The Lives They Left Behind

I do not know what this is all about, but sometimes I find myself reading the newspapers just to find something to blah blog about. And this time a listing in the Village Voice seemed interesting. It's an exhibit about leftover baggage and the lives of psychiatric inmates that were left behind in a suitcase called "The Lives They Left Behind:Suitcases From a State Hospital Attic." I guess the title may be self explanatory. In the attic of one of the abandoned buildings of a State Psychiatric Hospital building, workers discovered a stack of suitcases that belonged to former patients. Their personal belongings, along with their medical records, has inspired a fascinating exhibition at the New York Public Library. And as being anti psychiatric state and anti psych cia trick association, this is an exhibit that I would be interesting in seeing. And just the idea that ones life can be condensed to a suitcase is a lot to comprehend to me. The pharmaceutical industry seems to be bigger than the war industry these days. Psychiatry Kills.
