, or if only the pace of life can be slowed down with cars and transportation or if only it was possible to go back to the days of horse and buggy's. If only another world was possible. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Their website is a great site to read. Whether or not one can hypnotize ones self, I am not sure.

Divide and Conquer

Today is Sunday, a day of rest that some people see as the Lords day and here I find myself blogging again. And today's thought that comes to my mind. Divide and Conquer. What is the meaning of that phrase as I have heard it every so often throughout time. And what is being divided and conquered. This phrase usually refers to people being divided against themselves as a house divided against itself cannot stand. Is it the opposite of unity, is strength in numbers. And what is strength in numbers needed for anyway. Is it united we stand and divided we fall. Does Wikipedia have an entry or an answer for that. And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Have a great Sunday.

These Days

Is it the summer heat or something. Some days when I look up at the world around me, it is enough to make me wonder if it is the beginning of the end, as current events and the state of the world seem to be out of control. And a religious fanaticism takes hold of me, as it is not the year 1800 anymore and times have changed. And I take this opportunity to repost a blog entry that I posted a while ago for anyone who may be reading this blog. Is there hope for the state of the world. Is another world possible? As this is a random thought of the day.

According to Prophecy Central, a world of information about biblical prophecy that details an outline of the future, these are signs of the end times. Though this has been said since the beginning of time many of the bible prophecies and scriptures are being fulfilled in our time. And the false prophets will say "Peace, peace" when there is no peace. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:6-8. Here is a prophetic top 10 predictions of the end of the world from a prophecy website to be interpreted: 1. Global Terrorism 2. Unrest in the Middle East 3. National I.D. Initiatives 4. Military buildup 5. The worlds growing focus on Jerusalem 6. The European Unions political merger . 7. Ecumenicalism (One World Religion) 8. Civil liberty concerns 9. The collapse of morality 10. China's growing economic and military might.
The microprocessor and microchips fit in there somewhere. Watch and be ready for the return of Jesus Christ. And if the year passes and no end of the world.......
Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. If you believe.

Addicted Again?

It's a rehabilitation nation again. Are you addicted to something? Life, love, happiness, the Internet, TV, crackberry blueberrys, cell phones or other high tech gadgets, food, sleep, drugs or anything else in life? Do you use any of these things a lot? I could be an Internet addict as I sometimes see those 50 signs you are a blogaholic in myself and could maybe use Blogaholics Anonymous or an anti Internet get sleep soon routine or an Internet Anonymous, IA meeting as I sometimes find myself blah blah blogging away these days. And sometimes you may be addicted to life and are looking for a magic potion to take you to Nirvana blissville dreamland and ease away the pain of life, if there is any pain to be found in life and you may ask Calgon to take you away. And what if you are addicted to drugs, or addicted to the magic potions that take you to peaceland blissville? Do you suffer withdrawal? Well, I love pot, I used to squat, smoke pot and like it a lot. But now I got burnout. I could be in need of some rehab. Should drugs be legalized? What would NORML, Narco News and High Times have to say about this? If you are a junkie or a drug addict and are addicted to drugs, painkiller addiction treatmentmay be just the thing for you. 1-800-nodrugs.com is a treatment referral service to help you find a rehabilitation center for your individual needs. They offer an international network for every drug treatment and service under the sun and will help you find that one rehab center that will work for you. I am not sure if swimming pools, steam rooms, saunas, libraries or computer rooms are included in these rehab services referrals also. Their website offers rehabilitation information for the nation and the thousands of rehab centers in a nation near you. And if anyone asks just say we're High on Life. This is a sponsored post.

WBAI Radio Drama

Somehow I found myself at a WBAI local station board radio committee meeting today for listener elections or something like that. WBAI 99.5 Pacifica Radio is a listener sponsored radio station in the New York City area that I have been listening to for seemingly forever. And so they had one of many election meetings today and one of the many listener input and feedback meetings today. And a radio drama indeed it is to hear the drama ramas of a radio station that seems to be in turmoil and whose radio drama goes way back in time with its listener sponsored board and its behind the scenes or not so behind the scenes stories on how its radio station functions. And everyone at the meeting seems to want to save WBAI from itself and a seemingly continuation of a story told many years ago. And hearing all of these drama ramas at this meeting seems to reflect and mirror a microcosm of a current administration. WBAI is one of the last community radio stations around who gives an alternative voice to the people in this town. What will be left without the voice of WBAI. Is it possible to help save WBAI and the world. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

To Paradise and Back

And so I went to this all you can eat free food buffet party the other day in the green mountain state of Vermont of all places. and all of the conversations with the other guests turned into an interesting conversation, so much that I wanted to pull out a pen and pad and take notes to blah blog about it later before I forgot it all. Maybe that could be one of the 50 signs you're a blogaholic. And some of the conversations that I do remember were mostly about real estate as usual, and the lady from Kentucky which brought us to the conversation of the Mason Dixon line where she lives and all of the slavery museums located there. What exactly is the Mason Dixon Line, some sort of invisible dividing line? That's a whole another topic. And then there was the conversation that turned political with "Do you watch the news?". To which a reply was about the Court Jesters being the only ones who tell the truth with news or something like that. Ans so I returned to the city, New York City as my mini day trip ended and then I realized when I saw the barrage of advertising with half of the ads implying and referring to violence, that Vermont has a no billboard law. The state of Vermont is all green mountains and not a single sign, billboard or advertisement to be found in sight. What a stark contrast to New York City. And the urban city dweller arrives in me again as space becomes an issue amongst the density of the city population and the sea of humanity as I walk the streets of Manhattan. Welcome to New York.

On the way to Spain

My friends, The Himalayas, this really cool marching band here in New York City, will be on their way to Barcelona, Spain in a couple of weeks as part of their short music tour over there in Europe. And from what I hear, they are winging it, without a hotel as of yet. If I would have thought beforehand, I may have suggested that if they are looking for Hotels in Barcelona, they can try Cheaper than Hotels. Cheaperthanhotels website offers Hotels in Madrid and Hotels en Barcelona. Cheaperthanhotels offers last minute accommodations at hotels, hostels and apartments year round with free extras and lowest rates guaranteed. With the great travel deals that are to be found on their website, maybe it's not too late to tell my friends, the Himalayas now before they travel there. Cheaperthanhotels can help make their destination to Spain cheaper, enjoyable and a great postcard from Spain. Bon Voyage.

The Deli Magazine Rocks

Hey Bloggers, oh my rockness. I have written an article for The Deli Magazine. The Deli Magazine Rocks! They are all about the NYC Indie Rock Scene! And they rock. I recognize The Deli Magazine as one of my MySpace friends and I also see their magazine in a lot of musicians top eight, so they must rock. I am happy to be able to review music for their magazine because their magazine rocks. The blog entry is titled "Zambri: tiny sisters with huge potential, tonight at Fat Baby", and that photo of them that goes along with the entry is way cool.
If you happen to be online, you can read it at The Deli Magazine

or

You can read it as follows:

Zambri are creatures with a passion for playing music is basements, streets and various other places. With two sisters Jessica Z and Cristi Jo Z, Carrie I. (who is reported to play bass and electronics with her boots!?) and a couple of guys later, the Z club is born. Their new EP "Aliens" is available now, with a record cover that introduces us to a cool Zambri logo - that somehow reminds us of the squatter anarchist symbol from days long gone in The Lower East Side. I must confess that the infectious lyrics and melody from "God" keep playing over and over in my head. Zambri music is a good fun and sweaty pop - besides, that boot playing bass and electronics must be an awesome sight to see! You can catch them tonight at Fat Baby and on 09.14 at The Lolita Party @ Glasslands Gallery in Williamsburg.

Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind

Squatter Films

And there it was taped up on the light pole as I passed by on Avenue C. It is a sign of the past, a sign of resistance that you never see in today's gentrified, genocided East Village. It read "Squatter Films. Need a Home, Take one!". It is an ode to the days gone by when these signs were everywhere and squatters were everywhere. There is no squatter scene in this neighborhood anymore. It has been bought out and sold out. This is a sign for everything now lost and forgotten that the Lower East Side neighborhood once stood for. A sign that the neighborhood once fought against. Gentrification and impending Gentrification. It is an ode to the park that once had the horses running through it, the cows running round it, and the helicopters hoovering over it. It is an ode to the bandshell that stood as a symbol of freedom for all long torn down, lost and forgotten. Free that park, that park everywhere. Freedom and utopia a thing of the past. It is a sign that once meant the squatters are your neighbors who will not surrender their lands or homes and who will not disappear or cease to exist. And so this flyer goes on to read: As the dizzying process of rampant speculation and gentrification goes on, we travel back to the days of resistance and a culture of life and struggle here on the Lower East Side. Join us for some home movies about people who needed a home and took one! Squatting is about taking back life, taking back the land in the interests of justice, equality, peace, and love between neighbors, neighbors who share a common need for a home, a human right to a home, made real in the act of seizing one! Join us for a night of cinema which explores Lower East Side history, a legacy of resistance, through direct action, and a celebration of cultural liberation. Various guest speakers will be present. Sliding scale donation at the door. Squatters rights are human rights! Gentrification is Genocide. -Not Dead Yet-
And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Green Energy

Yes I am all about green energy these days. Because of global warming and climate change, green is the thing. And I am not exactly sure what the following press release is about and how gasoline can be green because when I think of gasoline I see red. Maybe it's a bio diesel fuel or something. I hope this is helping to save planet Mother Earth and is not a profit before people, petroleum related, take all of the oil you can find out of the earth at whatever cost company, and if it says Green, then I guess its the thing.

BRITISH GAS LAUNCHES GREENEST ENERGY TARIFF

9 August 2007: British Gas has announced it is launching two new green energy tariffs, Zero Carbon, which will be the greenest tariff available on the domestic market and Future Energy. British Gas has launched the tariffs, in response to the increasing demand for green energy products.

Householders signing up to the Zero Carbon tariff will:
• reduce their household energy carbon emissions to zero through Kyoto compliant offset schemes which will meet the new Defra requirements
• help fund a direct increase in investment in renewable energy generated in the UK
• contribute to the new British Gas green fund which will:
o invest in developing new renewable technologies such as wave power
o oversee a programme to help schools in the UK reduce their CO2 emissions

GearĂ³id Lane, Managing Director British Gas New Energy said,”Our new tariff responds to consumer demand for truly green energy solutions. It is essential that customers have confidence in green energy tariffs and that their credibility is not damaged by tariffs that claim to be green but in reality do not deliver any incremental environmental benefits. Green tariffs are moving from niche to mainstream products and we’re leading the industry by offering a tariff that will do more for the environment than any other product currently available.”

Under the government’s Renewables Obligation (RO), electricity suppliers in the UK are already required to produce an increasing percentage of their electricity through methods such as wind farms which, unlike traditional power plants, produce zero carbon emissions. For 2007/2008 this figure is set at 7.9%.

In a recent report, the National Consumer Council (NCC) raised concerns that some energy suppliers are packaging electricity which is produced under the RO scheme as “green”, yet it delivers no additional environmental benefits. The NCC called on energy suppliers to take steps beyond their legal requirements and offer green energy tariffs that provide genuine additional environmental benefits, in particular CO2 emissions reduction.

British Gas worked with Global Action Plan and The Climate Group’s “We’re in this Together” campaign to develop Zero Carbon which goes further than any other green tariff in meeting these requirements offering consumers the only zero carbon option on the market.

The tariff carries a premium of £84 per year, reflecting the higher cost of producing energy through lower carbon emission schemes.

Virginia Graham, Chair of Global Action Plan, said, “The British Gas Zero Carbon tariff delivers on all three of the essential requirements of a green tariff which are: additionality, transparency and verifiability. As such it is a very welcome new offering in the market. Consumers signing up to the tariff can be confident that they are getting 12 per cent more renewable energy than they would otherwise have got. The carbon emissions from their electricity and gas will also be offset with emissions reductions from projects accredited by the United Nations.”

Zero Carbon is one of the first initiatives launched through the ‘We’re in this Together’ campaign, which was launched in April 07 as an alliance of some of the UK’s biggest brands who are all working to help their customers reduce their impact on the climate.

Dr Steve Howard, CEO of The Climate Group and founder of ‘We’re in this Together’ said, “We’re committed to offering people ways to make a real impact on climate change through Together.com. We’ve worked with British Gas to ensure that Zero Carbon is a genuine step forward in delivering more environmental benefits than any other tariff currently available.”

British Gas’s second green energy tariff, Future Energy, offers an alternative green electricity tariff at a premium of just £20 per year. Customers signing up to this tariff will contribute to a green fund which will provide solar panels and other renewable energy technologies to UK schools. Money from the fund will also be invested in development of future renewable technologies and sources.

To sign up customers can call British Gas on 0845 604 0055 or visit www.britishgas.co.uk

Camera Camera On The Street

It's Big Brother time again and he is watching you. This time it's you need permission from him to film in New York City. How are tourists and everyone else in this town supposed to know that? Will there be signs posted reading "Anyone not moving along" or "Anyone standing still for more than one second" or "Anyone standing with one or more persons" or "Anyone out after dark" or "Anyone riding a bike" or "Anyone riding the subway" or "Anyone driving a car" or "Anyone walking" or "Anyone shopping" or "Anyone carrying 100 or more bags" or "Anyone not at home" or "Anyone at home" or "Anyone waking up" or "Anyone", will need permission from New York City or else.... And the list goes on and on. You can sign a petition if you have thoughts on this rule at Picture NY, especially if you do not want to see New York pictured as pictureless. Credit Debit

I was reading somewhere today that the population of the world has doubled since 1965 and it's going upward with that J curve thing. Wow! In other news in addition to the horrible atrocities that seem to happen around the world daily too innumerable to mention, I also read the recent headlines "The Dow Jones plummets a million points". What exactly is the Dow Jones? Doesn't that have something to do with the stock market and Wall Street in downtown New York City? Well whatever it is, I think it is all about money, money and more money. This plunge seems to be about loans, mortgages, foreclosures, delinquencies, borrowing and credit debt. Is my credit card debt contributing to the fall of the Dow and causing the world to run out of money? How does that work? Should I pick up the phone the next time the creditor calls and say I will pay them back so that the world does not run out of money? Will the world economy system collapse if everyone cannot afford to pay their debt? They say seven years is bad luck. Can debt be erased every seven days instead of every seven years? Can the Federal Reserve print up free money to give to everyone and can the Treasury give away free money to everyone so that everyone can pay their debt or just make everything free in the world so that money is no longer required to obtain anything? Can everyone who needs a home just take one and squat the land now? Oh, that's a utopian thought. And forgive us of our debts as we forgive our debtors. Is another world possible.

The Cost of Living

Why does it cost so much to live in New York? Why does it cost so much to live anywhere? Is it inflation, and what exactly is inflation. Why is that 1970, $260 one bedroom apartment now $2600 and why is that mom and pop shop now Starbucks? Why is that corner coffee house now the corner laptop shop and why is that infamous Tompkins Square Park bandshell now the glorious tennis court? Why is that ten cents subway token now the two dollar subway token and why is that bagel now called a biagli. Why is Kmart now Walmart and why is that neighborhood bookstore now Barnes and Nobles'. Why is that Salvation Army shirt now an Urban Outfitters trend and why is that one dollar tank of gas now ten dollars. Why is Alphabet to dangerous to go there City now Alphabet let's go there and party City and why is CBGB's no longer CBGB's. Why is 42nd Street now Disneyland and why is The Bowery no longer The Bowery. Is it change, ever constant. Does New York reflect the state of the world, is there change everywhere in the world now in these times. Long Live New York.

Have A Great Trip?

So what's up with all of these airport trauma drama stories I've been hearing from friends lately. It's summer vacation time and more and more people are flying to their vacation getaway destination and airlines are more busier than ever. And what if your vacation getaway travel plans involve reaching your destination ten days and ten trauma drama stories later with flight delays, cancellations and security checks that cause you to miss your flight from having your baggage checked and items opened, your shoes stripped and then winding up sleeping on the airport floor until the very next day. And do you get a hotel room or a bag of cookies as recompense or do you have to pay a penalty. And what's up with those stories of you can buy liquids at the airport but you can not take them on the airplane and so you lose that gift bottle of wine and it is left behind. And what about those stories about those high tech we are looking for something devices, those scanner machines that blow air all over your body and x ray the iris of your eyes. Are civilians losing more and more of their rights in the name of terrorism and security. Is it nineteen eighty four yet, is daily life a science fiction movie these days. And despite all of this, we hope you enjoy your flight and be glad you made it to your destination. Have a great trip and happy vacation.

Chico

I have been reading the local papers often and finding myself commenting on interesting articles I read in them lately. And one interesting sentence in an article that caught my eye today was "You never see me draw guns. I want to make the neighborhood something nice to look at. If I see a negative message or mural, I go up to that person and say we need to change something." That sentence is an excerpt in this weeks The Villager titled "Still keeping it real on L.E.S.: Chico's message is indelible." Chico makes his mark a positive on the Lower East Side. Antonio "Chico" Garcia is a graffiti mural artist who has painted thousands of colorful murals on walls throughout the Lower East Side neighborhood in New York, now the East Village for real estate marketing purposes maybe, over the past few decades. The neighborhood is his gallery and he is recognized as a pioneer in graffiti art. The article goes on to say that Chico is tired of graffiti that glorifies drugs and violence, and even made the personal decision some years back to stop doing the neighborhood mural memorials to those lost to violence that launched his career. This article sticks in my mind because Chico speaks for peace and end to violence. As I have written in what seems like every other blog posting, who invented guns? Guns are the worst invention ever. And the news stories are endless of persons losing their lives on a daily basis as the news story was yesterday and the news story will be tomorrow with no end in sight for no reason at all. I could cut and paste my appeal to banish the gun industry and guns from every human being on planet earth and to end the use of the images of guns in all forms of advertising and marketing as I have written in blog posts of the past. I am only one blogger, one voice. Is another world possible. Peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

No sex ads in the paper anymore for the New York Press? Wow, now that's news. That's an article I read in their paper this week. For they have repented, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. In reality, The New York Press's article says that their paper has a new owner, Manhattan Media, which bought the New York Press last week. Manhattan Media says sex sells, but not in the New York Press, as sex ads drive away mainstream advertisers. As of this week, the New York Press is no longer accepting explicit advertising with photos. So how is everyone going to call the back pages of the Village Voice for sex now? Oh, I forgot, half of the Village Voice back pages are still sex ads and pharmaceutical ads. And how is everyone going to locate that escort, prostitute, massage parlor, xxx theater and sex shop now that has already been exiled from 42nd street Disneyland to the back pages of the local newspapers? Long Live Sex in the New York Press.

A tornado in Brooklyn

We are not in Kansas anymore. A tornado touched down in Staten Island And Brooklyn this morning. That's a headline you do not read in the news everyday if you are living in the New york City area. It's an event of historical proportions as tornadoes rarely occur in the New York City area and New York City's transportation system was disrupted and crippled as a result of the flooding rains. In the age of Global Warming and Climate Change, I watch the weather in the news around the world. Unusual weather patterns are occurring more and more frequently across the globe. Floods, earthquakes, wildfires and other natural disasters of mother nature planet earth abound. Is planet earth becoming The Day After Tomorrow, the movie. The following is a video relating to the event. Oh, and those The NewsRoom mash for cash videos rock.

Thoof It

Thoof? What is Thoof? And what is Thoofing? Is that like goof, goofy and goofing? Well, the word Thoof sounds like it could be some sort of verb, an action word. And instead of sitting here writing about Thoofing, let me take a look at the website to learn more. Oh, Thoof is a website that offers a service for personalized news. Their website has all user generated content and I am a fan of social media and web 2.0 user generated content websites these days as the web 2.0 user generated content websites to be found on the Internet these days are endless. Web 2.0 rocks. Users at the Thoof community can personalize their articles, collaboratively edit articles and rank links to other articles and blog entries, the community can then vote on the editorial changes. This site almost sounds like a version of Digg and even Wikipedia to me. Their site has the Thoof Rank Badge where one can rank good or popular articles with the "thoof it" button. Users can submit stories from other websites with this button that they think are interesting by adding the link, title, summary and tags of the story. You can even submit a post from your own site to theirs to see how popular it is and their site also seems to know how to read your mind to figure out what stories you prefer to read and what stories you do not find interesting; interesting. Thoof seems to be a recently started website. If you are a newsaholic, one can thoof off all day long and night at their website. This is a sponsored post.

Where have all the bloggings gone?

Dear Bloggers, is there anyone out there in bloggerland who is wondering where have all the paid blogging opportunities gone? In my quest to get rich Internet quick and blah blog to billions, I have recently found myself wondering where have all the paid blogging sites gone. Lately I sometimes find myself staring at the computer for days waiting for a paid blogging opportunity to appear, so much that it reminds me of that Ode to Blogging Ode that I posted a while back that I am reposting again at the end of this post. And the reality of blogging keeps reminding me that I cannot quit my day job just yet. I have signed up with a few different pay per post, pay you to blog companies and some have paid blogging opportunities every so often, some every once in a blue moon and some every day. And if a paid blogging opportunity arises, unless your website has a Google page ranking of a 100, it's a run, run, run, situation to get the post immediately, hurry, hurry before it's gone! And then when there are not many or any paid posts available for the millions and billions of bloggers in the blogosphere like me with a page ranking such as this blog is, then my mind starts wandering and wondering as I am waiting for days for a paid blogging opportunity to arise. And I have read enough of those other bloggers quest for zillions blogs and enough of those how to blog to millions online tutorials and manuals and I am still wondering how can I get that Google page rank of a hundred overnight to blog to billions?

An Ode To Blogging(sung to the tune of "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin)

Oh Google, won't you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won't you give me a PageRank quickly?

Oh Shoemoney , won't give my blog a big plug?
I post every day, but never get Dugg.
I like how you're bald, but don't wear a rug,
So oh Shoemoney, won't you give my blog a big plug?

Oh AGLOCO , won't you give up your little green scam?
Your members flood my inbox with lots of spam.
You know that I'm not your biggest fan,
Oh AGLOCO, won't you give up your little green scam?

Bloggers!
Oh Google, won't you give me a PageRank quickly?
My friends all have Adsense, but you banned me.
Blogged hard all my lifetime, trying to make money,
So Google, won't you give me a PageRank quickly?

Ghetto

Ghetto life. What's up with that? What exactly is ghetto and ghetto life and how do you get out of the ghetto if that's what you want to do. And what exactly is the ghetto? Is it possible to eliminate the ghetto? Is it inner city poverty, outer city poverty, the concrete jungle, the rough life or none of the above. Is it a state of mind, a philosophy? Let me call up someone and ask them what the word ghetto means to them.
Friend #1: Ahhh, ahmmm... it's a poor area, I don't know if it can be used in different ways, if someones ghetto it's kind of like, a ghetto is like a poor area but if someone says it's so ghetto it's kind of underground, posh or rich, has a raw edge to it.
Friend #2: It has so many meanings and it depends on the context in which it is used nowadays you know. I feel like I rarely hear it being used like this guys from the ghetto anymore. It's kind of a New York thing. The original term was used for ghettos I guess in New York did not exist as much twenty years ago. It's like a slang term also for things that are kind of like dirty and not taken care of.
Friend 3: It's where poor people live. I don't know, it's segregated housing, segregated neighborhoods where poor people live.
And those are some of the views of and from the ghetto. Have a great day.

The iPod

Everyone seems to have an iPod and are walking around the streets and riding the New York City subways wearing those white earphones these days. iPod now has DVD to iPod Converter Software where you can convert DVDs and other video files into the appropriate video format that your iPod can understand. It's true. I've seen enough iPod videos at a distance on the subway to say so. You can now watch all of your favorite TV shows and videos where ever you go. Wow, technology is amazing. The Swastika

And while I am on the subject of Nazi Germany, so what's up with that swastika symbol? What does it mean and why is it used. Does it mean Hitler, supremacy, something dark, bad or evil or is it good? I believe that although the swastika is mostly used to represent supremacy or evil these days, it's origin is actually Hindu and a good meaning that may have gone bad. And now let me refer to that Internet bible dictionary Wikipedia again because I really do not know what it's Hindu origins are, only that they are Hindu and originally meant good. Well according to Hindu Books, the word Swastika is believed to be a combination of the words Su and Asati. Su means 'good' and Asati meant 'to exist'. In Sanskrit the words Su and Asati when combined into one word become Swasti. If this derivation of the word Swastika is true, then the literal meaning of the term Swastika would be 'let good-prevail'. It is the religious Hindu symbol which ranks second only to OM. Today, the Swastika is known the world over not as a religious symbolism of the Hindus but as the Nazi emblem. It is more widely known as the symbol Hitler used on the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party), or the "I am better than you are party" flag and it has changed the meaning of the Swastika. There exist many types of signs which stand for the Swastika. Even the standard version has two forms, one facing the right also called the symbol of the right hand path and the one facing the left called the symbol of the lefthand path. These two Swastikas are also considered to represent the male and female. And this site also goes on to say that the swastika also originates as a blueprint for a fort called Su Vastu. It is used as a form of a defensive arrangement by the military practice of Chakra vyuha used during ancient times. In the Chakra vyuha, the army was arranged in the form of a circular grid which an enemy army was supposed to break and the Chakra vyuha was an effective form of defense and it was very difficult to break. So are some of the meanings of the Swastika. And what does this have to do with a No Police State?

Internet Addicted?

CrackBerry BlackBerry, Ipod, Iphone, cell phone, the answering machine, Playstations, Nintendo, videos and more. There are enough high tech devices to keep the world busy for a while. How was life before the invention of technology in the stone age when sitting around the fire was considered a form of entertainment. Life is now the ten second attention span and information overload with technology speeding up the pace of life. And so CNN had an article on its website the other day titled "Are gadgets, and the Internet, actually addictive?" It seems like the American Psychiatric Association war industry is looking for another population of people to pimp with its targeted diagnosis and pharmaceutical drugging campaigns. Even the animals are being diagnosed as depressed and are no longer immune from the pharmaceutical drug industry these days. As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I am AMA and APA, Anti Medical Model Association, Anti Psychiatric, psych-cia-trick Association and anti mental health death system. Abolish forced psychiatric treatment. Psychiatry Kills and psychiatrists are mass murders in white coats as psychiatric genocide originated in Nazi Germany. And so the CNN article goes on to say that at its annual conference, the APA and the AMA are now considering adding the label of technology addiction, the diagnosis of the digital world and its high tech gadgets and Internet addiction to its DSMIII manual and drug everyone who is addicted to the Internet. And therapists, the-rapists are waiting.
The following is a Declaration of Principals that was adopted at the Tenth Annual International Conference on Human Rights and Psychiatric oppression, held in Toronto Canada in 1982. The following is an excerpt from 30 principals.
1. We oppose involuntary psychiatric intervention including civil commitment and the administration of psychiatric procedures "treatments" by force of coercion or without informed consent.
4. We oppose forced psychiatric procedures such as drugging, electroshock, psychosurgery, restraints, solitary confinement and "aversive behavior modification".
5. We oppose forced psychiatric procedures because they humiliate, debilitate, injure, incapacitate and kill people.
6. We oppose forced psychiatric procedures because they are at best quackery and permanent harm to the total being of people subjected to them.
And the list goes on and on...........
And #18. We oppose the use of psychiatric terms because they substitute jargon for plain English and are fundamentally stigmatizing, demeaning, unscientific, mystifying and superstitious. Examples:
Plain English and Psychiatric Jargon
Psychiatric inmate........................Mental patient
Psychiatric institution...................Mental hospital/mental health center
Psychiatric system........................Mental health system
Psychiatric procedure.....................Treatment/therapy
Personal or social difficulties in living.....Mental illness
Socially undesirable characteristic or trait..Symptom
Drugs.........................................Medication
Drugging......................................Chemotherapy
Electroshock..................................Electroconvulsive therapy
Anger.........................................Hostility
Enthusiasm....................................Mania
Joy...........................................Euphoria
Fear..........................................Paranoia
Sadness/unhappiness...........................Depression
Vision/spiritual experience...................Hallucination
Non-conformity................................Schizophrenia
Unpopular belief..............................Delusion
No one is free when others are oppressed. Freedom for all. Is another world possible? And what does this have to do with a No Police State? Mind Freedom.
